Great video! I just found this randomly since i've been rewatching Bleach. I kinda wanna drop something here from the perspective of someone who grew up with this series and was ALOT like Orihime in a lot of ways. Alongside everything you and others pointed out about her being such a champion for unconditional kindness, I want to say I think Orihime's "airhead" moments aren't really her being airheaded all the time. Trauma especially in young girls, coming from my own experience sometimes gets to be played out as "air headed" to avoid conflict or admitting one's own pain. Depending on how we were socialized, it comes off differently. To me Orihime is super observant and empathic and something that stands out to me the MOST in her relationship with Ichigo is that... Ichigo RARELY gets to feel his emotions, and process them. his friends will see him look a little forlorn for five minutes and go "lol okay into the training basement you go, stop being such a baby and get over it." Orihime is one of the few people who is reasonable and genlte with Ichigo, not exactly pitying him but worrying for his mind and heart. she knows he's her age, they share a lot of loss and she sees Ichigo being used as a weapon pointed in several directions by ADULTS all the time. Orihime is as much his knight as he is to her, and in some cases Ichigo is placed in an emotional state of stagnation like a damsel. But he's a teen at the start, just like her, like.. a kid. When I was 15 and saw boys my age going through hard times, like Orihime, I saw past the societal expectation for boys to be the "knight" and saw that they were also children like me and I did what Orihime did. I tried to encourage some of them and other times I did ask for help. She doesn't linger on what her friends should be, she just has faith that they're humans and she loves them without hesitation. She rejects despair, and the one time she does cry out like a damsel to Ichigo to "Save me" she also told him "You don't have to win. it's okay." She knew he would win, but she was willing to tell him "you're not just a weapon. you're a kid like me, we're both scared. only one of us was told to become a weapon." SO! that's my input! it was really neat learning about that told tale and hope this helps the algorithm \O/
@@Noelle668 Noelle you really dropped a gem and a beautiful comment here! This type of perspective is something I wholeheartedly agree with. People don’t understand that Ichigo is told to keep to get back on your feet and keep moving forward. Truthfully Part of what you talked about in this comment is part of what I have in store for my next orihime video. The topic is “the soul society arc would NOT have happened if it wasn’t for orihime” I would love for everyone to be able to see orihime and her story from the set of eyes of understanding like you do. I’m glad I didn’t scrap this video like I thought of doing a week ago cause I wouldn’t have found the gem that you are with your words. Thank you for sharing your thoughts🤍
@@strawhatvibe ooohhh wow wow thank you for the kind words!!! It’s sad you May have scraped it, we would have lost a very wonderful and insightful video! I’m always happy to see more Orihime videos giving her the recognition she deserves and you’ve been doing that! I’m very happy to have found this channel! Please keep it up and i look forward to the next one! Cheering you on!
AHHHH I LOVE THIS COMMENT SO MUCH. THANK YOU for reading her and Ichigo like a book. Orihime is truly a character for people with their feet on the ground, in touch with reality.
Orihime is genuinely a kind soul, her powers reflect this. Her early upbringing was awful yet instead of wanting revenge upon the worlds she decided to see good in it, extending this to others with her ability/disposition. In the Spirit worlds, wars are fought with unrestrained ferocity, quickly spiraling into bloody wipe out attempts with zero mercy shown. Orihime stands in opposition to this by essentially bringing to them her own brand of the Geneva conventions, helping in saving lives while in mortal danger. She's a truly brave humanitarian and no one else besides KON shares these views with her without compromise.
@@manuelacosta9463 damn right!!! This is why we love her fr. She stands out like a sore thumb in such a world like this of BLEACH. Truly my favorite bleach girl in the series. Maybe it’s because I see some of my life upbringings in her
Another thing is that Orihime is actually busted. Her power if used by a fighter would basically be unstoppable. As she can reject anything if she wills it.@@strawhatvibe
The anime for most part censored how powerful Orihime really is. Her healing is beyond comprehension. Even when people lost portions of their brains. Not even Unohana or Kirinji could’ve restored Yamamoto‘s arm.
Her powers are not healing tbh , even Aizen and Ulquiorra has theorized its not "healing", it's basically rejecting what happened , like "nuh uh" to everything
@@raphitaliachan7442 I know it’s not healing. But Orihime‘s negation is way better than healing. Like when Shinji desperately asked for only for her when Hiyori was cut in half. Even Yhwach knew how valuable she is. It’s a surprise the Quincies were never invested in her.
So she did Hachi's too? I wonder if he might be able to do the same, since he posits her powers work similar to his. And he's not limited to shinigami abilities. But if it did involve hollowfication, then that would have been forbidden too.
Exactly, not many people seem to get that Ulquiorra had basically the same issue with Orihime that he had with Ichigo. The difference is that with Ichigo the philosophical conflict was realized through battle, while with Orihime it was realized through their verbal interactions and clashes. There is a lot of parallelism between Ichigo and Orihime as you said, they embody the same values, they both are able to show kindness and will help regardless of the race/nature of the one in need be it friend or foe. But Ichigo does it via physical actions like fighting to protect, while Orihime does it through healing, shielding and even befriending.
The anime changed a lot regarding Ichigo and Orihime's relationship because they were IchiRuki fans. Like, in the manga, Orihime actually is the one who helps Ichigo make the decision to go save Rukia, while in the anime, she simply reaffirms his decision.
Also liked how her humanitarianism was shown with Harribel and her Fracciones by saving their lives in Fake Karakura's aftermath. She pointedly told everyone she's there to help anyone regardless and prevented Renji from finishing a severely wounded/nonthreatening Apacci. Nestle to Night is quite a nice work that shows us where Orihime's heart is and how Harribel and her girls survived the battle.
I’m glad I was an able to create something you’d enjoy! she’s my fav BLEACH girl so it was only a matter of time for there being a video on this channel 🥰
The tendency to underestimate healers and emotional support characters is...interesting to say the least. But while Naruto fans kinda suck I'm not so sold on blaming them. It just seems to be a thing that happens. Unless they are fighting on the front lines people tend to devalue them. Ever hear of the logistics flyers of WW2 who moved planes from place to place? Absolutely vital for freeing up combat pilots but you don't hear much of them.
