You've done a few incredible Journey songs, but you've go so many good ones to go. You have yet to do "Lights", "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", "Any Way You Want It", "Who's Crying Now", "Don't Stop Believin'", "After the Fall", "Send Her My Love", and "Be Good to Yourself". All bangers!
You can't talk about Journey without including the amazing Neal Schon on guitar. Such a signature tone and playing style. To me it's just as iconic as Steve's voice.
Steve has never been married. His long time girlfriend passed away of cancer. He didn’t perform for years after he was so heartbroken. He only started singing again because he promised her he would.
Her name was Kelly, and they were only together a couple of years prior to her passing. His long time love was Sherri, and they were together quite a while in his younger years.
You need to do research. He stopped singing because he was burned out. He started singing again because he made a promise to his wife that he met later in life.
What a beautiful man.....an incredible voice, look at that beautful hair when he leans back at that moment in the song.......Amber always has that react that most wouldn't even think of, she is so positive...................Awesome .....
@@rwfrench66GenX not funny at all. Being in pain is not fun at all. It took me over 4 years to get a doctor to listen to me there was something wrong with my hip. It needed replacing by the time they did. Steve needed a replacement when he did this song. Pain affects your life more than you think
Y'all keep missing out on their best song: "Mother, Father" from Live in Houston 1981. Steve's vocals are the best they've ever been. You will NOT be disappointed.
Can it get better than Steve Perry? Nope. The man can't sing a bad note. His voice is perfection. And when they take you from the strings and transition to the guitar. This never gets old.
I’m 78 and a big fan of 50s and 60s music, but I love Journey! I have a Journey’s Greatest Hits CD that I sometimes play while I’m driving. It’s hard to get all the words when I have to watch the road. One day I was in slow traffic with long stoplights and really listened to this song. When the light changed, the tears were falling and I could barely see the road! Good thing I keep tissues handy.
I'm 75 and love the 50's, 60s, and 80s music. I met the love of my life in '81, so the entire decade became special for me --especialy music from Journey, Foreigner, Tom Petty, etc. It just doesn't get any better. It just doesn't.
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT, I loved them all, my friend. The Go-Gos, Genesis, Heart, Police, Men at Work, Van Halen, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi... Never was an AC/DC fan. They were a little too screechy for me. I'm a lover, not an edgy, head-banger type guy! :)
OMG!!! I’ve been WAITING for y’all to listen to this!! Hands down my favorite!!! His voice is just iconic to this day! You’d never know he was in such physical pain during this recording. I think it was his back… He was never married, but did find love later in life until she passed from cancer.
He injured his hip while on a mountain path hike one day and Steve said he wasn’t sure if he had the ability to make it back down on his own and get help. Record company wanted a video to go along with this song so Steve pulled it together to do the video. He had a hard time standing and walking so he’d sit and put an ice bag on his hip in between breaks. This whole project was basically over before it started right.
You might not expected it but the power ballad was perfected by Journey IMO because of Steve's voice and delivery! Send Her My Love, Open Arms, The Eyes of a Woman, Once You Love Somebody and Why Can't This Night Go On Forever are some other power ballads from them. You guys have barely scratched the surface of their music.
His voice is raspier and a bit deeper here because this song was like 10 years removed from their last album Raised on Radio in 86. They kinda disappeared for a bit. You should take a listen to Message of Love from same album "Trial by Fire"... It's upbeat and IMO the best song on the album....
OMG, This is such an amazing, sweet song and Steve's vocals literally makes u melt from the heart...Steve is renowned for his countertenor vocal range and the same live as recorded, just phenomenal...Dubbed "The Voice" In the Top “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”.Thanx so much just beautiful, Blessings
This is the song that my wife and I danced to whenever it came on and EVERY time it came on. She passed away in November of 2022, and I will always remember the unconditional love we had for each other. She wasn't "one in a million", she was Once in a LIFETIME, and whenever I looked into her eyes, I saw my whole world.
Why Can't This Night Go on Forever and especially Mother Father (live in Houston) are 2 that REALLY show off Steve's vocal ability. Mother Father - best live performance ever, IMO.
Yes, it's the airy expression of his Voice, like he's talking with music. Steve "The Voice" Perry Niel Schon - Guitar riff Jonathan Cain - Keyboards Randy Jackson - Bass Guitar
I’ve had the honour of being married to who I consider is the most beautiful woman for over 30 years, and that song still gets me. To see your world inside her eyes.
Mother, Father Live in Houston is another good one. Although the song is not as memorable as other Journey songs, the particular performance shows Steve Perry's incredible vocal ability. I repeat, the live version is the way to go if you're reacting to it.
If you see Steve Perry's Dan Rather Interview from a few years ago, you find out exactly how tragic this song is...he didn't have the easiest life. Gorgeous song, amazing voice, one of the all time Greats!
Journey without Steve isn’t Journey. We all know it. He apologized, got them back together and they soared again. Neil and Jonathan couldn’t handle it, wouldn’t wait for him, and threw it all away. And now all the lawsuits… such a mess. Steve’s voice is still so magical. Forever ethereal. ❤
Master class right here! Steve Perry will get ANYONE to buy into what he’s conveying and this song is absolute proof of that! There is NO other like Steve Perry!!!
I'm a 80s baby. I remember going to a yard sale with my grandma at 16 yrs old and looking through the cds. I came acrossed Journey's greatest hits cd and the art on the front and the name made me want it. I went home and listened to it and was hooked and was in love lol. At 23 yrs old when i was pregnant with my first I wanted to name her Jurnee (spelled different) Rose Diane. At 6 months pregnant me and my grandma picked Harlie. So Jurnee. I love Journey only the Steve Perry Journey.
Journey one of my all time fave bands, my fave journey songs are called Mother Father & Who's Crying Now, great songs. Love this one too, beautifully song By Steve as always.🎵🎸😎👌 No matter how many times I hear Journey, their songs never get old, always Awesome.😎🎸🎵👌
Okay.. didn't know why I hadn't heard this Journey song.. this is much older Journey... I was raising 5 children at this point.. 3 teenagers, a preteen and an infant.. I wasn't listening to new music at this point in my life.. too much other stuff going on.. lol.. But Steve's voice is still beautiful
His voice feels in your ears like velvet feels under your fingers when you rub it backwards. Oooh. When you know the song by heart and try to sing it along with him, you realize that he is extraordinary even on the slower/quieter ones. A legend ❤️
At the risk at repeating myself on a different journey song… you won’t find a better vocalist imo. The things he did with his voice in his prime was beautiful!! I saw them many times in Philly!! Always a great show!! !!
Journey had the biggest comeback in 1996 w/ this record ('Trial by fire') and this single becoming a huge hit... But a year later, the band was halted by unfortunate circumstances. Imagine Journey in 1986 w/ a platinum record ('Raised on radio') and successful on tour. Then, in 1987, Steve Perry (vocals) quietly tells the band he's taking a break. Journey disappeared from the scene w/ no announcement. Steve Perry later released a solo album, and 2 members briefly had a new band Bad English w/ 2 studio albums. Then, Steve Perry contacted the band to work on a new Journey album in 1996. That record became a platinum success, 10 years after their last album. Journey started booking a tour in 1997... And then, Steve Perry was diagnosed w/ a degenerative bone condition. He needed hip replacement surgery and prolonged recovery time... Journey's comeback ended. The band waited over a year w/ no progress. Finally, Journey made the decision in 1998 to part ways w/ Steve Perry... They decided to hire a new singer (and a new drummer) and did their first tour in decades in 1999, but had to build their way back up without the voice that had defined their biggest records... Quite a remarkable achievement.
Gotta check out Steve Perry`s solo hit "Foolish Heart"...so nice!! (Definitely watch the official video of the song...simple video of him going up to the mic & just singing...beautiful song).
Thank you for this song today. It is just wanted I needed. I'm loving a woman again and it's been a very long time. How did you know I was hurting before. You've my day that much better.
Great song! Steve still has the pipes! You really need to check out Mother Father live in Houston! You will see how versatile Steve's voice really is! You also might check out Any Way You Want It! Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite bands!

