Came across an article stating that early Dexron ATF was hygroscopic (attracts water). This problem was fixed with the later Dexron 3. So if you have an older Holden that's never had a transmission service it's probably a good idea to change the fluid.
My VT has done 326000km and I have no record of when the trans fluid & filter was replaced; most likely never. Thanks for posting this very helpful well explained video; I'll be doing this to my VT commodore asap.
hi, we just remove the linkage nut on the left side of trans. just support the linkage when you loosen it so you don`t bend anything or alter the adjustment. cheers
check out our other related transmission vids ruclips.net/p/PLQLkuOdKuFotRCEQEAG1F90N3_WFl71IE

Hi, all Transmission Fluids seem to mix nicely with water or coolant. Regular Transmission Service is the best long term investment. Cheers
@@YepThatsIt I agree ...I must say though, you have made me check my transmission fluid more often! ...lol.
We Tig welded in a 02 sensor bung and tube for a permanent drain plug.

Do you have video on removal off trans ,great videos
Hi, no sorry not at this stage. I`d say would be hard to film as usually confined spaces. what part are you interested in or having trouble with ?
Would you run that cooler unit after the radiator or just bypass the radiator altogether?
hi, we bypass altogether. eliminates chance of coolant getting into trans. cheers
Is that the same trans as the Supercharged VX 2000 Calais?
hi, if it`s a 4L60E then yes. cheers
Do u ever use Permatex 3B Non Hardening Aviation Gasket Liquid Sealant around the gaskets
hi, not on gaskets only where no gaskets are present like fwd trans. cheers
Didn't even know there was a 3b. How does it differ to 2B
Ive heard that there is no difference between the v6 and v8 4l60e except for the bellhousing, can you confirm?
hi, pretty much same ... extra clutch plates, input shaft, torque converter etc cheers
So v8 4l60e will fit on a v6?
Where can I top up the oil from?
hi, these trans have a filler tube near firewall. cheers
hi mate r u in melb by any chance. lookin 4 a good at shop.
hi, no sorry not in melb. should be plenty good specialist workshops in melb. cheers
How do i remove the gear shifter so i can remove the gearbox with the engine?
hi, we just remove the linkage nut on the left side of trans. just support the linkage when you loosen it so you don`t bend anything or alter the adjustment. cheers
we don't remove the shifter, just unbolt nut and trans comes out...cheers
