- When you take a look at Joaquin Phoenix's performance as Arthur Fleck, it has to be up there as one of the best interpretations of the Joker character ever. And for that reason, I had to make a video on it!
Hope y'all enjoy and don't forget to leave a like and sub! Thanks everyone. - Развлечения
Joaquin is something else bro. Calling him just an actor would be an insult. He's one of the best to ever do it.
“Tool” would be a much better descriptor.
Truss and only saw gladiator and joker. It just proves why his Oscar winner perfection

...but he is just an actor lol
I can't help but think the fact about dying on the sidewalk at 4:40 is related to River Phoenix, the cracking in his voice as he says it breaks my heart
as somebody who is mentally ill and has been in the mental health system my whole life sadly i have to say that jokers depiction of it is one hundred percent accurate. the powers at be that decide where the funding goes dont care about the therapist and they dont care about the patients at all.
true dat in finland too
hope you get better
“Doesn’t do Easter eggs” proceeds to make an Easter egg reference to a previous movie with the joker in it
The painting? A set designer probably threw it in, and the director didn't know
@@streetguru9350 no the reference to his previous film.
What's that old saying it's not you it's me worry about your acting my acting just sucked at that minute
Yeah I totally saw that too. Mr Phillips, that is an easter egg, whether you like or not.
Buuuuut it's a great movie so I think we can let him for this one.
This wasn't a movie/character meant to start a franchise off of. As much as I'd love to see more of his character, it just wouldn't work in a Batman movie. I think this movie was something more than that. It was a message, portrayed by one of the best comic villains in history. It was executed extremely artistically, and the end result was very profound.
Shows the struggle and danger that can be posed by men let down by society and without a true loving feminine force. Probably why it didn't get the best funding and had the media against it initially.
Really dude? It was just a movie well directed with an excellent cast there was no moral to the story, it was just a story of a comic book villain. Quit acting like it was so artistically deep and emotionally profound. Its just a movie
@@seansullivan7928 sounds like ur having a rough time, I'm sorry for whatever you're going thru
@@autonomous8108 why, cause i gave you the reality of your stupid comment? Dont be so ridiculously pretentious
@@autonomous8108 no need for the snide comment. Everybody is entitled to their own interpretation of the movie.
The right hand/left hand thing actually has a tie to the Batman comic books. One issue had Batman and Robin signing autographs. A friend mentioned to Robin that a criminal could use their signatures to compare handwriting and figure out who they were. Robin said that would be impossible because, while Batman and Robin are right handed, they always sign autographs left handed so the letters will be different in style.
IMO that scene when he meets a young Bruce Wayne honestly goes down as one of if not the best Batman scenes ever. If only either of them knew at the time how much their lives would cross paths in the future
The joker is one of the best movies ever made. So different, so intriguing, so perfect.
You know Taxi Driver?
@@svensantesson2020 I've heard if it I think but never watched it.
@@justinwiseman8965 I Love Joker to, and watched Taxi Driver after too.
Buuuuuut, Taxi Driver is the older movie, and it does many things Joker "copies". Joker doesnt Copy everything, and not cheap, but some very good parts, Just werent that "new" With Joker.
The director says he hates Easter eggs and doesn't do them yet the Ethan Chase character was an Easter egg. So is the blue boy painting
I though the exact same thing about the same things!
Right. Phillips is being very disingenuous with that statement. The best example being the way the numbers 10-2 appear in order in different scenes with "Ace" being seen instead of 1 in the final scenes.
And the super rats
like he said, that's just accidental **wink wink**
Came to say the same thing, would give ya a like but…69
Love this movie, it so depicts realities of the 70s and 80s
I would imagine someone has already said this but I didn't see it mentioned , might have missed it...but M. Night's "Unbreakable" is the first movie that consists entirely of what is typically the first act in a superhero movie, the origin. The whole movie is an origin story and is still one of the best "superhero" flicks ever made, in my opinion, even though it wasn't based on an existing comic. And what's really great is that it's not only the origin story of the hero but also his nemesis. Good schtuff. (good video, by the way)
Then he had to lie about the other movies not being sequels because unbreakable flopped. Sad really. It was M. Night's best work since 6th sense.
@darkhobo it was his first movie right after Sixth Sense, and I still think Unbreakable is probably his best overall movie. Although, I was pretty impressed with Knock at the Cabin. Overall pretty good flick but I was really impressed by Dave Bautista's performance. He carried that movie.
