At 39 years old, I've just realized that John Williams' music is woven throughout my entire childhood. It's beautiful and brings back wonderful memories. Stunning musician. 😊
I never get tired of watching this. I grew up with all of these movies. Their themes so iconic and bring back such powerful memories and emotions same as when I first saw those scenes. Without his music, they wouldn't be half the powerhouse movies they were. He is one of a kind.
Between Jaws - Star Wars - Raiders of the lost ark and E.T... there was no better time to be a kid seeing movies. These guys manifested childhood fantasies directly to celluloid just for us!
i cried when i saw star wars, it was a part of my life that ended in 2006, thank you Mr. Williams for making my life better, composing the most important song in all of it
This is absolutely biblical. The mans a genuis. If I was there I'd think I'd be crying I felt nothing but goosebumps while watching this. Bloody amazing
i fecking love john williams he got me through my tweeny years and through my teen years and through present day,he is by far the best composer ever.he sums up everything it means to be young.ih wish i was john williams, love to every body,,,yea.plz reply to me.....
Greatest movie conducter ever!!!! The magnum opus of each of thoose movies will live with me forever and I will it when the good lord brings me up to heavan. Simply wonderfull.
I would love to go watch him compose live, but I would probably be in floods of tears for the whole show, his music evokes such emotion and memories :) long live John Williams
YEAH. THE STAR WARS INTRO WAS EXPLOSIVE. john Williams will live on forever like Mozart, Brahms, and the others I can't spell...utterly fantastic. Wish I was there for this .
no way!, its very special when they do that! the audience responses at certain times were all perfect! It gives the exclamation as to why we love what we love!
AWESOME... I think I would have been cheering and crying at the same time... this is fantastic ans John Williams is UNIQUE, INSPIRING, AMAZING and absolutely FANTASTIC... Happy me indeed ... :0)x
Oh god, please don't get me started on John Williams, cause then I have to go into a half an hour of why he is without a doubt the greatest composer of all time in film
I have had the privelidge of playing in some of the symphony orchestras involved in recordind various movie soundtracks he composed, he is a musical genius.
For a human and all its flaws are able to create something so beautiful. Credit where credits deserved, humans have left a positive mark on earth through music!
"We're gonna need a bigger boat." I am so glad that I was able to see all this stuff in the theaters when they first came out. Didn't have VCRs (not affordable ones anyway) back then, so you just had to see it at the movies. Nothing like hearing this stuff in surroundsound. Last time I saw Williams his hair was still dark.
I hope this world will never underestimate the power and emotional response Steven Spielberg and George lucas' films gave to many generations, these two men will be remembered until the end of mankind.
STAR WARS!!!!!!!! EPICNESS!!!!!! yes im a girl who love s Star wars dont judge me! lol i love all these films and thank God for John Williams, truly he is the man!
I was just 26 years wild when STAR wars chapter I A NEW HOOPE CAME OUT. I RACED TO OLD ORCHARD THEATER TO BE ONE OF. THE FIRST PEOPLE I LINE FOR THE PREMIER. SO COOL. I SAT THROUGH THREE SCREENINGS THAT FATEFUL DAY.
Zepikness I watch all kinds of videos of John Williams live. Aside from the music itself I always think the greatest moment is when he walks over and shakes the hands of his 1st chairs. What an honor it must be to perform for a person of his expertise and top level orchestration and an ability help a director to tell the story through his music.
oh I guess reading from the comments people don't understand orchestra. you hold your applause to the end because it is 1)polite and 2)allows everyone to hear each note without verbal applause over. if you really like the performance give a long standing ovation at the end.
I have read about strange mysteries and had ufos stop overhead back in April 66. I still get that chill of wonder when I saw Close Encounters and ET. When they decide we are ready it will an amazing time.
Gracias John Williams.
the day john leaves us is the day that movies will lose a little magic
Connor Paull may i please ask what has happened??
Ashley Torres umm nothing i think

+Connor Paull A little magic? We're going to lose a legend in the history of cinema.

Indiana Jones is my personal fav. You can't hear that theme without feeling like you've somehow conquered the world.

I was there that night, and it was glorious, as were all the concerts I've seen him conduct in New York, from 1985 onward.
2021 and this is still a cracking mix up, blends so well from one theme to the other
Just listening to all this beloved music puts a smile on my face, tear up just watching the E.T.footage.Brings back all the great memories.

it's like mixing on the decks!! but he is absolutely incredible!! i wish i could compose like him...
Oh god, please don't get me started on John Williams, cause then I have to go into a half an hour of why he is without a doubt the greatest composer of all time in film

"We're gonna need a bigger boat." I am so glad that I was able to see all this stuff in the theaters when they first came out. Wow!! John Williams is the most successful and the most important movie theme creator and composer in cinema history... PERIOD.... That's just a fact.
Who wouldnt clap and go crazy seeing john williams perfomrm the star wars theme in person, let alone everything else he does.
If I were in that orchestra, I'd feel so honored.
Zepikness I watch all kinds of videos of John Williams live. Aside from the music itself I always think the greatest moment is when he walks over and shakes the hands of his 1st chairs. Stars Wars would have been NOTHING without Williams' music.
Just my humble opinion.
WONDERFUL!!
I LOVE WILLIAMS
If you think about it, all these movies were made epic because of the music. So in truth, John Williams should play tribute to HIMSELF!
The audience acts like cheerleaders, I always love it when people clap for me when I play with my orchestra.

The ending for E.T. is just a tear jerker.
I wonder if John Williams really knows how big of an impact he really had on an entire generation of young people?
He doesn't, or at least not the extent of it. He is the most humble of men. I worship him.
I have read about strange mysteries and had ufos stop overhead back in April 66. I still get that chill of wonder when I saw Close Encounters and ET. When they decide we are ready it will an amazing time.
Wow ! New York Philharmonic's Sound is grandur, too
Fantastic !!
John Williams must be protected at all costs
