    From Nordsmith Knives, built by LT Wright Knives, the Canteen Knife is a Modern take on the classic Nessmuck Knife. I am a big fan of the Nessmuk design and the Canteen Knife comes in at the best take on the Nessmuk that I've used. Being that it is built by LT Wright is just icing on the cake for making this knife a winner in my opinion.

    Great video, Joe. Glad to see you back. I had the chance to meet David about a year and a half ago. I got to chat with him pretty extensively, and see some of his knife collection. I really like his thought processes when it comes to designing knives.

    Well it’s about damn time you showed you face again! Awesome review as always Joe. I’ve handled that knife and I have to agree that it is pretty dang awesome. I’m hoping to shoot my overdue video on the Pilgrim sometime this week. Between Dave’s designs and LTs execution, I think Nordsmith will be here to stay.

      Thanks Mike! The Pilgrim looks fantastic, I look forward to your thoughts on it my friend. And I agree 100% The collab between Dave and LT and crew is definitely a solid match up.

    • @feralwoodcraft
      @feralwoodcraft  6 лет назад

      While I really dig this design and highly recommend it, I will always encourage folks to turn a design they have in their head into a reality. It is such a great learning experience and in the end the knife is special to the owner. I say go for it!

    • @eachday9538
      @eachday9538 6 лет назад

      Well, I was going to cut out some balsa wood templates to check the theories I have about ergos and geometry, but making a knife probably isn't on the agenda in the short term. Thanks for the encouragement though!

    For me, the cooking was interesting. I've never heard of that soup for sickness. I will have to try. As for the higher end knives, not something I will ever see in my stash. Glad to see you back out Joe.

      Thanks Chris. You never know, most review channels give away higher end knives from time to time. There will be one here very soon from Blackfeather.

    I think that I just bought the last Canteen Knife in stock. I'm quite smug with myself right now. It's going to ride on my belt in scout style every day once I get a proper scout/crossdraw rig. I've been looking for a knife to replace the ESEE 6 for daily "stuff".
    Thanks Joe!

    Looks great, seems like it is well designed and made. I knew as soon as you said LT Wright that it would be more expensive than my budget allows, and at $290, it is about twice my maximum amount I would pay for any knife.

    Have you ever tried using a terava jaakaripukko knife from Finland the 110 4.1 inch blade or the 140mm puukko 5.5,both are 80crv2 carbon steel or you can get them in stainless steel too, both scandi grind, tough tip drop point style, super tough knives an can throw sparks from the spine,reasonable cheap too.

    Say. Heah Joe, Yeah'suree, 2017 was a good year for our Messmuk's, I also got a great one, I went with a Adventure Sworn Guide, mine is also a 5 1/2" blade, and made in 3V. I got White G-10 with Black Micarta Liners. Mine is also a vexed Saber Grind. Infact I team it with my 2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet. I also like adding my Wicked Tough Saw and my Leatherman Charge TTi to complete this set, Oh, I also like using my Kodiak Gearsling to carry the rest of my C's, I did post pictures on my Google Plus. Dilly Dilly, Oh, were you gone.,,.p