Orihime was never useless. She helped Ichigo and the group in important occasions. The problem is people have this weird idea that if a character don’t fight or kill that means is useless when you can contribute and help other important things besides fighting.
Understanding your role is a lot more important than just throwing punches and people don’t understand it smh. Ty for being one of the ones who understands the assignment
@@loganhayse8771 I like how it's them essentially being a battle couple. Two saviors in action. It foreshadows their lives and family together in the postwar world, though Orihime feelings for him were well established early on.
@@loganhayse8771 yeeesss literally I love they put that in the recent episode!! She’s taking more action ever since the lost agent arc and we love that for our girl!
@strawhatvibe she started to show it when she stood up against Ginjo in Ichigo's training and again briefly when she was protecting Tsukishima playing more of a support than healer role. I hope she shows off her training more. I also like how she's a bit of the classic feminine of the main character Ichigo. Both share so many similarities that when you break them down; makes their marriage feel like a match We've seen what she can do and when she combines different fairies together; I'm hoping we'll get some new moves. We saw something with the 4 corner Santen Kesshun in episode 1 of TYBW and the counter Santen Kesshun vs Ginjo in the Fullbring arc so we may see something new.
@manuelacosta9463 I also feel both are learning to compensate for their weaknesses; though it's unspoken. Orihime was very passive and now she puts her foot down and will defend and Ichigo is letting her help and watch his back; despite always taking it upon himself to save the day
for some reason, in my mind rukia was always the person to grab ichigo by his collar and thrust him into a position she knows he's capable of overcoming. after reading the manga recently, i realized i COMPLETELY forgot about orihime motivating ichigo to rescue rukia. the manga does a much better job at characterizing orihime. i hope that if we ever get a reanimation of pre TYBW, they do this character justice for all the anime only watchers who were stuck with a lesser version of the character.
@@ItzTally it makes sense for rukia to play that supportive mentor figure to ichigo and get him out of his funk, she did that to orihime to some extent as well. Simply because rukia is way older and has more experience. Orihime on the other hand was an insecure teen that grows over time to be confident and she doesnt realize how impactful her words are for ichigo to also look out for himself, not just burdening everything on his shoulder. Hence why in the end she says she'll keep on healing him no matter how battered he becomes.
yeah! that one big moment of her and almost everyone forgot :C, makes me sad because it shows Orihime´s love for her friends and her strong personality. Rukia is like the mom of the group that gives advice and tough love when necessary, her helping Ichigo AND Orihime are amazing moments, and also show that she is, in fact, older and more mature than them.
You know i never realized until this video, but Orihime could possibly have 2 more abilities if she continued to train her powers. Each of her techniques have used varying numbers of her hair pins. So far she has used up to 4 of them at a time, but it seems like she could use 5 of them and even all 6 of them together. I wonder if we'll see her use more abilities in the Hell Arc.
@@vanguardduelist I hope we see some additions during the TYBW anime! Maybe see her using shiten kosshun as she protects Ichigo more? Oh also We’ve seen her using soten kesshun in a greater magnitude in the arrancar arc when she healed two people that weren’t close to each other by calling ayame
I would LOVE a Video on Both Ichigo and Orihime together with how similar their story arch goes and mirrors each other. It was hinted on who will be fighting the final Villian all the way back to Sora. Where Orihime shields Ichigo and hugs her brother which protects Ichigo. It's also IMPORTANT TO NOTE that ONLY Orihime during the Agent of the Shinigami was exposed to Ichigo's Powers as a Soul. Rukia can also be view as a Mentor to Orihime since we know they trained together.
@@mikamicki yeah once you have this kind of perception you can kinda see why ichiruki doesnt work together romantically, yeah they are very close friends and have mentor-mentee vibe like with kaien too. ichigo and orihime in some ways were akward teenagers that needed support and guidance and rukia did help them in a lot of ways. It makes sense why rukia was the one to do that since she lived longer and had more experience.
Orihime's happy ending brings her full circle, providing her with the companionship and love she longed for throughout the series. By marrying the man of her dreams and even giving birth to a son, Orihime finds the joy with a family she craved, no longer alone in the world.
her story is really dark if the anime adapted well showing the flahsback better probably people will give her last hate and understand her better. Hope the remake really happens in the future doesn't matter if will be in 2027 or 2028 I need it. Great video mate
I hope it happens too cause this type of information should be in it the series. It brings more life to these characters. She has one of the darkest stories in the series
I'd argue it's not solely to protect Ichigo that he revived, it's a combo of Ichigo's desire to protect Orihime....and White wishing to protect Ichigo, because white doesn't just revive and protects Orihime, the first thing he does directly harms Orihime, no White came out to play to truly humiliate Ulquiorra, that's why a lot of his actions literally mirrored what Ulquiorra did to Ichigo, like blitzing Ulquiorra and crushing him into a wall, taking his strongest attack and breaking it, etc. Ichigo revived with the intent to protect Orihime, White revived him with the intent of protecting Ichigo but also make Ulquiorra pay, but White was 100% in command, with Ichigo trying to fight back the urge at one point and straight up failing. Which is why he was so horrified when he got control again. Not like this takes away from your analysis, but yeah just thought I'd add my 2 cents.
Two things can exist at the same time but ichirukis be gaslighting everyone. They seem to forget orihime's voice triggered the whole sequence in the first place. White is a part of ichigo he doesn't need to announce that.
@@mia3033 I feel like it's very much a bit of both, in that instant both spirits were of the same idea, hence why, also it was so clear to me that White was in full control when he replicates so much shit Ulquiorra did to Ichigo and it makes sense that he's pissed off after being forcefully kept in check up till now as well. Also, dunno if you're trying to say that Ichirukia is a thing in my head? I've never seen these 2 together, they've never had any kind of love chemistry together, Rukia literally doesn't know how to be empathetic to Ichigo when he's in a bad spot, her reaction is more or less to punch him to try to force him back to reality >_> idk how people see romance in that.
