Short one for walking around. Long one for distance. They are used like a dagger. 2. the Home Depot escrima stick. 28 inch black, iron water pipe with end caps spray painted black. Indestructible. People will steal your tire thumper, but not this. Sits on the floor area of the back seat. You can make a shorter, narrower version that could be used like a Yawara stick. Have that too, if I leave the car and want something stuck in a pocket.
The best defense in a zombie apocalypse is AVOIDANCE! Everybody makes these silly lists of weapons under the implication that you HAVE TO kill zombies. NOBODY stops to realize that confronting them increases their risk of getting killed and becoming one. Yes, you will need weapons and tools to survive, but running away should ALWAYS be your primary survival strategy. Movement and distance are really your best weapons.
I've used machetes a lot up here in Vermont. I'll tell you machetes are crazy strong and sharp. You can literally hit a tree as hard as possible with a machete and not break it! It's a real life sword that is classified as a tool. I'm getting a 28" or 24" machete if a Melee situation arises. Or a Axe. But a real tree chopping Axe because that's what it's made for. Chopping and not breaking. Axes and machetes are basically real life Norse weapons but are viewing as tools. Nice job on this bud. Appreciate it

Blades would work better after the zombies have become more rotted and the skulls are not fresh hard. For starters I would use a bat to bash skulls in. 2. A crossbow (something like what Daryl from TWD uses) for stealth and taking out a handful of walkers from a distance. 3. A staff or spear. This doubles as a walking aid, as well as a weapon. Imagine being chased by 20 zombies. too many to handle safely in hand to hand combat. you run up to a tree or a car, climb up on it, and safely dispatch the zombies with head stabs from a higher perch. Using this logic you could single handedly take out hundreds at once.
i agree but instead of a crossbow i would choose a recurve bow cause you can shoot it faster and there is alot less to break or fix compared to a crossbow
Pretty good. Id probably go w/ a steel like 1060 or 1075 rather than the A2 tool steel for quicker, easier sharpening of that big blade but overall not bad.
I would never use an 3 inch blade in a zombie outbreak, same goes for any blade that you would need to stab with that doesn't come from hilt to tip into a triangular point. The 3 inchers would be useful for regular humans but like throwing stars all they would do is damage the flesh and probably not get past the skull. Any blade that bowes in the center like the 2 other blades you showed here would be useful for a chopping or deep slicing but same as the smaller blades, trying to penatrate the skull would be difficult to do. I will however give you credit for showing off blades that would be ideal for just about everything else you would need to do while not killing zombies. As for myself my go to weapons would probably be my recurve bow. Silent but can still get into the skull pretty easily with the arrows. Plus it's quiet with easily interchangeable tips depending on if you need to ditch the tip in a pinch and just grab the arrows. The next weapon would be a Gerber machete. It's light. Has a smooth blade and can go through a 3 inch piece of wood with a dull edge. It's also practical for everyday usage. And finally I'd probably go with a K-Bar for an actual knife. It's usually a standard issued blade for hand to hand combat with the USMC so you know it works. It holds an edge with the best of them. It's also a fixed edge blade so you don't have to be concerned with you stabbing into something and it cutting off your fingers if the lock breaks on you because of the force. Plus it has a nice little blood groove so if you need to go hunting with it and an animal runs off it will still let the blood flow well enough it should be easy to track. But everyone has their own style. And hopefully we'll never have to see what works and doesn't in real life.🤠
There is no way I would thrust with a Barong when there are blood-borne pathogens at play. If you're going to thrust with a weapon, go Gladius. At least you have a handguard.
People are looking at it the wrong way, not everyone has these so they're not that useful, me personally I would go for a classic wooden baseball bat, it has reach, won't get stuck in the skull, won't break or go dull, and it would be super satisfying to hear the crack after every hit. Plus there are a lot of good baseball puns to be made, you could even add barbed wire like neegan from the walking dead or nails for fun
The small spear knife heads need the spear shaft to be tapered, otherwise the spear may not penetrate properly. An alternative that can also double up for survival are good double blade throwing knives. They make better spears, and animal traps. Machetes are also a favourable weaon. Long shaft machetes serve many purposes, including acting as an intimidating sword. Compact parang machetes also serve many purposes, and act as a discreet way to carry a sturdy blade. Another one to consider is good ol' recurve bow with a good stock of light weight carbon arrows, half fleched, and half naked shafts ready to build with parts on hand. Easton Powerflight shafts are a good choice, but stick with feather fletching, as vinyl vane fletching can warp out of shape whilst in your pack, or covered quiver. Base Ball Bats are another good choice, but Maple ones, not Ash, or Aluminium. Zombie apocolypse is a good themed excuse to prep, but in reality, when the shit hits the fan, it's real life desperate people that you need to deter from coming near you, and your short supplies. Once they know you're there with supplies, your person, or camp is in jeopardy. There is no way to prevent this, so ability to remain on the move is paramount, and stash supplies in sealed large containers so you may return later to use them. Survival on the go, whilst being stealthy is probably the only way to get by. Being prepared to defend yourself is your greatest asset, but there will always be people that have guns, and ammunition.
That depends on which season of the walking dead you're watching. Season 1 it's like a concrete vault. Season 7 is like a bag of jello wrapped in glad wrap lol

My choice would be my 1.2kg/70cm forest axe, my 0.7kg hand-axe/hatchet, and whatever caveman-armaments I make with the use of these axes, be it spears for fortification/traps, projectiles, or incendiary birch-tar grenades made in the field. I don't believe in a zombie-apocalypse, but this would be my choice in any event that forces to fight in the wild without firearms. ,,, may not be able to blow up a tank, but drenching it in fire is certainly doable for caveman-guerilla warfare.
