  • I run the car sensored and sensorless both without boost and with boost (47˚ motor and 62˚ boost). In this video I run boost starting at 20k rpm as opposed to 6k rpm. The results are interesting.

Great video Ty for the great tips info. It does make sense about 60 degrees you explained everything very well

Thank you and it is a pleasure too. Hopefully I get some gears soon to do some competitive blinky tuning with timing.

    Thanks for the mention
Lower your can timing to lets say 30* and change your gearing it will go faster, I ran yesterday 2.84 in blinky on a dts on gnss this a 2.99.
I have another traxxas running a slot machine with boost in 2.40s that's about 2.8 on gnss

Thank you. This is a 13.5T stock I am using to test sensor vs. sensorless, and boost vs. no boost. The car was originally set up to just go full throttle and straight without much driver attention.
But you have given me a great idea as the relationship between timing and gearing is important. Thank you. 😁

      @@telecomandorc iam running also a 13.5T R1 V21 motor.
We have here 2 guys running the v10 and one is running 2.77 and the other 2.78 both with DR10s, iam running a dragslash with a full R1 combo motor, esc, batteries.
Everyone is at the minimum weight of the class iam still at 2125gr hopping to shave about 60 more grams see if I can get in the 2.80 zone or better.love your videos and I can wait for the next one to come out.

Now, I has the Drag Car just to relax and mess around. But now you have planted the seed and I want to pursue numbers 😅
I do have a HW, R1, and Trinity all in 13.5T. The R1 peaks soon compared to the other two. That may be a good option.

Great video but you need to mess with the gearing on both blinky and boosted tunes you can hear the rpm’s top out way before the you even cross the finish line very good for the short track but suffers on the back half

My goal was to just show the difference. But Giomally Sille made me get the speed bug. I will, at some point, start tuning this 13.5T blinky more competitively. I just need to get my gears it. The ones I have are too narrow, and I am afraid to destroy the spur.

@@telecomandorc I say if it more then half the coverage on the spur to pinion you’re fine I’d say the most important thing is the mesh plus you will destroy spurs it’s part of the hobby

@@slashraptor9317 Most of my gears are for TC and they cover about half or just under. Plus, I might as well get some 72T and 68T spurs too to really play with the ratios.

I have a question. If you have a sensored motor that has 44˚ of timing, and then need to run the motor backwards like in a mid motor Traxxas conversion. What happens to the timing? Should I set the timing on the motor end bell to 30˚ or? Motor is a Trinity Revtech X-Factor 13.5, ESC is a Hobbywing XR10 Pro. I'm building a racing Slash with a Nitro Slash chassis like the one you built, running mid motor so I have to run the motor in reverse but the motor has timing on it and I'm not sure what settings I need to mess with.

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  6 месяцев назад

The sensor board and esc will take care of everything. You can set timing in the end bell. Make sure you do not just reverse rotation on the Tx. Maybe this will help to set the rotation: ruclips.net/video/Z44y_kW5xZM/видео.html
Once the rotation is set correctly, the esc will calculate everything based on the rotation and end bell timing.