@@Fearless_Jay i agree with your first paragraph, the 2nd one u misunderstood bcoz i do agree that ichiruki was nvr a thing but some ichiruki fans (toxic ones) tryna spread out this narrative that white only wanted to protect ichigo while failing to realize ichigo also responded to orihime's cries. Which is why i said two things can be true at one time.
@@mia3033 ah yeah dw, that's also how I see it personally, like orihime is what broke the thing that effectively limited Ichigo so White was able to take over in the first place, but White took over to protect Ichigo, at least that's how I see it. As for the ichirukia, I know, I'm mostly just agreeing, I never understood people seeing it as a thing, is all.
@@Fearless_Jay i think anime rly is to blame tho even without anime some do ship ichiruki still as their interactions were more easy to enjoy and straightforward, and most ppl prefer that kind of bickering chemistry. Personally for me i am fine with it but when u take the story context into it, it just falls apart over time when u think abt it. Ichigo x orihime is just more slowly built up bcoz of their insecurities and akward teen phase thats why to some ppl it seemed like they don't have chemistry which is wrong.
Literally Orihime was shown to be, as Ichigo, a protector of life no matter who or what it is, across the entire series and it amazes me how people can't understand that, i think most hate on her because of that and because she "doesn't has" a good chemistry with Ichigo. The novel We Do Knot Always Love You explains their relationship and expand it a bit.
@@Proaz15 That's her strong suit, humanitarian pacifism that's virtually nonexistent elsewhere and alien to the Spirit worlds she engages with. She's truly an innocent soul, golden heart with a personality too accompany it. And she extends this to others without judgement. If she can save a life it's enough.
I think people who hate are people who are rejecting projecting their own insecurities on her becauae they can never be just as kind without violence and authentically honest. Irl people are like this, there are bitter ugly people who treat those who are kind pretty as inferior because they cant stand the reflection they can never be or have. Its like jealousy. Just my opinion tho, I've seen it plenty especially with woman to other woman when someone is feminine, pretty and especially kind, they start hating on them because they are bitter jealous that person can be both beautiful inside and outside.
@@Proaz15 its not that they have bad chemistry its just a little subtle to notice. And not to mention they were akward teens coming to terms with themselves that's why their relationship was built up from the ground up. Makes sense the romance comes later
Orihime in my opinion is the reason why Bleach is so misunderstood. She represents the other way to deal with grief, people's expectations and understanding oneself. She's the most human character and it was shown over and over again in the arrancar arc. She feels things she's not proud of (jealousy, helplessness), but actively works on them and doesn't let other people tell her how to feel, she's very true to her values and she's the type of person who is kind because she feels is the only right thing to do. She's passive on physical reactions, on provocations, but very active on emotions and understanding them, using the emotions to move the plot forward. Meanwhile you have Ichigo, who is constantly active physically, constantly having to act before thinking, and doesn't have time to reflect on his own emotions, blocked by his fear of being too much, of not understanding, of not being enough or not in control of his true self. He denies the uglyness of his soul until The Blade is Me arc. Then he learns to accept that. Anyways, AMAZING VIDEO!!!! GOT A NEW SUBSCRIBER!!! I love love love when people analyse Orihime and get her character just right! Thank you so much for verbalizing many of my thoughts in such a beautiful way. Great channel, I hope you keep growing
5:02. Maybe it became her strength later in life. But initially, all it probably was was a trauma response. Her parents beat her up for crying, so she learned to be silent. Her learning to express opinions freely is when her growth begins and it is clear in the Arrancar arc. Honestly, the only thing about Orihime I didn't like was the effing costumes Kubo stuffed her in. My girl is pretty and wanted to be a mech. Why couldn't he give her a combat medic mech suit?
I just wanna say this is such a FANTASTIC video, especially as someone who personally writes Orihime a lot and has done so much character analyze on her. You got everything about her down to a T!!! Im so in love with this and im so glad someone finally talked about her story, and how misunderstood she can be

I’m an anime only but, I feel like a lot of people except their hand to be held through stories instead, of taking their time to pay attention to a story and it’s context. We all know Orihime loved Ichigo but, throughout the story it’s shown that Ichigo cares about her too. He loves her too. It’s always been shown that Ichigo cares about this friends and will do anything for them but if anything happens to Orihime, in particular, he always always has more intense reaction. I can understand why people may have wanted him with Rukia and if it ended up that way I wouldn’t have been mad. But I’ve always noticed this between Orihime and Ichigo and I loved it so much. I just always I just love me some Orihime.
@@natashahenry5044 Exactly it was there the entire time!! He would always make sure she was okay left and right. Even over the smallest of things he’d be like “orihime are you hurt?” I love it so much❤️ and yes people expect their hand to be held thru this series which means you have to find your own answers at times which I love bleach for
Orihime was an insecure teenage girl, she was even jealous of rukia's ability to give pep talks to ichigo. it makes sense since rukia is more of age and more experienced hence why she was the one who advises ichigo and orihime to some extent. but instead of being mean spirited orihime builds her own confidence over time and she was able to assist ichigo in her own ways too. ichigo on the other hand had always felt something for orihime tho it was more subtle, he had more things to deal with rather than indulging himself in romance at that moment, they were both angsty teenagers and akward with each other, it doesnt mean they dont care for each other. the show was to build their foundation first hence why the romance felt appropriate later on
His reactions when he is with her were always weird, even as a kid I noticed. He acted with more care, like being careful about his actions and words, unlike his usual brutally honest self. A lot of people thought this was because , ironically, he wasn´t close to her so interpreted it as him being detached, when, in reality, it shows that he is VERY concious of her opinion of him, even if he doesn´t realize. Rukia herself in the pilot and manga notices and teases him about it.
@@rebecamendez5456 yeah and i hate when ppl say ichigo is being fake whenever he treats orihime like that. Imo that is a very normal action for teen guys to do with someone they are conscious of lol. Usually when they are into someone, the way the person looks at them matters that much. It doesnt mean its superficial as we all know orihime is aware of ichigo of how he is usually. On orihime's side she was always bubbly to everyone but she is constantly worrying about ichigo.
