    I'm starting to see why good knives cost what they do.
    Absolutely fascinating, seeing the process end to end, thank you.

    I’ve been loving the videos lately! If you haven’t already is there any possibility you could do a video on designing the geometry of a button lock. I’ve been trying to figure it out but have no way of prototyping and I am a bit confused where to start. Thank you!

    John, what type of filament are you using for tool tags? They have to flex around the tool holder, so I am guessing it’s not pla?

    awesome content. We can learn a thing or two from your shop setup. Very impressed with the toolholder marking system for the Speedio. We are also running a Speedio and looking for a system to keep track of tools in and out of the machine. Would you by any chance be willing to share the design so we could print these for ourselves?

    Have you ever looked into using liquid helium to quench your blades. -450 compared to -320 Just curious

    • @littlejackalo5326
      @littlejackalo5326 3 месяца назад

      Liquid helium is 10-15x as much as LN2. Just not worth it.

    I have a question??? : In a number of of your videos you mention how you want folks to actually use your knives, and not just “collect them and look at them now and again”.
    I understand you thinking this because they are your knives AND you end up using them, of course. BUT do you think that is the same investment as a customer who doesn’t make your product.
    Let me put it this way: if right now, you go out and buy a Sirogorov knife for $1040-$1125, would you use it the same way you use the Norseman that is in your pocket???
    Would you toss that Shiro. in you pocket with your pens or pull it out and use it the same carefree way as the Norsman or Rask you have in you pocket now?????
    I am just trying to explain and lay out reality.
    With a product that expensive, I think it is an appropriate question.
    Thanks for great product and content.

      If you can't afford to use the knife, you can't truly afford to purchase it in the first place.

    • @tacticalcenter8658

      Their knives are not worth the prices they go for. And some people actually use $1k knives. Not many, but some do.

    So still using a budget steel and toughness ht for an expensive knife? You know that's not value.

    • @tacticalcenter8658
      @tacticalcenter8658 5 месяцев назад +2

      When quenching with plates, set the plates vertical, so one side doesn't touch first. You want both sides to touch at same time.