Steve Perry’s GREATEST love songs. PERIOD. Neil Schon’s quick solo on guitar is great as well.
He does have a daughter he found out about I believe after she was grown.
My girlfriend passed away from cancer in 96" I to just stared singing again after 27 years. I miss her so much.. this was her favorite song.
Her name was Kelly, and they were only together a couple of years prior to her passing. His long time love was Sherri, and they were together quite a while in his younger years.
He wasn't with that gal for long before she passed.
Steve was in pain singing this song.He faced hip surgery and he still sang this with perfection
Yes, the hips often affect the vocal cords, my dates have that same issue
@@rwfrench66GenX not funny at all. Being in pain is not fun at all. It took me over 4 years to get a doctor to listen to me there was something wrong with my hip. It needed replacing by the time they did. Steve needed a replacement when he did this song. Pain affects your life more than you think
he still spins around in the video.
Thanks for reminding me of these great songs. I was never a big fan of 80’s power ballads, but Journey songs never fail to move me.
Love hurts...
This song is so good his voice just soared I think this one of my favs
Y'all keep missing out on their best song: "Mother, Father" from Live in Houston 1981. Steve's vocals are the best they've ever been. You will NOT be disappointed.
A MUST REACTION!!!!
I second that!
One of the best live albums of all time
Agreed. Amazing song and amazing performance.
That last note he hit .... woooooooooo, that man can saaaaaaaaaaaaang!!! I hope they do review it because that note will take them out!!
Just love when youngins finally hear our music.
Can it get better than Steve Perry? Nope. The man can't sing a bad note. His voice is perfection. And when they take you from the strings and transition to the guitar. This never gets old.
Listening to Steve Perry must be what Heaven sounds like ❣️❣️❣️
Oooo man what a beautiful voice smooth soothing soulful 😢😊
Love this song, Steve Perry is one of the greatest singers ever.
One of the greatest voices of all times...Steve Perry you did it again beautifully ‼