@@mia3033 Yes yes! He totally acted as a 15 y/o with a crush! is the opposite to the usual "bickering couple" or "Bully the girl you like" that is more popular. In real life most of my classmates around that age acted just like that with the pretty girl they liked. Rukia was the mentor/wingwoman even in the pilot LOL she noticed and thats why she knew exactly what to say to lift their spirits. Considering her relationship with Renji, that helped her "see" what was going on more clearly xd.
Again, great job pointing out how despite Orihime's insecurities, the things she admired in Rukia, she had done for Ichigo as well before. Yes, as foes and obstacles became harder to face, she felt more and more powerless to contribute the way she wished, but not many people seem to remember her relevance in helping Ichigo make up his mind before (Probably cause the anime butchered that scene.) People just take the insecurity thing at face value. Not to mention Ichigo himself went through a whole emotional rollercoaster that arc (again parallels with Orihime) because not long after Rukia encouraged him, he was down again after facing another defeat iirc.
Yes!! Like are we going to ignore who it was that got him back up and focused during his fight with Grimmjow? It was the princess of the series Orihime. She said don’t die and I don’t want you to get hurt. To many that seems like a cringe scene or whatever but it’s what Ichigo needed to be reminded of. Because of her he locked back in and dealt a huge blow to Grimmjow. Once again something rukia wouldn’t have been able to do only orihime
it's really the anime fault tbh it depicted her as many things and didn't elaborate on her past or like anything about her I wasn't very fond of her until this video because the anime left so many things out from the manga.
It's a shame that she never got any spectacular scene, something very heroic. I always wanted her to ie. resurrect someone (with some high costs of her powers) or just reversing somethign badly damaged (completely destroyed Karakura town) or reversing back some villan into a baby state to give him a second chance to be a good person. Something like this.
I love Orihime. Shes the only one looking out for Ichigo in his well being mentality emotionally not just physically. Everyone wants a piece of Ichigo the meme "save the soul society, Ichigo" is placing heavy burdens on Ichigo making him think of, protect others instead of looking out for himself. But we have Orihime who grounds him, reminds him if hes gonna be fighting to come back in one piece and not just throw away his life when there are others who care about him just as much as he does others. That's how I see it anyways. Its filler but that scene in Hell Movie when she hugs him encompasses this view
@@strawhatvibe yes I've come to appreciate their dynamic alot more after JJK came and went, just look at Gojo and Ichigo they are both placed on high pedestals with everyone leaving their issues with them but unlike Ichigo, Gojo did not have an Orihime... he did, Geto but we know how that went... and without Geto, Gojo was wondering aimlessly and had very little reason to fight to live like Ichigo did for Orihime when he Vasto Lorde. No matter what anyone says, he came back _for her_ to protect _her_ She is the reason worth living, worth fighting for. I love them so much, I hope we get more of their happy ending in the anime because they deserve to be loved, not enough of their relationship was shown after and I wish we get the LNs as Ovas or something
@@SemekiIzuio i think a lot of ppl misunderstood abt the whole ichigo/orihime relationship and looking only for the romantic parts while the show focuses on building the foundation first, this is why it made more sense why they are together later on. Ichigo did show those feelings in his own ways but it was just more subtle as compared to orihime, knowing her personality.
@@mia3033 yes also as Rangiku said it best, Ichigo was too busy with sht to prioritize romance, Ichigo is such a King for that 👑 There was like literally no time for him when he had his own issues he needed resolving outside of the soul society dragging him around, he needed to resolve his hollow self and make peace with his mom death. Once those things were healed, after TYBW then it was the perfect time for them to be happy. So like can you really blame them, Ichigo Orihime (Kubo) not being romantic as much? On top of that its Shounen and I much loved Orihime growing into her own woman separate from only simping over a guy as many Shounen woman end up being.
@@SemekiIzuio i hate when ppl reduces orihime to a simp because she did a lot of other things and grow into a person instead of just loving ichigo lol, and tbh theres nothing wrong with that in itself and she nvr imposes or expects ichigo to return those feelings too. She is a bit of masaki and kanae in a way and i just realized how ichigo had more similarities with ryuken personality wise and less like isshin. Orihime had the same devoted tendencies like kanae but still retains that bubbly persona like masaki. Hell verse movie tho not canon we can see how ichihime plays out, they are literally like husband and wife lol

@@ZJC1215 omg Thankyou😭💕 that’s the best thing I’ve heard all day 🥹 def going to keep posting. I try to prioritize quality over quantity so they take some time but I have another orihime video in the works!
If she had better trust in her powers, she would've realized that Tsubaki wouldn't kill innocent people and only gotten rid of anything possessing them.
If people were expecting a op beast in orihime they can't even translate her name. Orihime is kind. Her power is mostly on protection and healing. Rejecting the pain. If plot didn't hold her back she'd be a monster on par with dende or tsunade in healing being able to reverse someone's damage or losing their life. dende was able to bring most people from the brink and with Saiyans if freiza didn't figure it out they'd have been growing too fast. Juha. Aizen. Grimjow all mention this to be a fact on her power being this strong. It should not be able to be stopped as it reverses the effect and damage if Kubo didn't keep her true power in check would have made bleach better with characters getting erased to her just bringing them back. Did that for arrancar more than the good guys too strange enough Plus on a character stand point. Her romance with Ichigo is probably one of the best as it was set up long ago. Goes into how both are treated to one another and ends up baring fruit. Even people in verse ship them together and ichigos actions show as much when he goes full power on Ulquiorra when it was his fault she was sent here. Same with grimjow going from getting beat to one handing him just with her words of not wanting him to get hurt. Her love is powerful. She got what she wanted in being his wife and in a loving family.
