i get it now thanks heaps.. would be awsum if someone made the wire swap on a switch.. eg full manual mode or auto mode.. got a few tech mates so ill look into it. easy option should be 2 switchers but a single switch might get complicated. end result would be the power switch in the console, power mode =manual and eco mode = full auto.. any one reading this have a crack it would be an awsum breakthrough for the commodore transmission ..!
Yes this MOD totally works I go another step with the brown wires to the TCC and add a microswitch under the left foot rest and now I also have a clutch control FULL MANUAL for my L67 😆😎😈
So you wouldn't recommend it for my daily driver. Its a vt calais v6. I drive through the gears as though its manualised but I hate the lag when I shift up and down. I have brought the diode. But am hesitant yet to do it as I haven't heard many people doing this to their daily. Cheers mate

@@mikeA292 working on a switch to go from normal to mod setup.. should have it done in a week or 2. you will need 4 , 5pin relays , a on off switch to supply 12 volts to relays. would recommend the car off before using switch as a precaution. pin 86 and 85 for earth and 12 volt on off switch

I'm looking at doing this too my L67 VX it's got 320whp and has a built box. So my idea is do this but have a ratchet shifter setup so it becomes basically a 4spd sequential (obviously it's not a legit sequential)
will this also stop the trans kicking down a gear? i would like my car to be in what ever gear i put it in.. so as in 2nd if i floor it it wont kick down to 1st, and like wise for 3rd kicking into 2nd and od kicking into 3rd
Hey Justin, no it does not shift normal in 3 or Drive after the mod. Having it in D is 4th gear. So if starting from a stand still in D, it will try to take off in 4th gear which it wont like, and wont move very fast and will give the stall converter a hard time.

Since I'm upgrading diff to 3.9s in mafless tuned vyss the pcm has already been manualised in 1st n second so can drift hard in 2nd in dry as stock can do 140ks in 2nd but now doing cam n going 3.9s 2nd gear will be to short so will want 3rd n 4th manualised can I speak to my tuner so he can do that with the dyno tune when doing cam n stally on dyno?or is there way I can do this? 2004 vy ss
Correct, by putting it to 1 it actually stays in 1. Factory it will still shift to 2nd as a gearbox protection inbuilt into ECU programming allows it to even though selecter is in 1 position.
Yes, I am in sydney, Check my rfboom facebook page for the LS info. It can also be done in the PCM tune for the gearbox parameters so not necessarily need to be done with this wiring mod.
it wouldnt be the same because its a different gearbox and different PCM. It would take a fair bit of testing to figure out what triggers gear holding via wiring, would be easier in the tune.
Yes it works for a 99 VT. I did it to my 99 VT exec v6 2 weeks ago and worked perfectly. It makes the gearbox become fully manualised. So take off from stand still the selector must be in 1 to be in first gear, and progressively go up the gears as you need to, and move the selector to each gear according to speed. Putting it in D is 4th gear.
Hey mate, I followed your videos and diagrams but for some reason on my VT V6 Paddock Bomb it hasn't worked? It now shows the Transmission Light on the Dash Cluster and it's kinda like Limp Mode now. Seems like it's just in Drive and not using/selecting any of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I still get N, R and P. Any ideas mate?
Highly likely to cook box in forth for long periods. You can add a switch which you could lock converter at any point. Generally they only lock in 3rd and forth. Could get you some more info if need be but a Google search will tell you what you need to kno

Anyone done this switch idea yet. Could be worth ripping up the wreaking yard for looms and shit needed. Be good starting point
Simple solution is to put in a 4 pole switch that cuts the connection to the CPU and instead does the connection in the video

I did it on a 04 vy v6 works fine different pin numbers i think but hooked it up through a set of relays so i can turn it from auto to manual.

My l67 has 388hp and I'm running a Hurst shifter. Manualised valve body , 3200 stall. You should do it.

Yes, the wire joining to the diode is affecting the electronic decisions inside the gearbox, not the PCM.
