❤ No one else could sing Journey songs but Steve Perry.
They've actually had multiple singers take his place after he left, and they sound almost indistinguishable from him. In addition to that, there are some great Journey songs from before Steve joined the band.

There is only one Steve Perry. I won't listen to any other Journey singer versions. He is Journey. The writing, the voice and the soul. You can't replace all of that.

I just wish you guys knew the extent of recognition that Steve Perry has received for his gifted voice. I don't think you have really, truly heard him belt one out yet. So I recommend that you check out 'Mother Father' performed in Houston at the Escape Tour (1981), and try to have the lyrics handy. It will blow your mind. The studio version is good but does not produce the same effect.

I saw them in 1983 in Charlotte NC. I was 19. It’s been 40 years and I still have my concert tshirt.

I was at this concert here ! It was at the JFK Stadium 🏟️ in Philadelphia. We all new Journey was filming their video for ( Send her my love ) I was to the right of the stage me and my girl . Never forget !

I just saw Journey in concert on March 21st. ToTo was their opening act. It was an incredible concert!! This is their 50th year as a band! I saw them 8 years ago as well, but this time the dynamics and the energy was just different. It was truly a special performance. I so wish that Steve Perry would perform with them once again . I know that would never happen, but it sure would be incredible. Their lead singer that they have now (Arnel Pineda) has been with them for 15 years and has done a great job.
You guys kept commenting about Steve's incredible voice. There is a reason why he is nicknamed "The Voice". He is one of rocks best vocalists ever
I was just at the Moline concert myself and I saw Journey around 8 years ago myself in Peoria but your right the energy was amazing in this concert. It will be sad when they stop performing.

Wow - what an awesome concert! Toto is my favorite band, so I would have loved to have been there. We usually see Toto every year, but we haven't gotten to see them for the last couple of years. And Toto was Sold Out for VIP early & we usually like to go back and see them & catch up on things. So maybe, God willing, next year we will see our guys! 😎

Steve❤❤❤❤. As a teen girl in the 80s my main focus was on music, waiting for Casey Kasem's weekly Top 40. The only boys I had interest in was the ones singing those songs. Those were the best times, best decade.
Steve Perry's voice is like velvet - smooth and warm. No auto tune. I agree, Shawn, you could just play this over & over again.. "Stone in Love" is another good one by Journey. And if you want another love song, "When You Love a Woman" with Steve singing his heart out as usual. x

This was at JFK stadium in Philly in 1983 I think if I'm not mistaken. Attendance was 91.451 or something close. That speaks volumes on how this special band made us all feel. This era of music will never return again. Makes me sad but I lived thru it and it was awesome. I have the memories. 😢 Plus RUclips. Lol
