I have no problem with using a proprietary switch, it just needs to be a good switch. Would still like to see you make a slimmer switch for your REIN lights.

Congratulations Cloud, you have found a way to separate me from more of my money. I've progressively been migrating everything over to cloud with my setups reliant on surefire ecosystems for switching being last. I now have no reason to not buy a cloud light for my rifles. Need that x300 package pistol light next to start the pistol migration.

More mounting options for your proprietary switches would be another possible improvement. I have the 2.0 but wish it had a more riggid mount like the aftermarket ones you offer for other competitors tape switches.

I've got 2 1st generation Rein lights and an OWL, great products!
Cloud defense is absolutely killing it. Not just with their products but with their customer service too. They are really all about the end user. I'll tell ya, after hearing how they took care of a teammate, I'm really thinking about switching over. I am running a Modlite OKW WL right now on my kit, mainly because I like unity switches. The system works great and is reliable as many of you may know who have Modlite, so really no need to get a whole different light for my system. However, given what I learned about Cloud Defense... I'm making the switch if not only to support these guys, regardless of the cost of a new light. The fact they made their legacy bodies compatible with my existing system is just a cherry on top. Keep rocking it @Cloud Defensive, don't ever change. Can't wait for a pistol light!

Fantastic! I love my rein 3.0 but Unity switches are my absolute favorite. It’s weird bc the rein 3.0 is easily the best rifle light but unity makes the best switches.
I imagine the additional head-threads also help with thermally coupling the head to the body, to leverage the body as a more effective heatsink. Thus reducing thermal throttling. Well done. 👍
Once again showing that CD is king and will remain king in the light world for the foreseeable future.

I made my Rein 3.0 oem switch work for me using a Magpul 45 degree Mlok to 3 slot picatinny adapter I had modified the ends that I mounted to a left side Mlok rail on my Scar 16. It is easier to actuate in that position and still gives me a full 80,000 candela. I still appreciate CD adapting to Surefire style pressure switches even with the small drop in performance.

That’s cool and all but I just love the Cloud Switches how they come out the side of the light body so the wire can be clean and close into the gun in a way that’s not possible with the other switches.
I got a couple of rein 2.0 the kther day for a substantial discount, figured Id try them out. Let's just say that Im blown away at how good they are compared to my scout pros. Then I see the legacy body and can basically sell my surefires, and grab the 3.0 legacy kits for what I sold them for, and can use the remote awitches I already have? LFG. I got one legacy kit and holy crap that 3.0 is nuts.

Absolutely amazing this was the only thing back. I'll be upgrading all of my rifles with cloud lights now! Will we see a micro legacy body for 18350 or a standard 3.0 micro. Also love seeing that lwrc up there!!!!!!!! 🎉

Have you done any testing the with 1.0 and 2.0 heads as well?
I have six reins now. Micro 1.0’s for inside work on and Full & micro 3.0’s for everything else. All have the cloud switches and torrent mounts. I personally think they are more robust and cleaner looking. No wire bent out the back of light is a good look and durable. #onlyclouds 🤝

Do my old rein 1 lights work with this if I wanted ? I have 3 rein 1.0 lights I bought them before 2.0 and 3.0 came out and I love them to death but do they work?
Honestly make a modbutton size switch and you cover the only reason i can see to go backwards to the SF switches until yall make ir lights

All the output loss is very similar. Differences exist but are small. The big take away here is that with a 3.0 head you can get 1100 lumens and 90k candela out of those switches. 👊

Extremely happy with my 3.0, and have repeatedly defended this great company on IG to the whiners and crybabies (who wanted this, and who ALWAYS cry about “when is the pistol light you promised coming?” This company upgrades and releases when needed and when their product is READY. Are you guys planning on making a button to rival the modbutton that retains full power? A single button that would be small enough to fit in front/behind a modbutton for use in conjunction with a LAM would be perfect.
Or just a button of your own to work with both LAM’s and CD lights?

That’s an old prototype that is non-production-grade. We have longer switches coming though. Hang in there.

The REIN has significantly more candela so you will be able to throw light at a much greater distance.

The heads are the same. It will work with all three generations of the REIN head.

Are your light heads compatible with arisaka body's?
Arisaka does not currently offer a body to fit our light head. The threads on the Rein head are slightly larger to accommodate the increased output capability.
All of our Rein lights including the Rein Legacy body will fit Arisaka, Surefire, and other similar Scout style light mounts, however, if that is your concern. Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

We are 3 generations in and have been promised tape and other styles of switch development the entire time.
@@benjaminlanzotti1374 plainly they weren’t making equipment to be cross-compatible, and they have no requirement to. I ditched my m640DF because Rein is just better. I don’t speak for everyone but frankly I don’t need a surefire switch to satisfy me in this way. Consider Apple’s relationship with all Android manufacturers. They have not conformed to “industry standard” USB type-C, and they still reign supreme over all phone manufacturers (in my opinion). I don’t think it’s reasonable to view their lack of support for other switches as a problem.
So now everything works together, but at a very slight cost to output performance. Still not a “problem” though. They have no duty to provide every consumer with the best switch and the best beam and the best mounting and the best overall profile. I would say the performance and reliability benefits outweigh the slight inconvenience of no surefire or other brand switch.
@@nilknoc101 I don't disagree...they don't "owe" anyone anything, but there are circumstances where their switching is a problem.
I don't think it's a big deal for AR's especially because most people are only going to have white lights anyway...so it sitting on the top rail isn't a huge issue.
BUT for guys that have more than just a white, or like in the case of a shotgun mounting that switch is an issue and cumbersome in operation.
Particularly the latter for me as a tape switch/pressure pad would completely eliminate the issue there. It's just hard for me to imagine that somehow a switch can't be produced within 3 generations that allows the light to function as intended.
I have a Rein 1.0 and even though its technically obsolete compared to the 2.0 and 3.0--that light still rules. I think I'm going to pick one of these up and run it with a Unity switch. Very glad you guys made this and it sucks that the new body won't work with the battery jack--that's a great feature. Thanks for continuing to push to the forefront of WML technology. Any plans for IR heads?
I'm also satisfied with my older Cloud Defensive lights. Does this new offering also work with the earlier Cloud Defensive lights? I'd love to add Unity Hot Buttons to my REIN Micros.
