Like many other knife nuts out there, I wish Grimsmo would start using Magnacut and HT to 63-65 hrc. I don't have any issues with your RWL-34, just looking for that next step up in performance.

This is exciting. I'm now running a large fermat cnc 4 axis boring mill and this channel is one of the knowledge sources that helped me understand and figure out this machine. Its amazing the little nuggets of info that people like you share that one day I'm trying to solve a problem and I'm like hmm.. i saw so and so do this lets try that and it works. In a way channels like your's have actually allowed our whole shop to grow because I've pushed us into the cnc era and continue to show everyone what's possible in our specific niche and shop. In a handful of years we have gone from an all manual shop fudging and making with what we have to now we have a hurco vmx50 mill, a hurco tm18li lathe, and the fermat boring mill with a much much larger machine purchase on the horizon.

John was such a huge inspiration and motivation when it came to starting my own business. I remember telling everyone who knew a little bit about manufacturing on youtube : "I want to become something between John Grimsmo and Mtmwood" and people were like what, you want to start producing tomatoes ? (John makes knives, and mtmwood makes CNC cutting boards...). 6 years later the company is growing and I still abide by the principles that I got from John's vlogs : work hard, never give up, never lower your standards, invest in tools, always aim for better. It definitely pays off in the end. Thanks John for being that someone I needed to look up to.

here is a little tip that i found out my self after some experience
under the rubber gloves ( that i say the finishing guys use in the video ) have a pair of white fabric gloves on beneath them where the top/edge of the fabric cloves is above the robber ones. it allowed your hand sweat to transfer up to the air as well as premote some air down into the clove as well as minimising the risk of develping rubber/latex allergy. also my personal ( and the machine workshop i work in ) recomendation in gloves would clearly be wurth's " Black Nitrile Gloves "