@@Proaz15 wrong too. It's based on orihime's strength of will. If she believes she can't save someone it won't work as fast. But the problem there is Kubo only remembers that when the plot is not affected I mean if her power worked well. Ichigo would be at full strength before kenpachi finished off noritora. Same with the hollow hole Ulquiorra made. Also we meme on Naruto talk no jutsu. What about orihime spirit speech? Her words do more work than her power with Ichigo washing grimjow and reviving him against Ulquiorra after she talks
People always blame the anime adaptation but I think the issue runs deeper, manyn viewers/readers are dissapointed in her character because the expectations were high If Orihime was simply a healer, many people wouldn't complain, but Kubo didn't give her just healing, but the power to reject reality itself, a power praised even by Aizen himself, and combined with her short training session, it's bound to create hype. Because even if her character is one of a pacifist and/or underdog, the informations given to us gave the impression that just like other pacifists like Gohan or Superman, she would have done something huge to help against the Arrancar or Aizen. But that never happened, and what Aizen said meant nothing, since he didn't plan to use Orihime's power at all. And that caused dissapointment because the information given to us was now meaningless, and while Orihime would eventually contribuite in the Quincy arc... The damage was already done and for many, she was ruined. Kubo's mistake was to hype up too much at the wrong time, a time where he didn't plan for her powers to contribuite in bigger fights. Let's take another character, Keiko from Yu Yu Hakusho. Nobody calls her useless because we already know she has no powers, she is a support character and her role in the story is to be one of Yusuke's reasons to fight, no harm in that. Another character, more similiar to Orihime, is Kagome from Inuyasha. She is a healer and it's stated that she has powers, but she is simply someone that can be on par with Kikyo, she doesn't have anything as broken as rejecting reality. I don't think anybody is dissapointed that Kagome doesn't fight as much as other characters do, because the expectations are well balanced, she has her spiritual niche and that's it.
It will be disappointing if she doesnt be what you expected her to be. But knowing her personality, background and dreams made me learn her to appreciate her for who she is and what she wants to be, not what she could be. I guess thats what kubo tried to tell anyway.
Sounds like a comprehension issue. As if anything, Arrancar arc shows how crucial Orihime should be and Aizen was smart enough to hid her away from Gotei 13.
@zeroskaterz92 Orihime fanboys like you are so fucking annoying, any criticism gets dismissed as "YoU dOn'T uNdErStAnD tHe ChArCaTeR" without any real counterargument
Yes! I honestly never got why people hated on her so much. The personal development of the characters is, what makes Bleach such an outstanding shounen title. And she is integral to that. I think the hate comes from people, who need to do some character development themselves.
You cooked ❤️ Orihime hate comes from the poor adaptation of her character in the original anime As well as a bit of misogyny She’s one of the best characters in the series
Hime is my waifu. Ichigo and I share a type and own it. Orihime has one of my favorite character arcs. She goes from being a damsel in distress with a traumatic abusive childhood to being the second most overpowered character with a fairy tale life with the man and family of her dreams. Even Aizen acknowledges her powers are insane and if she used them for offense she’d be a world killer. Also Hime is Misaki.
She's not useless and weak, Orihime is literally the strongest character in Bleach. If she wasn't as kindhearted and human and were willing to reject the existence of more than wounds she'd be a great threat.
@@KawaiiBandaids I agree with this cause the hate on momo is something that’ll never be changed. Like it’s weird how much people love to slander a character just cause giggles. And that’s how it is for her
People just think characters who don't fight on the mainlines are useless, and these brainless fight brained dumasses just can't think of anything but fights, they just ignore the characters, and the story People like that are some of my biggest gripes with the shonen community, especially one piece community
Thanks for explaining The things that they changed about her character If I want the full story is the manga better for that reason I know that the final arc is rushed but I have been watching thousand Year blood war as they come out
Nice!!! I’m glad this video was able to help you see and understand more of her story 🥰 I can’t wait for my next orihime video now I can’t wait for the next ep I hope you’ve been enjoying TYBW !
Such a beautiful character, ruined at the hands of Abe. You don't see a heroine like her often in shonen anime. She's true to herself and Kubo makes sure of it. So many useless "fans" think she should have her badass moment but honestly? everything about her is badass. she's a troubled soul that found love in her friends so she spreads that love instead of staying resentful. I absolutely LOVE her to death.
Exactly like they want badass moments she has a few early on in the first arc as a matter of fact like people don’t understand the importance of a supporting role and how vital it is. Ugh now I gotta mention this in my next video
SO TRUE!! her badassness comes from how strong she is in a setting that could easily crush anyone but she always has strength in ways that really make for a compelling character ;; especially for girls in shonen, she may not get the most epic fight scenes but her psychological fights feel very realistic and I’ve always been happy to see her written like a real girl going through arcs of grief, self esteem, improving herself, becoming her own person and the trope of “girl uses power of love” not being a trope here but an actual part of her human heart that makes her an irreplaceable member of the cast 🧡
I think it's fans always trying to have like the heroin from shonen need to be a badass because Sakura wasn't so anytime any female characters in a shonen jump series isn't a badass they're like old they're useless without understanding their there are more ways of fighting besides being on the battlefield and actually fighting their strength in different ways of fighting and protecting people but people don't see that all they see is oh she's a female and if she's not a badass like the men she's useless without understanding that this is a culture especially in Japan culture where you will have the women be the caregiver to protectors on the healers more so than you have them be the badass but everybody wants the female characters to be the badass especially if they're the main girl and not understanding that there's a role for every character including the main girl just because she's the main girl doesn't mean that she's going to be on the battlefield fighting side by side like they want but I do believe it's a whole thing about because people saw Sakura they kind of project that on to every shounen female character that don't do anything badass like if the female character is not doing something badass that to them they're useless and then they'll accuse the writer of being sexist and don't know how to write the females but it's just like no they know how to write the females it's just that you expect them to do something completely different than what they attended the characters to be cuz I never misunderstood or he may I knew what Orihine stood for.
