  • Who knew Yamaha Motors had a theme song? This very rare promotional 7" was apparently given away to select Yamaha Motorcycle dealers in 1980! I love that hilarious cocky blurb on the backside; yeah, I'm 𝑡𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 sure people are going to be humming this banger. I actually found an advertisement that plays this song so click the annotation if you'd like to see this song in its' natural habitat: a cheesy 80's shlock advertisement.

I worked at a Honda/Yamaha dealer in 80-85 and I remember the sales guys playing this.

This STILL Plays in My Head every time I fade Away on My 2015 VMAX. I Remember this like it was Yesterday. I passed My Driver's Licence test on a Yamaha Maxim X 5 valve Genesis, Rode it 6 Months & Traded it in for A New 1985 V-Max 1200. Rode it for 30 Years & Got a 2015 & Still On it. "The way It Should Be".

I'm very surprised that I didn't know about this as I have been into bikes all my life and have a collection of classic Japanese bikes including 7 Yamaha models. Thanks for posting this.

Just got my first sled, a '79 enticer 340 and I'm already a yamaha fan. I payed $300 cuz the things pretty beat up but she still starts right up with a couple pulls and after riding it for the first time today I'm impressed. That little 340 has some balls and the things light enough my 5'2" ass can throw it around pretty easy.
