When stoplight challenges arise, seldom do we get to choose our opponent. This channel does a nice job of mixing different vehicles up. The Infiniti Q here is a solid performer. Acura just seems to be behind the HP expectations by a few years, and that gap appears to be more than a 50hp difference, especially with a 10speed.

Meanwhile, the Z, Supra, and other Japanese cars are in the same price range, but they look like actual sporty two door coupes.
Even in the video above, the Acura and Infiniti are so much better looking than the SS.
I know looks are in the eye of the beholder, but I hope the next generation of the Camaro takes some cues from the C8 vette. If the Camaro looked better, I'd be jumping all over it. Instead, I'll likely be getting the Z in the near future.

I love the TLX Type S. I think it's a gorgeous car but I really wonder why Acura didn't give it more power to offset its huge weight disadvantage. It's better than almost all of the cars in the tier just beneath it and it's the worst among all the cars in its direct class or slightly above. Very disappointing considering how nice it looks and how well it's put together in other areas. I don't know what's going on with Honda and Acura lately. The designs of their newer cars are certainly more attractive but they are severely lagging in the power department, which is most un-Honda like. Consider the '23 Accord for example. The 10th generation Accord 2.0T was punching way above its weight class and they completely neuter the new Accord with a 204 hp hybrid engine being the top engine choice. Honda seems to be forsaking performance and embracing green technology. I think they can do both though. Case in point being the Civic. They give us the option of the fuel sipping Civics and also offer the vivacious Type R Civic. Why not make the hybrid engine of the new Accord the base engine and keep the 2.0T in the upper trim? Same with the TLX. Neither version is great on gas so why not at least make them more powerful? The Type S and the 4 cylinder TLX both need at least 30 more horsepower. Honda/Acura have top engineers. Why bother if you're targeting last place? Don't pretend to be performance oriented and not bring it. I'm a life long Honda/Acura fan but I'm truly disappointed with what seems to be very mediocre effort from this once great performance brand.

Heck the first reviews of the Type-S were all on the track....it was not designed to be a luxury car first, they just missed the mark as it is not really that luxurious at the end of the day. One would assume that Acura would have wanted to give their new top performance sedan more hp than an older model. But no. They preferred to give it less. For whatever reason they had. Even with discontinuing the NSX with 500hp motor + electric hybrid for 600hp. One could make an argument that they could have taken that motor 500hp motor, even detuned to 450hp, and put it in the Type S. The 3.0L Turbo 6 should have been the previous model V6 replacement. Acura offered 4cyl & 6cyl models in previous TLX model. Detuned NSX engine should have been Type S motor. Just my opinion