I have a lot of other videos I’m currently working on so I can’t give a video but in terms of healers my list in order is Orihime Senjumaru Kirinji Unohana Isane Hanataro
Thank you so much for this video you did so amazing, Orihime deserves the best of things I loved how you also talked about how Orihime was the reason bleach started cause it’s true also how she’s a pacifist that people seems to not understand 🫶🏾👏
Of course ! Thankyou for liking the video and commenting and Like how can you not understand her being a pacifist? Btw I have more orihime videos I’m working hope to see you there!
Orihime is hated because it's very simple it's the Rukia or IchiRuki insufferable obnoxious fans as always, I have never seen a Rukia or an IchiRuki fan that's not hating her or at least being reasonable over the past 10-15 years..
To be honest I don't have a problem with Orihime as a character but I do have a problem with her crush on Ichigo, because to be honest basically orihime's personality and character is way too similar to Ichigo's sister Yuzu, I was thinking he would end up with either Rukia or Tatsuki but when I saw ichigo's other sister Karin who had the exact same personality and character as Tatsuki I thought he would end up with Rukia, Heck if I was being honest I was waiting for a plot twist where is revealed that Orihime and Tatsuki are ichigo's sisters from the future.🤣😂🤣😂
@@mia3033 dude it's been a long time regrettably I stopped reading after Orihime got kidnapped and taken to Hakeo Mundo (don't know if I spelled that right), the reason why is because I'm from the us and we have tons of stories about damsels in the Tower type scenarios, haven Kubo doing that once again after Rukia got taken to the soul Society, though I admit I did keep up through wikis and such I'm a little mad that I got the Miss the fight between Halowfied Ichigo and Ulquiorra, 😡 oh well 😥.
@@AnonymousEnigma19 fun fact orihime is the opposite of damsels because she went on her own accord not asking to be saved (also stood her ground with her own beliefs never falter), it was ichigo and the others who came for her and the hueco mundo arc is just a diversion aizen set up so the main goal wasn't rly only to rescue orihime. Theres actually a good parallel to compare between soul society and hueco mundo when it comes to rescuing rukia and orihime.
I always thought she should've been the one to cause Aizens downfall by "rejecting" the hogyoku out of existence. It would've made more sense then the resolution we got where it simply decided not to work anymore 😂
@@sifuhotman8595 no Aizen still has it, he then became one with the hogyoku and his zanpakuto. Which is why it started to fade/crumble away. Aizen is immortal lol
@@strawhatvibe I know it made him permanently immortal but I stg I remember it falling out his chest right before the sealing finished; guess I'll have to rewatch :). But it still stopped evolving him and reverted him back to normal in the end. That's the part I'm talking about. orihime should've been the one to cause that reversion.
@@sifuhotman8595 in terms of appearance it reverted him back sure but it didn’t stop evolving him that’s why he’s become stronger inside the Muken as stated by urahara. It never fell out of him the hogyoku is still working like it always has it’s become apart of Aizen nothing changed. Orihime’s ability would not be able to take that factor away.
I think, no matter how you look at it, Bleach is not meant for kids. Because kids don’t care about the depth of the story and the characters as much as the fights. I’m assuming that is why characters like Orihime were shoved to the side and didn’t get the attention they deserve in the anime. Not everyone gets Bleach and that’s so sad because they are missing out on a masterpiece.
exactly, its not your run of the mill shonen and kubo has this 'show than tell' type of writing. unfortunately most ppl missed this when it comes to ichigo and orihime's relationship and downright says it came out of nowhere while the show focuses on building their foundation first then the romance naturally comes later on.
@@Lighty-rn4ns Again, the story in my opinion is not even for teenagers. It is classified as shonen but it actually shouldn’t be. Of course, it has elements of shonen but other elements of the story are way too deep for the average teen to focus on or even care about.
@@Lighty-rn4ns The concept of life and death itself is being studied. The corrupt system of the people who rule the world (Soul Society), the villains who actually would have a point if you try to see things from their point of view (actually a world where there is no death is not that bad, don’t you think?), the depth of the story behind every single character, including side characters, would create a whole manga on its own, the subtle meanings behind every bond two characters have.. should I keep going? If this is not already deep enough I don’t know what is. There are just way too many aspects of Bleach that are not only deep but also beautiful. As I said, most of the targeted audience would see this as BS because they simply don’t care. All they care about is fights, heck they even judge a character solely based on how strong they are, nothing else 🤯
Orihime hate is so forced, studio Pierrot is majorly to blame for that but also Kubo like her character has so many good points but most shonen authors just suck at developing their female characters. Thank God Kubo gave us Rukia! Rukia is a 10, Orihime would be a 6 imo (in terms of writing)
@@strawhatvibe I’m talking writing wise, Rukia is way more developed elaborated and used than Orihime. Orihime imo is vaguely above surface level about writing a female character
@@thatoneintrovertedgirl that’s your opinion and I can tell you right now her writing is not above vague writing lol if you didn’t understand her writing that’s one thing but it’s another to say hers is a six when she has such great writing from the beginning to the end

6:19 i think i'm the only one who know this, good for you. question : why kubo never show orihime using all of his power?? i mean why orihime never used his power with all 5, santen ketsuhun use 3, koten zanshun use 1, shiten koshun use 4, so where orihime use his power with 5? 12:40 yeah, i was tired of all people saying it was white(they are so delusional), bc the fact is it was ichigo in his pure instinct. also rain isn't just that bc auswahlen also a rain, and orihime herself want to be a rain (bleach episode 7)
It’s probably really hard for her to use all 5 keep in mind she’s still learning about how she wants to be as a fighter and supporter for the whole group if we don’t get her using 5 that’s fine with me I think it’s more of both . White did foreshadow it and in the series white is the embodiment of Ichigo’s instinct so in a way it was both reasonings as to why he got back and ressurected. Auswahlen isn’t rain though. It’s reishi and even then its tied to Ichigo and uryu’s mom being killed so that also despair and grief
@@strawhatvibe it isn't both, ichigo fight hollow ichigo with ichigo's own instinct, and hollow ichigo can't handle it and give up that's why hollow ichigo said "Cih" when ichigo use his instinct to fight hollow ichigo. Rain of reishi is still a rain, it just the same thing.
