When a couple of Tylenol packets had been poisoned by a lone mad person, the company's response was to recall all Tylenol products at high cost to the company. Why? Because their Credo says that their first responsibility is to the patients, families and doctors and nurses who prescribe their products. The second and third responsibilities in the Credo are to the communities they serve and their business partners. The fourth, and last, responsibility is to provide a fair return to their shareholders. When I hear news regarding FB, I always flash back to the day I closed my account back in 2010 after reading an update of the terms & conditions stating that all my data were their property and that they would do whatever they wanted with them.
“Quick, send in the guy with the British affluent condescending accent to tell everyone that we’re really not destroying civic integrity!”
This is the guy who reneged on campaign pledges that won him voters to get into bed with the Tories. Integrity is not what he is known for here
@@EllenWst I don't know the particulars but "getting into bed with tories" tells me it is an ex-liberal turncoat who joined f.b.
Anything nasty about to happen to him and his employers is long overdue and NOT severe enough.
I thought maybe he was related to BP’s ex-CEO of North America operations who would rather be yachting than taking care of the world’s largest petroleum leak in the Gulf of Mexico that his company caused by not paying to replace a faulty $500k cut-off ram. Their original press release blamed it on the workers for dropping a wrench, but I work in industrial maintenance- in areas with potential for explosive atmospheres you must use brass tools supplied by the facility. Nick Clegg, once the deputy prime minister of England, brexiteer, and now hated there so much he moved to the US to work for FB.
Definitely not a Brexiteer
@@kiwifruitpoo Yeah, I’d have to see some evidence that a LibDem was a Brexiteer.
He’s many things, but a Brexiteer is definitely not one of them. It was actually the total collapse of the Lib Dems in the 2015 general election that locked the Tories into taking the country into its current death spiral - Dave Cameron promised a referendum in 2015 believing there would be another coalition after the election meaning he’d never have to keep that promise

doesn't everyone know instagram is toxic...? Who need leaked documents for that!?
Everyone already knew that, the question was what was Facebook doing to prevent adverse mental health effects? And the answer : jack fucking shit.
It's one thing for everyone to "know it" implicitly, it's another thing entirely to have official company documents that explicitly confirm it.

Facebook is controlled by the intelligence agencies. Snowden has said it many times. Just like in the 60's , they pushed the word conspiracy theorists . The media did the rest.
@@tdmprofit3708 that's your opinion
@@tdmprofit3708 I'm pretty sure Snowden never made such a claim. Also intelligence agencies didn't come up with the term conspiracy theorists since the term was used as early as the 1870's.
J&J's Credo states that if they fulfil their responsibilities to the first three groups, the fair return to shareholders will naturally follow. This is the model for corporate responsibility. What Facebook is doing is an abomination, the worst of corporate greed which dishonours the virtues of capitalism.
Zuckerberg has the air of a sociopath & a wide streak of “mind blindness.” Same guy that assumed everyone wanted more openness and transparency some time back and removed privacy controls without consulting users. He learned little from the backlash. I have never, ever posted to FB.
As if capitalism is virtuous. It hasn’t been for a long long time now.
When "honorable" capitalism _literally_ requires putting the 'capital' part in *fourth place,* maybe it's not the capitalism part that's honorable?
@@ashkebora7262 I think you have missed my point. Even the Austrian School promotes "enlightened self-interest". My point is, by way of the J&J example, that decency and a free market economy are not mutually exclusive. Leadership is key.