The way you spelled shtuff is good shtuff lol
"split" was another great movie by m.night. I feel it's super slept on
What a great movie. Very real. Very relatable.
He's literally me

“Tight budget of $55 million “ 😂
Considering most comic book movies are $200+ million, yeah, that's pretty tight. And Phoenix's pay alone was $4.5 million. Now add in all the other actors, and extras, craft services, director, producers, camera operators, sound people, lighting, paying to close off city blocks for filming, editors, special effects, costume designers, makeup, props, armorer for the guns, safety personnel, stunt coordinators/actors, assistants, janitors, etc....And that's not even close to an exhaustive list of people involved in the making of a movie.
A movie that only cost $55 million making over $1 billion is absolutely ridiculous, and so far, it's the only movie ever to do so.
"The Joker" is not normally the type of movie I watch, but I've seen it and thought it was outstandingly good.
I don't believe that this is the origin story of the The Joker. The age difference between Bruce and Fleck is just too large of a gap. I think that Fleck was indeed an inspiration for who would eventually become The Joker.
Agreed
at least there are 3 Jokers according to the comics
@@OiM8__ There’s more than that including Robin.
Joker and Robin die and evolve three out the comics
Especially because the real Joker was about equal to Batman in a fight. This Joker got his ass kicked by children. Also, he would be a senior citizen by the time Bruce becomes Batman.
Bro I love your videos. Just found you today and cant help but binge watch.
True masterpiece. Impossibly surpassing Heath Ledgers rendition.
He saw that the marvel films focus and rely only on huge dramatic CGI moments, whilst he was more interested in acting lmao
Masterpiece...🖼️
Nope
“Hates Easter eggs” places Easter eggs. Ending font, Murray’s guests name…
@4:33 don't forget his brother River died on the sidewalk,im sure that had a lot to do with that particular image.
I love this channel, can watch for ages.
One of the best and relatable movie I ever saw
Beautifully executed, i enjoyed it vry much
"I don't do Easter eggs"
Has the blue boy painting in Fleck's apartment
Awesome! I'm here early :) great video.
Wow so much there I didn't know about. Great cast in a memorable movie that will be a timeless classic.
One of the few decent movies released in a while.
‘Only having a budget of 55 million dollars’ bruh
awesome awesome video thank you!
He doesn't do easter eggs? But he drops actors from his prior movie and their character name as well?
Dude seems like he has a massive ego
Yeah, quite a lot of references I'd consider easter eggs, the blue boy painting for example.
Imo it's the best super hero movie since Dark Knight. No easter eggs, overuse of CGI, or nonstop action. I get it, everyone has their own taste, it just did so much for me as a movie. I hope the sequel is as great.
What a Genius the way her played The Joker
definitely a top 5 movie!!!!!!
No
Todd Phillips: i dont do easter eggs.
Joker movie: several obvious easter eggs
That Batman in the mirror thing is a far ass stretch lmao
I had a buddy in hs who’s dad had this condition. Any stupid joke and he would absolutely lose control laughing completely uncontrollably
I can't wait for the sequel.
What is the music played in the background for this video? It's so gorgeous I can't stop listening
Excellent movie! Your take on this future classic was excellent as well!
epic disturbing and brilliant!!!
Unbreakable is a origin villain movie so is the birds-of-paradise
Todd Phillips: "I don't do easter eggs." @13:55 - Literally 2 easter eggs in one scene. The same joker painting and naming the comedian on the T.V. Ethan Chase. Ok Todd.
I wish someone would make a version of the Joker on the basis that he is super-sane, meaning that all this time, he knows that he's a fictional character that exists in a fictional world.
Well, actually it seems to me that this movie explores that theme somehow, but not in the most obvious way, which I think is a good thing. There are some scenes that suggest that the Joker is acting solely for us the public in the theater. Try to watch it again as if it was the story that a super-sane Joker is telling us.
The deleted scene with Arthur in the bathtub? He was JOKING off.
For somebody that doesn't like Easter eggs.................
I find it interesting the abbreviation of brothers, "bros." is now a noun of its own.
