This was a relatable and enjoyable discussion. Mine is just the Base model (2017 Porsche CPO Program). I chose it after realizing how much the 991.2 Base outperforms the 991.1 S, 4S and GTS models that I had been considering. And costing about the same. I’m fairly confident the whole 991.2 line of 911 will become recognized as the pinnacle of the whole series. And Porsche’s decision to go turbo on all (except GT3) models was brilliant. The 992 is compromised in a few significant ways, especially the mandated exhaust filters but also the extra weight and unimportant complexities (like the party trick) door handles that will likely cause maintenance issues for the long term owner. Only real improvement is the slightly wider fenders on all trims. Thanks for tolerating my verbose post 😎🎩♠️
Thank you for your comment and perspective. Totally agree with your observation! The car is a joy even after 5 years and has been totally trouble-free.
I agree with the "drive it every day". On the forums the members say "these cars are meant to be driven" but they only drive their cars 3k miles a year.
Excellent video. I just had my 991.1 for two years and loved it to death. But I don't drive it to work though. It's more of a weekend car. The traffic to downtown is not good at all. So being a weekend car, every time I get in - it feels like a very special event.
Its the jeolous in some people's minds. If they cant get something in their life, they rather destroy it so no one can get it. But KARMA will always pay back, they will never get what they want. Thanks for the review, I wam picking up a 991.2 4s next week and have learned a lot from you video.
Thank you for your personal take on these great cars. I share many of your opinions. My car is not a “clean and always spotless” example, simply because I’m frequently engaged with its use and as a result it lives life as a daily driven car. What more can you ask of a car than that and the things you’ve noted in the video? It’s just wonderful.
I agree wholeheartedly on every point, great video! I have a 911 991.2 Cab. I drive it every day and have just under 70k mikes on it. Until it costs more in maintenance than a replacement would cost, I will keep it! I’m 56 and I think your attitude about it just being a car covered by insurance comes with perspective only gained with age. 😊
Thanks for sharing the video. I have owned a 991.1 S convertible for the last four years and initially I thought about selling it as it likely owned me. I was worried about messing it up with daily driving. I got over that after two years and now I feel like I'll never sell this car. I likely will add a second 911 (hardtop) or a Cayman.
Keep it. I plan to keep my 2017 Carrera for awhile. Only problem I’ve had was a cooling system issue which was covered under warranty. The 992 is nice but pricey too. Nice review. Thanks.
I sold my 991.2 4gts early this year. It is a fantastic car but wasn’t a daily driver for my comfort and back. The car handles the corners and straight lines equally well, though.
you need to have the 2 gts , 4 wheel makes the car more heavy to drive and less comfort. rear makes more better the car and gives far more comfort and lighter steering.
@@radumihaibadescu5089 I also think optioning the sport suspension which lowers the car some and standard seats can affect the daily drivability for some.
@@radumihaibadescu5089 . I beg to differ. I don't notice a difference at all other than the 4GTS sticks to the road better under hard acceleration. Harder to break the rear end loose on the 4 GTS.
Great video! We have most of the same quirks with our jet black 991.2 C4S, but love driving it. Carmine red exterior was our second choice. Just completed a Softronic ECU tune that has provided incredible performance improvements. As if it needed more power. But it’s a rush.
Only losers will key people’s cars, doesn’t have to be a nice car. I’ve had my car keyed as well and it was a regular entry level bmw (back in 2018). I took it as the person flattering me because whoever it was, they were obviously jealous of my success to the point they felt they needed to key my car. Moving forward, as I progressed to owning sports cars, I always either wrapped my car or installed full PPF so even if jealous ppl keyed my cars, the paint isn’t scratched.
At 4:55, that white sculpture of the Porsches to the left of your shoulder is actually in the Porscheplatz round-about at the Porsche Museum if you have been to it. I think it is called "Inspiration 911". I was there in 2015 and again in 2019 for the 50th anniversary of the 917. As for using any car or a Porsche as a daily driver, when people buy me the car, then maybe they can tell me how to use it. You see owners in bumper to bumper city traffic. I'm there scratching my head thinking "what a waste" while I on the other hand am on a twisty backroad with my 993 or 991.1 GTS, both manuals of course. Also, when you are a tech as I am and not floating in a large salary, you tend to cherish what you have and look after it more than those that say "it is just a car".
Don’t get the the GTS stick with the the 4S and for $10k in parts you can make it beyond the turbo RS! Whatever you do definitely add air bags your back will thank you 10x over along with long drives.. GL
The diamond button and seat memory are linked to each key separately. Are you ever using the other key when this happens? Try programming the diamond button and seat memory to each key separately. That solved the issue for me.
Straight talking video ,I have the same issue ,own a 2017 991.2 Cab,been thinking of trade up to a 992 ,to be honest the change over price does not justify the deal ,like you, I'll keep my 991.2
if my 911 looked as ugly with black wheels (lost your hubcaps look) especially in combination with red which makes the car look perpetually dirty, I would get rid of it stat

50k on my 2019 991.2 4 gts.
Nah , Porsche owners use them , at least 3/4 of them
I really like your down to earth approach to driving a Porsche and using it as a daily driver. These cars should be driven. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for your comment!
What cars should not be driven?
With the first sentence you said on this vídeo, you answered the question!
Keep it !!
😀 I did!
Your video has convinced me to keep my 991.2 GTS (ashamed to say I was considering parting with it for similar reasons!). Thanks for posting!
🙂 It's a great car, especially in GTS trim. Glad you are keeping it!
Continued enjoyment, sir. I feel the same way about my 2021 992 C4S manual.

Chetta ! So happy you decided to keep the car especially in the current market. Want to let you know that I am a big fan of your content

Awesome video, you naturally sold this car for what it really is, a therapy! It's a beautiful thing for anyone that can appreciate a 911.

Great video sir and love what you said about it being a waste of money for it to just sit in the garage instead of being driven!

I really like the mechanic feeling of 991 series.
Yes...its very analog. Thank you for leaving a comment.
If you like the mechanical feeling and a real analog car, then you should get a 993.
The Seat and Steering wheel problem happens when you turn on the car with seat belt not fastend and door open.
Interesting...had not thought of that. Will try thank you.

Debating on picking up a 991.2 C4S when this outrageous loan interest rate falls down. :) Located in California so its going to cost an arm and a leg
Good luck!🙂
Good video. I agree: drive daily.

Electric issues occur probably due to the car sitting too long, did you plug in the battery maintainer to the outlet? If you don't have one get it.
I drive it daily. 🙂
Awesome car, but I’d trade for it in manual. Stinks about it being keyed. Jealous people out there.
Yes possibly manual next! Still love the pdk/paddles though.
Axel ration.
Jealousy. Messed up people out there would key a car.

Keep it! I screwed up and traded my 19 T for a 992 4gts. 992 interior sux in alot of ways
Thank you for your comment and insight!
Selll it.. Buy another.
It's as good as new! 😀
Try Tesla model S Plaid
For somebody who loves a modern 911...a Tesla Model S would be a significant downgrade.
Boring as I have driven cars like it...Taycan Turbo S. And besides, I do not want my car sounding like a sewing macine.
Get a Ferrari. Porsches are bloated, underpowered pigs. That tiny 3" thing needs to be spun up to high revs to get any meaningful power.
99% of people who have diven/own one and enjoy driving would disagree.🙂
