The best youtube vid on finding a 2003 Sienna evap leak..... (there are no others on YT.) I have the same exact car and color. Great car w/157k........evap leaks are the hardest to find.....smoke tests (and simple 9 or12v VSV tests are key to evap system repair - There are vids on YT about those electrical tests). A smoke machine is a must for Evap problems. My mechanic charges me a fair price to smoke test my Sienna($80). Your ingenuity regarding the smoked fuel fill pipe test is spectacular........ PS: add - "smoke test and Evap Emissions sys" - to your title and you'll add another million views to your video.............Thanks and good luck............
My mechanic just found this to be wrong with my car and he said this is the hardest part on the evap system to diagnose because of where it is located, they had my car for two days, just glad the found it.
No BS at all. Thanks very much. I have ordered the valve and am now carrying a one gallon can of gas in the trunk as I work towards a "Near empty" gas tank.
I have a leak problem too i already replaced the canister but now it shows that I still have so I’m going to replace the valve assy fuel thanks for sharing. I highly appreciate👍
The Amazon link takes you to an assembly with a slightly different number, do they both fit the 2003? Because I found the actual assembly you use in the video on Amazon as well.
Would this also cause gas to spew out as the gas pump auto shuts off when filling the gas tank? I have a 2006 Sienna and it has code P0442 and gas spits out if I fill the tank until the pump shuts off.
I have a 2001 toyota sienna and pulled these codes so I took it to midas and they told me to replace the charcoal canister. I replaced the canister cleared the code but after a few drives it came back. So I purchased a smoke machine from Amazon did the test and noticed smoke coming from the vent canister. But when i plugged the vent up it came from under the fuel tank. I lowered it down tank full of gas and that's when I saw the smoke coming from the valve. I called midas to see if I can get a refund and it seems like they want me to come there and provide a presentation. So I will. I have a canister that I didn't even need
for a 01 having a bad cannister docent seem odd at all .. could have been part of the problem .. but if light came back on you should have taken it back to them and have them rechecked
Does this issue cause a strong gas smell inside the cab? Cause I have a 2005 sienna just bought it from a used dealer no issues during test drive picked up next day wife drives off the lot calls me to tell me she smells fumes !!! no warranty !!! So now we have a family van we can’t put our kids in. Brought it to Bridgestone and they say can’t smell it and can’t find and leaks they say they think it may be injectors idk but they only looked at the car for 25 min cause they where closing 🤯. It’s so hard to find a reliable mechanic that we can trust
@@FalconsGarage I've decided that since it only does it at stations with higher fuel delivery rates, e.g., COSTCO, and the car passes smog with flying colors, I'll wait for it to throw a code. Otherwise, it's an expensive troubleshooting proposition.
The best troubleshooting in RUclips. Got same trouble with my Tacoma and thumbs up to you. 👍 I subscribed.

Glad I was able to help. I’ll take you tip into consideration.

Great, no BS and straight to the point. Much appreciated, thank you.
A trick: you can watch series on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Nicholas Brock Definitely, been using Flixzone} for since december myself =)

Good luck!
Usually just replacing the purge valve on the canister (or leaking hoses on it) is good enough if in fact there was an issue with the canister.
It's surprising how often that overfill check valve is the problem. Many times they are found with cracks in the plastic
Thanks for this. Now I know what to look for on a friends 06 Camry.
Muchas gracias. Perfect video to help me out. Paz y salud
glad I could help
Mucha Gracias. I wonder what it does to the system when part is messed up? Just lose gas mileage?
Thanks it was very helpful
Glad it helped
Yes we'll explain....thank you
You're welcome 😊
2006 sienna lee is the same way ?
The Amazon link takes you to an assembly with a slightly different number, do they both fit the 2003? Because I found the actual assembly you use in the video on Amazon as well.
call the dealer and ask them for part numbers for your specific car and cross match them with the part numbers from amazon

Mine does this even on quarter tank..
Did you ever figure out what was wrong? I need advice.
Does this job always require the lowering of the tank? I thought it could be accessed on a Camry just by removing the back seat.
Yes. Usually cars that have the access port under the seat is access port for the fuel pump. This is located in a different spot in the tank
Are on Atlanta
I have a p0440 that keeps popping on my toyota camry le....any advise what to look for.help
evap codes are tricky .. have somebody do a smoke test .. and also check the vacuum switch
Did you drain all the fuel out of the gas tank?
yes .. I actually talk about that on the video
It was amazing
Can you please share a for Nissan Sentra 2008 gear cable replacement

It could be coming from there. But will probably need a smoke test
I know exactly where the smell is coming from. Once I changed my evap canister that smell of rich gas went away.
I need a video oh how to disconnect the big line.
Repair cost for this?? Thanks!!
like 2-3hrs labor
2002 Highlander that is hard to fill with gas (handle keeps clicking off). The car has no check engine or codes. Air vent tube is clear.
its an evap issue ... need to check all valves there

Not easy to fix it then.....$$$$$$$$$