@@User5hdbh go back to the fight. The thing that shows that it is both is when. After Ichigo just transformed Ulquiorra asked “who are you ?” And the response was to reach out his hand and to call over the blade of zangetsu. Something Ichigo has never done before
The most misunderstood part of Orihime is that, get this, she was a normal teenage girl. Ichigo has always seen spirits and gotten into fights, and Chad has also gotten into fights. Orihime has zero fighting experience. Like... people need to give her a break, she's just a quirky girl with a crush. Also, she b**** slapped Ulquiorra, anybody else do that? I rest my case.
We can argue about tite kubo and studio pierrot handled orihime (because her potential was definitely wasted in both the anime and manga), but orihime was definitely overhated (just like sakura from naruto). Hiw the hell are the studio pierrot executives and producers picking which female characters to hate versus like? Sakura and orihime aren't that similar to each other, just like rukia and hinata aren't similar to each other at all. It can't be looks, hair, body shape, personality, age, major/minor character status, or femininity versus masculinity levels. So the only thing i can think of is that they hate female characters that can't sexualize/objectify to hell and/or female characters that are more like real girls/women than female character archetypes and if those female characters like "bad/handsome/pretty boy" characters instead of "underdog/geeky/ugly/dorky/obnoxious boy" characters. Also, the sexualization of orihime did not help and was uncomfortable to watch and see - the scene of rangiku trying to tell orihime that she doesn't need to feel jealous of rukia could have been done without making a naked rangiku pin orihime to the ground or sexualizing them - and her crush on ichigo came off more like a young girl having a crush on a young boy that is seen as a "bad boy" than a waifu-like character (serving as the object of lust for the cis straight male audience) simping for the main male character (serving as the insert character for the cis straight male viewers).
@@mia3033 my comment wasn't about ichihime. It was me wondering how the studio pierrot executives and producers choose which female characters to hate versus like. The only similarities I could find between sakura from naurto and orihime from bleach are that they both debut in the series as young girls, act like real preteen/teen girls, were part of the main cast, and had a crush on a young boy that same age as them that is considered some type of a "bad boy".
@@mia3033 we are seeing bleach thru ichigo's eyes so we don't see him as a "bad boy". However, ichigo has stated that he has gotten into many fights and gets into trouble a lot because of his appearance, so by japanese standards, he is seen as a delinquent (one of the "bad boy" types). Definitely agree that sasusaku has way more issues than ichihime. [Thanks a lot manbaby studio pierrot executives and producers. Forcing kishimoto to change the ending of naruto to make naruhina canon endgame resulted in the manga crew, anime writers, side story writers, and animators ruin naruhina and sasusaku in naruto and boruto.]
@@medtle1 true he is a delinquent but with good means while sasuke literally turned to the other side, and also pierrot should stop adding things that wasn't in the manga. Ichigo and orihime were angsty teenagers dealing with their own insecurities, to which rukia assisted them in some ways (give pep talks and supporting them) thats why she was more like an older sister figure to both of them. Only over time ichigo and orihime sorted out their own issues and are more confident with themselves.
@@strawhatvibe I disagree, the only badass moment for her was the first awakening of her power when she was protecting tatsuki with the right mindset, the reflexive shield that both attacks and defend is a good idea but with a bad execution and anti climatic like many moments where she could have been better. You are just used to enjoy bad written female characters as a straight male, that's it. She's basically a trophy wife with no personality. Rukia has a weakness to her but she's still good and never accepted her status as a damsel in distress, it was the decision of others to save her.
@@raydaveed I already know you disagree. You’re here to spread your agenda of regardless of what I say she’s a bad character. I can name a bunch more scenes of her being “badass” but that’s not what I was talking about. You’re mixing badass character with great writing which is odd. But she has both badass moments and great writing. It’s your job to find them.
That is mostly an anime problem in the manga it is not as prevalent. In fact that is the problem with a lot of shounen anime in general. Especially with dialogue being repeated over and over again.
Ichigo RARELY gets to feel his emotions, and process them. his friends will see him look a little forlorn for five minutes and go "lol okay into the training basement you go, stop being such a baby and get over it."
Orihime is one of the few people who is reasonable and genlte with Ichigo, not exactly pitying him but worrying for his mind and heart. she knows he's her age, they share a lot of loss and she sees Ichigo being used as a weapon pointed in several directions by ADULTS all the time.

Literally someone's very existence. Just gone. 🤣
real, i keep getting bullied for liking her :(
The anime for most part censored how powerful Orihime really is. Her healing is beyond comprehension. Even when people lost portions of their brains. Not even Unohana or Kirinji could’ve restored Yamamoto‘s arm.
Is she the best healer ?
@@Iamnotddb she is. No Kaido user can do what Orihime can
Her powers are not healing tbh , even Aizen and Ulquiorra has theorized its not "healing", it's basically rejecting what happened , like "nuh uh" to everything
You understood the assignment 🤍☺️
The anime changed a lot regarding Ichigo and Orihime's relationship because they were IchiRuki fans. Like, in the manga, Orihime actually is the one who helps Ichigo make the decision to go save Rukia, while in the anime, she simply reaffirms his decision.

@strawhatvibe she started to show it when she stood up against Ginjo in Ichigo's training and again briefly when she was protecting Tsukishima playing more of a support than healer role. I hope she shows off her training more.
I also like how she's a bit of the classic feminine of the main character Ichigo. Both share so many similarities that when you break them down; makes their marriage feel like a match
We've seen what she can do and when she combines different fairies together; I'm hoping we'll get some new moves.
Rukia is definitely a mentor to them both
@@mikamicki yeah once you have this kind of perception you can kinda see why ichiruki doesnt work together romantically, yeah they are very close friends and have mentor-mentee vibe like with kaien too. ichigo and orihime in some ways were akward teenagers that needed support and guidance and rukia did help them in a lot of ways.
Speaking facts man I love her story so much ❤️
her story is really dark if the anime adapted well showing the flahsback better probably people will give her last hate and understand her better.
