I wanted to watch a review before I purchase this knife. I am pleased to say I’m glad that RUclips’s algorithm recommended your channel! Needless to say, I subbed. Cheers from USA!
I love mine. Been using it now for about 2 years. Mine has scandi grind with the stainless and not a problem keeping sharp. I like the mass of it and has become my main camping knife for all your reasons you show. If you ever get the opportunity to use on processing game, you will not be disappointed - it is superior. I agree it is a tough knife. I would have went with the wood scales as the antler will be hard to hold when cold in winter.
Good advice! We only have the saber grind and can imagine a scandi grind will be awesome. It is on our wishlist! We will keep in mind your advice about the wood scales. Thanks!!
@@cameronharris2862 Yeah, the bump in front on the topline of the knife lifts the skin away from the bone/carcass allowing for a great advantage during processing, especially when you don't want to puncture the abdominal cavity. In my opinion, and after using a Nessmuk style knife, there is no other field cutlery knife that is able to do the job as well. It was designed for this very task by George Washington Sears in the late 1700's who earned the name "Nessmuk" from the Natives given to him as a sign of respect and was one of the first Europeans to publish a book concerning survival skills in the American Frontier. Good luck.
Great knife. I love my Jokers and this one especially. Their puukko is also excellent and also comes in 14c28n. It’s a great pair with the Nessmuk. Joker makes a lot of excellent knives. A lot of people don’t realize that some Casstrom knives including the Lars Falt are actually made in Spain by Joker.
I don't have the Joker Nessmuk, but would love to get my hands on one, even for a loner to test and review. I have 2 Joker knives, and they are both outstanding. the quality of construction, and fit and finish are just perfect. I have 2 Nessmuk design knives, and the blade shape, and overall utility of the design deserves a place in everyone's collection of bushcraft and field knives. I love that this comes with a dangler, I wind up putting one on most of my field knives. good video, and good review.
We agree danglers are great! We like the Nessmuk design a lot as well! Hope for you to get your hands on this one. Guess you will like it a lot. At least we do:)! Thanks a lot!
MY top 3: Rob Evans MK1 -Tribute or Bushtool - Leshy from Fyred woodland - Mora Bushcraft Black. For beginners, I strongly believe, the best option is the Mora Robust.
Looks like we have kind of the same taste in knives 😁👍. That Mora is a very good beginner knife indeed. We have seen that Paul Kirtley is using those Moras for his courses. Cheers!
The Joker Nessmuk exist in two versions. High Saber grind and Scandi grind. I think it works best in high saber grin because for me this is a great camp knife. It is a great allround knife.
Just bought it on sale at Lamnia in Finland for 889 Norwegian Kroner. They only had one left, and it was a high saber grind like this one. It is a good buy. Casstrøm knives is having the blades made in Spain. Maybe made by Joker?? Also bought the Cold Steel Drop forged survivalist too. Very good knife, with a flat grind blade in 52100 steel(ball bearing steel) And a SteelBuff Tracker knife, Limited Edition 04, made in Ukraine. Made in N690 Cobalt steel and iron wood grips. What a beauty. Also a high saber grind knife, that is my favorite blade grind.
Glad to hear you like our music! If you want to hear more, we made our own song on that music: ruclips.net/video/syxmu2EigBU/видео.htmlsi=do9eKHJzT6qcy6_5
Hey! Thanks for pointing out! Yes we were aware and glad we choose the flatgrind / sabier grind first. We would love to test the scandi version out one day as well😁👍
Good question! Most large bushcraft knives we have are or convex or in a steel that is not stainless. Only knife in our collection that fits that profile is the Helle Nord. Maybe not the best feathersticker. Worth checking out the Lt wright illuminous 5 even though it has not a stainless steel like you asked for. The scandi grind is awesome and great bushcraft knife. Hope this helps. Cheers!
its painful when you (not referring to this knife in the video) see a review of a knife you bought and its not as good as you thought. It teaches me the value of taking my time when researching future purchases. Take your time and shop right, thank you for your videos.
Very nice, als always. I really like the old knife design. It seems to be a great bushcrafter and hunting knife. It looks grat. for deer processing and skinning. I try not to buy it 😂
Although I’ve been enjoying the content of your channel and Im a subscriber, I can’t remember a knife that you haven’t liked so far. I’m not exactly sure I’d take any of your recommendations going by your reviews. Yes they give me some ideas, but if everything is great no matter the price, it’s all good in your opinion. So what’s your point? I guess you don’t revue the bad ones, or you just revue for a personal price.
Hi That’s a good question. We buy all our knives ourselves, so we do some background checks before we buy them. We love knives and we say if the spine is not sharp enough, or if they don’t baton well. Luckily for us, we have only bought good knives.
Hi guys, nice to see you.. Nice video and nice atmosphere and nice nature! Definitely an interesting knife, I like the fire in the video too! Great, good luck and good health, I send greetings!🙂🌲🍀🔥🔪
Best review on this knife on YT. I bought two of them (one scandi, the other sabre). They are just SO GOOD.
Thanks a lot! Haha cool you have both of them! Guess we will purchase the scandi version one day as well😁👍

