We can hear you just fine with normal typing and also, if you want them to be able to pick out the title of the song you want them to react to, then you need to use proper capitalization so they can, as in "Whose Crying Now" (with or w/o the quotes). This is the best journey line up. Steve Perry singing, Neal Schon on guitar, Johnathan Cain on keyboards, Ross Valory on bass, and Steve Smith on drums. They were the journey I grew up on🔥👍🏼

My mom saw them back in 1987. She said it was one of the best concerts she’s ever been to. Steve Perry’s voice is incomparable.
I saw them back in 1981 in Chicago; definitely the best concert I've ever been to also! Back then, tickets were so much cheaper--I really miss those days!
i saw him 4 times here in Chicago, his last show was at the Arie Crown Theater October 1994, love him!

This song always brings me to tears. Steve's voice is not auto-tuned like so many use these days trying to achieve perfection that makes them sound so fake. Not allowing the nuances of different singers voices is just a crime. It takes the emotion out of it for me no matter the lyrics.

One of my regrets is never getting to see Journey live back in the day. Such a top quality band and Steve Perry is unmatched.
I was so lucky that I got to see them twice with Perry. And 5 times since.

Oh mannn same. I worked for ticket master and ticket tron and I still didn’t get to see them and I saw EVERYONE! Oh how I miss 5$ concerts back in the 80s too. Was standard for any band to be under 8$ lol.

Here's the thing...normally when listening to a live version of a song, you're not getting the optimal vocal interpretation of the song, as you normally get in the studio version. When you listen to a live song, and it's just as good, if not better, than the studio version...that's when you're 'special'. This is why Steve Perry is seen as one of the truly great vocalists.

Your both kind of right. It isn't the Studio version but when you make a live album you have to "clean up" the noise from a live performance. Sometimes the recording equipment picks up drunk idiots yelling obscenities and back then breaking glass bottles and other stuff young stupid kids do for attention at live events. So live albums are recorded live but fixed or cleaned up after.

Still They Ride!!!! In the Japan footage, Steve Perry has the flu. He still sings better than any other artist on a good day. He is the ultimate performer and puts everything into it. Pure God given talent. Many have tried to mimic him but all have failed

Lights! A classic Journey song. I worked in Oakland CA. From the parking deck of the hospital I could look and see San Francisco in the evening fog. One day as I was leaving work, this song was playing. ❤❤love

I was very fortunate to see Journey on: The Departure tour, Escape tour, Frontiers tour, and Raised On Radio tour! Not one disappointment, the band is phenomenal, and of course Steve Perry is so good live! That's great! I have seen a lot of great bands but missed out on Journey when they were in my area. I wish I had seen the Raised on Radio tour. That album is so underrated.

Dude is literally nicknamed “The Voice”. Singing live sounding JUST like the album. One of my favorite singers of ALL time. Check out “Foolish Heart”
Journey has such amazing chemistry. The instrumentation, vocals, and lyrics of so many of their songs are proof of this. Personally, Only the Young stands out because of a segment from Behind the Music. The mother of a young fan who was losing his battle with a terminal illness wrote them a letter. Her son's last wish was to meet the band so they rushed to his bedside. They brought with them a tape player and headphones with a demo of Only the Young. He was the first person outside the band to hear the song and just melted into the bed while listening to it. He passed away the next day. It will always be his song.
This got to me; not many things do....more reasons to love and respect these guys
I saw Bryan Adams and Journey in concert in Lexington, Kentucky in spring of 1983. A concert ticket meant saving up for several weeks but it wasn't a car payment or more like it is now, so I had also gone to their 1981 tour with Greg Kihn Band opening. Steve Perry's voice live is so strong and fills an arena easily yet he still pulls the audience in with emotion.
Guys, an absolute must is "Girl can't help it" from Raised on Radio album...pure quality and one of the best endings of a song.

I believe this is a live/studio remix for the official MTV video. Their live in Houston concert from this era is the real deal though and I've seen other reactors do songs from that concert. I believe this track leans on the studio version more than one would think, especially considering how clean the instruments sound during the outro. That said, you guys have only done 7 Journey songs so far. You need more!

@@Cosmo-Kramer No. It’s not. The tempo is slightly faster than the album version, and even though Perry sounds incredible and is as true to the studio version as he can be, it’s not the original.
@@bryanw4637 It's the original studio album version. It may have been altered a bit, but it's certainly not live. I've seen Journey live, and while Steve's voice is very close to how it sounds on the album, there are always going to be slight variations in a full song, from the studio cut to a live performance. And there are none here. This is *not* live.

This is why Journey will ALWAYS be one of the greatest bands of the 80s and 90s. Every one of the band members is very talented in their perspective parts. This is also why Steve Perry is / was in the Top 5 of the Best Voices of the last 50 to 80 years.
If you want a more rock feel song, I highly recommend "Suzanne". It is sort of a love song with a rock beat and feel. It is my second favorite song from them. It is also a song most people forget how great it is.

Journey was my first concert. 13 years old with my older brother! Journey sold out 3 shows in Phoenix in like 2 hours. Remember we had to got to the box offices and buy tickets! It was the 81 tour! “Mother, Father, Sister, Brother” from 81 Houston performance is Perry best vocal performance EVER!
I think the best way to display his vocal abilities is Still They Ride. My favorite by far of the Journey songs. Some of his solo work is amazing as well.

If you want to hear Steve Perry now, listen to his album "Traces" and react to " Easy to Love", "We're Still Here" and "No Erasin'". Most of this album was written for Kellie Nash, Steve's girlfriend who died of cancer in 2012, and he had promised her he would get back into singing, whether she survived or not. No matter who you are, when you hear Journey you become a small town girl living in a lonely world!! Steve Perry sounded exactly like this live! And yes those were lighters the crowd was holding up. I burned my fingers many times at concerts in the 70s and 80s.
I love to see the shots of the audience just locked in a gaze at Steve. He just had everyone in that audience in the palm of his hand.

@@terrigaines1812 … I was wrong. It’s VHS I have them on. I think I have a couple CDs too. Haven’t listened to or watched them in a while, except on RUclips. My VHS player quit working and I haven’t gotten another. Not even sure if I can get one now. Thought I had a DVD of them too though, but I can’t find it. Note: Just found my DVD. IT’s Journey, GREATEST HITS 1978-1997.

Vocals that will blow you away from him is Jessie Rides live. He did this while he had the flu and is better than anything anyone can produce in the studio. The song is beautiful too.

Wonderful song...Steve Perry has one of the greatest voices in the history of modern pop music. Another person whose gifts as a singer always impress me is Christina Aguilera. She really puts her contemporaries like Britney and Mandy to shame. I hope that you two will take time to check out her song "You Lost Me", it's a killer track. Please take a look at the clip of her live performance on David Letterman, when she was a guest promoting her new album in 2010. You'll be blown away, I'm certain!

There's a channel that analyzes singers voices. When he did Steve Perry and tried to use auto tune on his voice, nothing happened because he was on pitch with almost every note he sang.