@@Fearless_Jay i think anime rly is to blame tho even without anime some do ship ichiruki still as their interactions were more easy to enjoy and straightforward, and most ppl prefer that kind of bickering chemistry.
But she does have great chemistry with him lol
The arrancar arc was sooo important for her! And I d oh don’t have an issue with her outfits they weren’t bad at all
I just wanna say this is such a FANTASTIC video, especially as someone who personally writes Orihime a lot and has done so much character analyze on her. You got everything about her down to a T!!!
They never make me hate you Orihime ❤
NEVER!
I believe that her ability is so powerful, if she had a chance to do it she could have reversed Bambi’s zombification.
I wholeheartedly believe this too!
This is why I chose the bleach manga over the anime

Great video man❤
Appreciate it😌😌
it's really the anime fault tbh it depicted her as many things and didn't elaborate on her past or like anything about her I wasn't very fond of her until this video because the anime left so many things out from the manga.
Agreed the anime didn’t do her Justice which is why I felt the need to make this video
I really enjoyed your video, keep it up. Ik you’ll go far 🩷🥹
Ty love means the world to me 💕💕💕
I love Orihime.
@@SemekiIzuio omg yes!!! You get it!!! I’d even say the fight against Grimmjow for the third time embodies that as well!

She has a very powerful ability but she has weak will power and doesn't fully trust them.
She doesn’t want to use her attack powers everything else is perfect
She has weak killing intent*
Fixed it for you.
If she had better trust in her powers, she would've realized that Tsubaki wouldn't kill innocent people and only gotten rid of anything possessing them.
Orihime is the most woman of all time
If people were expecting a op beast in orihime they can't even translate her name.
Did that for arrancar more than the good guys too strange enough
Plus on a character stand point.
She is far beyond than Tsunade or dense she literally brought back people from the dead, their bodies were just ashes and she brought them back.
@@Proaz15 wrong too. It's based on orihime's strength of will. If she believes she can't save someone it won't work as fast. But the problem there is Kubo only remembers that when the plot is not affected
I mean if her power worked well.
People always blame the anime adaptation but I think the issue runs deeper, manyn viewers/readers are dissapointed in her character because the expectations were high
If Orihime was simply a healer, many people wouldn't complain, but Kubo didn't give her just healing, but the power to reject reality itself, a power praised even by Aizen himself, and combined with her short training session, it's bound to create hype.
This!! There were expectations that were not met. Useless? No. Disappointing character path? Yes IMO

Orihime fanboys like you are so fucking annoying, any criticism gets dismissed as "YoU dOn'T uNdErStAnD tHe ChArCaTeR" without any real counterargument

@@AnonymousEnigma19 damn what manga you've been reading bro
Maybe it's not for kids, but still it's for teenagers. It's shonen if you forgot
@@Lighty-rn4ns Again, the story in my opinion is not even for teenagers. It is classified as shonen but it actually shouldn’t be. Of course, it has elements of shonen but other elements of the story are way too deep for the average teen to focus on or even care about.
@@8LotusFlower8 I think it's not so deep to be classified as adult story
What part of her is a 6 and rukia is a ten? I think both are 10’s

12:40 yeah, i was tired of all people saying it was white(they are so delusional), bc the fact is it was ichigo in his pure instinct.
also rain isn't just that bc auswahlen also a rain, and orihime herself want to be a rain (bleach episode 7)
It’s probably really hard for her to use all 5 keep in mind she’s still learning about how she wants to be as a fighter and supporter for the whole group if we don’t get her using 5 that’s fine with me
I think it’s more of both .

@@User5hdbh go back to the fight. The thing that shows that it is both is when. After Ichigo just transformed Ulquiorra asked “who are you ?” And the response was to reach out his hand and to call over the blade of zangetsu. Something Ichigo has never done before
@@strawhatvibehollow ichigo also never done it lol
@@strawhatvibeeven tensa zangetsu himself say that ichigo is the one who defeat ulquiora
Ulquiorra had some tough ass Hierro, he was an Espada. No.4. So I know her hand stung after that, it was bold though.
I think she’s deeper than just a quirky girl with a crush. But it’s up to people to actually look deeper into why she’s the way she is
We can argue about tite kubo and studio pierrot handled orihime (because her potential was definitely wasted in both the anime and manga), but orihime was definitely overhated (just like sakura from naruto).
@@medtle1 crush can turn into love its not that deep bro
@@mia3033 my comment wasn't about ichihime. It was me wondering how the studio pierrot executives and producers choose which female characters to hate versus like. The only similarities I could find between sakura from naurto and orihime from bleach are that they both debut in the series as young girls, act like real preteen/teen girls, were part of the main cast, and had a crush on a young boy that same age as them that is considered some type of a "bad boy".
@@medtle1 i agree with you but tbh ichigo isnt someone i would put as bad boy. If anything sakura x sasuke had more issues being canon
She's a victim of bad writing that's it.
Still one of my favourite characters on the show though.
bad writing is chad who was abandoned
Not even it was a poor adaptation kubo did a fantastic job in the manga
@@strawhatvibe Sure! Convert to the agenda mortal 😂🤡.
If you keep saying kurosaki Kun and interrupting fights every scene you pop up then ppo r gonna get pissed at you not misunderstand you
That is mostly an anime problem in the manga it is not as prevalent. In fact that is the problem with a lot of shounen anime in general. Especially with dialogue being repeated over and over again.
They change her character in the anime
@@daenoslived407 once again that’s because of the poor anime adaptation we received like i said in the video
Interrupting fights every scene? Where? You spew this without even giving evidence.
@@zeroskaterz92 It's the other way around, actually. Remember when she was about to clap Yammy but Ichigo wanted all the glory to himself?
Its still shit writing by Kubo no matter how you guys try to stretch it.
how is it stretching, he literally uses the manga as source lol. its not shit writing just bcoz shes not your fav
Keep crying
People love to hate for no reason😂 hate to see it

I’m so thankful of your kindness 😌🩷