Lovely knife. I have the Joker "Erizo". Another good knife.
Joker’s Nessmuk is no joke. For the money, it might be the best Nessmuk you can get.
Agreed😁👍👍

That’s good to know. I wanted a larger knife for bush craft but my main outdoor use is skinning game

I agree, flat ground for food and overall camp tasks and scani for wood!
Love mine. Im in the process of making some micarta scales for it right now (and in the process changing to chicago hardware to afix them).
Sounds pretty awesone! Send us a picture on instagram when you are done. Hope you succeeded well!

Fun video as always. I’ve always liked the nessmuk blade shape. I like that it’s different and has time proven performance. 🔪🎸

You guys should do a comparison between the Joker Nessmuk & the Brisa Nessmuk. Should be fun.
Absolutely, we just need the Brisa Nessmuk 😊.
It’s on our list🔪🔥.
Kukkeli bushcraft did a comparison. You should check him out. Great channel.
You had me at stag horn.
Double for us😉👍
When does the video for second place knife come out? Excited to see it!
Hopefully somewhere next year🤞👍
@@westcoastbushcrafters That’s a long time lol
Hi guys great video, quick question for you both... what is the other knife? Did i miss the video?

You haven’t missed it, we haven’t done the episode yet. It’s Beaverknife bushcrafter, a great knife 🔪🔥.
I’m liking that Spanish like music to go with that Spanish knives.

This is so right what you are writing. We as well like to deep dive into a knife before purchasing. 20% of the pleasure till frustration comes😅😁👍
I think you said it is a flat grind, but I am sure I saw it listed as a convex?
Nah it’s not convex. They make a scandi version and a high Sabre grind model (which is shown here) I prefer this grind for an all purpose camp knife
Thanks for your comment! As you mentioned we tested the Sabre grind yes. Performance was above expectations 😁👍
A joker model that has a convex edge is the Nomad

Try a Canadian Jump Knife or Canadian Boat Knife sometime
Thanks for pointing out those knives. Looks like knives in the same “theme / family “. Very special 👍
George Washington Sears was Nessmuk’s real name. He was a writer for an outdoors magazine.
Thanks for sharing 😁!
Great knife and a well made video. 👍 But always this kiddish batoning... 🥴
Thanks a lot!!

It was a beaverknife but feels like we have to reevaluate out top 3 (or top 5) this year. New knives new experiences😁👍

Our 3 top knives is:
Lt wright Illominous 5
Beaverknife Bushcrafter classic
Joker Nessmuk
These are our favourite knives at the moment. 🔥👍🏻
Curly or antler??? Hrrrrmmmmmmmmmm....
We think antler on this one😁👍
