    Cannot believe no mention of the 1998 172hp 1000 or that it was made until 2002.

    The Thundercat will never be the same, i own a 98 tcat and it is my dream sled and the only sled i ever wanted. I wish they would come out with a tcat with a 2 stroke triple with power valves.

    I have had 2 tcats 94 and 97 the chassis couldn't handle the torque with picks. Rivits were all falling out so i got rid of them. Now i have the little brother 98 zrt600 with 2001 flatslides. i love it. We still ride them every year my wife has the 2001 zrt600 she wont let me get her something newer. She loves that thing it runs like a beast with those apv valves. Nothing compares to the triple two stroke sound 👍

    I have had several sleds, way back when the polaris was a 6 hp and the doo was roughly the same, the 600 pdr etreme i had was quick quick, but found the 97 - V-Max 4 also one of mine was sluggish. So I went out and bought a 1997 Thundercat. Hopefully all will have a Safe and enjoyable winter , especially on your snowmobile, Drive safe,and have fun.

    Bought a 94 Tcat last winter. Loved it for the month or so that I rode it. Blew the motor doing a lake run. It’s on the shelf for now. Next summers project and will be on the trails next winter

    I miss those good years fr 1988-1998 making the Trip with Arctic Cat for the Annual New Line Up Rides for the Photo Shoots and Later Videos. Having a Family member in Upper Management secured me a Spot in the Spotlight for 10 years. Sadly all the Snowmobiles all look alike and look like Crotch Rockets. And everyone rides with no care or concern for others. Glad I got our of the sport many years ago. But still own a Barn full of Vintage Arctic Cats. Several El Tigre' Series 6000's from 1978-1981. '74, '78 Panteras. And a 1982 Eltigre' that is still in the Factory Crate never opened.

      Wowza your a Cat man for sure! I was a Polaris guy, but those early cat A-arm sleds were good lQQking machine's. I've got a couple in the side yard. The lack of front bumpers mean that lots were crushed, and are hard to find today!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠

    I love all of the old muscle sleds. My favorite is probably the Vmax 4 just because my everyday trail/ditch banging sled is a vmax, but I think that the thundercat and the Indy storm are cool too.

    Arctic did test a prototype 1100 variable exhaust triple 2 stroke, almost 200h.p. but was deemed a huge insurance risk. They also put the 1000 triple in a pantera 2 up, the thundercouch. Had one. Could smell the brakes burning slowing down from 100 with a passenger. INSANE!

    Do not try to compare this POS to a real Arctic Cat. If I wanted a stinking Yamaha, Id buy one. Cat is dead to me.

    I can't believe that you guys tried to take the old mid-90s Thundercat and try to compare to the new 3 cylinder 4-stroke turbo Thundercat which would absolutely get stomped on the ice if the Thundercat had pics the real Thundercat I mean I hate when they put new Arctic Cats the new cheap junk plastic up against the old hardcore Suzuki 3 cylinder most high output snowmobile engine they ever made and they try to compare to a new trending 2019 snowmobile I don't even have a name for the 2019 snowmobile because they're all the same they make me sick

    • @snappydavegood8820
      @snappydavegood8820 7 лет назад +7

      ...but that 'dumptruck" will outrun ANYTHING on the snow, and that Yami motor only made it better.

    • @GeorgieSvfaceoff
      @GeorgieSvfaceoff 7 лет назад +1

      Keep your ugly ass dumptruck. I don't care what it can beat. I can have just as much or more fun on my old 900 tcat, or even my 1980 jag. New sleds are all ugly as fuck, they sound like SHIT, and they sit higher than mount Everest. The new tcat is no exception, and it seems like a whole lot to sacrifice for another 8 more hp than the 1998 tcat. I also love how ppl say how the 4 stroke turbo setup is SO much better and more powerful than 2 strokes, but theyre hardly any more powerful than the 2 stroke old triples that are almost 20 years old...

    • @WilliamStewart1
      @WilliamStewart1 7 лет назад +7

      john ick You say that, but they come stock with 200+up, are capable of running deep into the 120's stock, and have gone over 150mph with nothing more than some clutch work and a tune. Yes triples are cool, and yes they sound great, but they have become irrelevant in the world of making big reliable power all the while being very efficient. Ergonomics aren't something to bash either, you can actually corner sleds now as they drive like they're on rails, no more drifting. Saying the things you have just makes you yourself sound old and irrelevant.

    • @GeorgieSvfaceoff
      @GeorgieSvfaceoff 7 лет назад +1

      if you put a turbo in a 2 stroke, we both know how much faster itd be than a 4. My point is, 2 strokes can make way more power, its basic science. they're less reliable though

    • @WilliamStewart1
      @WilliamStewart1 7 лет назад +6

      john ick That couldn't be farther from the truth, put a turbo kit on an 800 and you get what, 220-250 horsepower? You can get 300 out of the stock turbo on the sidewinder, swap it out for a larger turbo and you can go up to 350 without touching anything inside the engine. Look at the turbo apex sleds as Well, they've gotten something like 700+ horsepower out of those things. The 2 strokes can't be pushed with boost like the 4 strokes, they can't handle it. Naturally aspirated yes of course it's a no contest, the 2 stroke will always make more power cube for cube, they don't hold up under boost though.