We are AGREED!! Best wishes, GOAT! :)
This song has got to be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard sung by one of the greatest voices of all time.
One of my all time favorite Journey songs. Released in 1996 and was nominated for a Grammy. This would be the last ‘hit’ on the radio for Journey.
I just love this song he sings with so much emotion I think it’s my favorite
Yes yes yes, a million times yes!! One of my favorite Journey songs!! It's just so beautiful. You guys are going to love this one!!
🥰❤
He definitely puts a good smile on every ladies face
For sure
I love Steve Perry his voice is breathtaking
Yes @ Mother, Father.....!
this one always makes me cry.... no matter my mood, his voice is just so absolutely beautiful
Never fails to make my heart soar!! That man's voice is unbeatable!!
I feel this song so much with my wife. Sometimes when I look at her with the sun beaming down on her electric smile it makes me cry.
My guy…you don’t have a wife. You have your world.
Was my song to my ex wife. 22yrs married.
That’s why he’s called the voice ❤

The beautiful voice of Steve Perry. Could listen to his voice for hours. Thank you for this great reaction. 😊🇨🇦
The greatest rock ballad singer of all time
There's having a nice voice and then there's being a consumately skilled singer. Steve Perry is a consumately skilled singer.
You might not expected it but the power ballad was perfected by Journey IMO because of Steve's voice and delivery! Mother Father - Live in Houston is amazing.

Journey - Send Her My Love
Steve Perry is just amazing.
This is one of those perfect songs that never gets old - I've watched this music video Sooo many times. 💛🎵💛🎵
This song is absolutely amazing! So beautiful ☺️
This is Journey's last hit with Steve Perry before he left the band...forever.