Vincent may not be very good at his job but his willingness to do those jobs is why he was still around. Even amongst criminals, finding people willing to do jobs like Vincent does where extreme violence is needed is not easy. Most people including criminals would have a hard time murdering 3 people they didnt know for something that didnt belong to them. When you do find someone willing to do it and keep his mouth is a very rare you keep them around
Punisher would be the first villain origin movie. Before he caught on and became an anti-hero, he was originally a villain in the Spider-Man comics.
Venom and Cat Woman also were out before Joker.
My favorite part is bryan callen being one of the other clowns and barely having a line in it, yet whenever he mentions being in the film on podcasts he name drops hard and acts like he was a main. Such a clown indeed
What about Venom? That’s an origin story.
The Batman “easter egg” would have been cool if that was true, it I’m glad he didn’t add that ambulance or any other little thing. This movie was perfect. 10/10. I didn’t know about the left hand thing. Gonna watch it again.
I noticed the hand switch on my first watch but only in the scene where hes writing in his apartment. Now I'm going to look for this next time!
Honestly, this film was a tier above Citizen Kane.
It's a groundbreaking film that also creates an inversion of the three act structure, where the Joker reaches his highest point in the second act, when we usually associate the hero being at the lowest point...
Except that the Joker is no hero. He's the villain.
And we are all too aware of this because the savagery keeps us connected to the horror of what is going on, and instead of the Joker being at his lowest point in the second act, it is us, the audience that is at *our* lowest point, just as the Joker is finally breaking loose.
This is, in my opinion, just as groundbreaking as anything done in Orson Welles movie, which explored a thematic journey rather than just another fanciful traipse down treacle lane.
SUCH A GOOD MOVIE
Phenomenal film.
his joke book was his journal
Heard an interview with Tarantino who said if you didn’t see this with an audience, in particular the talkshow assassination scene, you “had a handjob instead of a threesome.”
Haha! Damn!
Sorry I missed that then.
This was ALMOST a Horror flick with that music, the violence, but mostly its menace. I can see why superhero fanboys would find it boring. I thought it was a spectacular Artfilm and the ultimate anti-hero story.
It’s “The Shinning” of superhero movies.
"I don't do Easter eggs." Video goes on to point out Easter eggs. 🤔

After my Brain injury I experienced the uncontrollable laughter for about 2 years: I even laughed uncontrollably while my sister and her fiancé were at the Altar saying their wedding vows.
28 years later I still suffer from feeling a strong urge to laugh at the wrong time: but I have learned to get a hold of it.💫
He was not dancing in the bathroom he was doing Tai Chi movements. Meditative moves.
I have heard of the serial killer, John Wayne Gacy, but I never studied him in detail. NEVER would I have thought there was a similarity in my favourite film. Pogo the Clown (John Wayne Gacy), Pogo's Comedy Club, HIS MAKE UP IS SO UNCANNY TO POGO OMG
Powerful movie.
Best joker ever
This movie is pure gold, A1 acting
It would be awesome if you did O Brother Where Art Thou.
If the black lady wasn't such a batch to Arthur, everything would be different
Joker really lives up to his character. of course he is the only comic book vilain to gross a billion dollars
The ambulance is the one from the dark knight rises
What about 2004's "Catwoman"? Doesn't THAT movie focus on her origin story?
It’s a shame we will never see this joker interacting with Batman
That last bit was annoying "sometime he would walk out mid scene but never with De Nero as he had to much respect for him"
So the dozens of other people working on set don't deserve his respect then?
I know he's talented in the dressing up box world. But fuck me what an ego!!
His own brother died on a sidewalk. Pain from truth to create fiction. Amazing. He's an amazing actor!
He overdosed on drugs at a party.

The King Of Comedy is such an underrated flick.
When I saw him dancing in the bathroom my first though was Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now.
Excellent comparison!
Venom came out before Joker also Catwoman if you count that
His opening statement is every reason why this joker is the best joker
Because it was a look at mental illness thinly disguised as a super hero movie.
Phoenix's Joker is not part of the DC universe or storyline of sorts....its completely a different movie on its on
ACKCHUAUAUALLLY the painting the jack nicholson joker was fond of was "figure with meat" by francis bacon, not the blue boy which was by thomas gainsborough.
Anyone else notice the sidewalk line... River Phoenix collapsed on the sidewalk outside the Viper Room in 1993 and later died. Joaquin was there. I wonder if this is what he meant?
"I don't do Easter eggs."
13:45 This 100% has to be an Easter egg. 😄No way this was just a "mistake".