Niel Schon - Guitar riff
Jonathan Cain - Keyboards
Randy Jackson - Bass Guitar
Steve Smith on Drums And Ross Vallory on Bass in the video
Two artists you both love did a wonderful duet that is an absolute BANGER! "Don't Fight It" - Steve Perry and Kenny Loggins
This...☝️
I was thinking of that. Reviews of that song and "Strung Out".
Did you notice just how long Steve's hair is in this video? All the way down to his waist! Love it!!!
I love u guys, you need to do Send Her My Love, and some of their live performance.
So much emotion. His pronunciation of each word is amazing
I’ve had the honour of being married to who I consider is the most beautiful woman for over 30 years, and that song still gets me. To see your world inside her eyes.
The second I saw that you were doing this song I knew. That man is really somethin’ else. A treasure.
Beautiful song, new that you would love it. Next up..."Mother, Father" live in Houston, Steve's vocals on it are unbelievable.
Best power ballet...Journey "Mother Father" live 1981 in Houston. Best vocal performance by Steve Perry and a nice Piano solo at the end.
Mother, Father Live in Houston is another good one. Although the song is not as memorable as other Journey songs, the particular performance shows Steve Perry's incredible vocal ability.
I repeat, the live version is the way to go if you're reacting to it.
Only the young is another good one by journey. Mother's finest is awesome too

Journey is currently a cover band. An empty shell without Steve
@@GandlafTheWhite Exactly
May be true but "Turn Down the World Tonight" with Arnel is pretty awesome.
@@johan123212 he doesnt have originality. He wants to sound like Steve Perry… try again
My opinion is with Neil, formerly with Santana, is trying anything to sound like Santana. Yet to me, Journey has surpassed them in their own right.
Listening to Journey makes you miss this kind of music today. Rock bands just aren’t popular anymore. Such a shame.
Add “Mother, Father” live in Houston 1991. The vocals will floor you!
Raspy...one of the greatest voices of all time .Power ballads Faithfully, Open Arms. Greatest songwriter_ Journey greatest band!
Another 80's band with a distinctive sound and a lot of good songs. Loved 'open arms' a great song done perfectly by a great singer.
Instant chills. Perry's voice is pure magic
Master class right here! Steve Perry will get ANYONE to buy into what he’s conveying and this song is absolute proof of that! There is NO other like Steve Perry!!!
With all their hits, this was their only GRAMMY
One of my favourite Journey songs. Love your reactions, thanks guys.
You can’t go wrong with any Journey song. 👏
Steve Perry voice flood's you with emotions.. Journey phenomenal.❤️👍

Wow!! Finally my favorite band of all time... Journey never put out bad music... ❤️❤️ Mike from Dallas
This song and Trial by Fire album was supposed to be the big comeback for Perry to Journey. But they never toured due to strange events.
He had hip surgery shortly thereafter. Took too long to reconnect with Schon and Cain, so they decided to move on.
Mother, Father and still they ride. Not the most popular songs but two of my favorites. Steve Perry has the best voice hands down!
The live version of Mother, Father from Houston 1981 and Still They Ride from Tokyo 1983, are awesome!
At the risk at repeating myself on a different journey song… you won’t find a better vocalist imo. The things he did with his voice in his prime was beautiful!! I saw them many times in Philly!! Always a great show!! !!
What a beautiful song this is. I’ve always loved it! Thanks for the memories!! ❤
This one quickly rose to one of my favorites featuring Steve Perry, what a phenomenal voice.
This isn't a ballad. It's a love anthem.
Oh I adore this one. Steve Perry is amazing as usual.
Nice choice. It’s time to react to Don’t Stop Believing or Mother, Father live in Houston. Prime Journey/Steve Perry.
I Stand Alone is another fantastic ballad of Steve’s that I love. ❤
Yes!
Steve Perry the Voice, beautiful ❤️❤️❤️🙏👍👍👍
Another great one: "PEOPLE AND PLACES"!!!
Some have called that Steve's best performance.. Incredible
Steve Perry’s voice is perfection. ❤

"I Stand Alone" by Steve Perry is absolutely one of my favorite songs.
Oh my heart..Steve Perry! Love me some Journey! They were up for a Grammy for this one. Beautiful!
His voice is so powerful and controlled and beautiful.
I've been waiting for this one. Steve Perry never disappoints.
El solo de Neal Schon es espectacular. Un guitarrista muy infravalorado 😢😢😢

Steve has a warm voice.. even when he is belting it out…
Great song! Steve still has the pipes! You really need to check out Mother Father live in Houston! You will see how versatile Steve's voice really is! You also might check out Any Way You Want It! Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite bands!
