WOW!!!!! Now that is what you call a haul of parts. Now that you have given the Ryft to someone who will enjoy it. The Typhon mega looks great with all the new parts and upgrades. The Typhon will be a fun basher and I can work on setting the other to be a little more of a track buggy than basher although it will always be a fun basher too! Hi there Mike! It was a huge surprise to see everything in that box when it showed up! The Typhon is all sorted I think I will get out with it soon. I look forward to the Losi as I remember it from all the cool on-road cars featured in the magazines growing up but I never saw any in person. living out here in the country it was all off-road and I didn't know anyone running on-road then. No worries at all, the was just enough water sitting in the diff housing (drops not a puddle) to rust them up. Thanks John, I think I did really well. I got rid of one I was not keen with and he freed up some room to get some new stuff in and both are happy with the trade. I still think I made out better on the deal, lot of tinkering ahead!
It is very cool how the YT channel has changed my life and the connections I have made. I have been a solo RC guy for the vast majority of my life. A few friend in high school had some and then for a few years my best friend and I would bash around together but mostly it was always just me. Now I have this huge network of friend from all over the world I can ask questions from, help out, talk about things, trade with, send gifts to and all that... it is really neat and I never in a million years would have thought I would have that. I am very blessed and happy I decided to do the whole YT thing. I will never be financially rich from doing it but I sure am friend rich from doing it! Take care and have a great week!
Thanks Keith! I got a pile of neat stuff in trade for sure! 100% more than I expected LOL! The Typhon is ready for a rip and I will get out there with it soon I hope and I look forward to digging into the Losi, never saw one in person so it should be fun!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. It was a great trade and both of us got new project to tinker around with and moved stuff one we were not using. If you find a good sale on the 3s BLX Typhon, grab one, you won't be upset you did! Look for deals coming up for the Christmas sales, Arrma usually discounts almost their entire lineup for the holidays!
Wow nice hoard what a great guy to send you all this gear in trade 😊 very kind of him.. you’ve made a lovely job of the typhon buggy rebuild Addam look forward to seeing this run looks a blast 😊😊 Pete
Thanks Pete, I think I made out pretty well! I move on one that I was not keen on and got a pile of stuff to tinker on! I have plenty to keep me busy for a while here! The Typhon should get out for a rip soon I hope. I need some reckless RC chaos! LOL!
I think I made out pretty well! I sent of the truck I had hard feelings for and got a pile of project stuff to do! He is happy with the Ryft and I am happy with the Typhon and the the bonus Losi and all the other stuff!
Yeah the Typhon is a 1/8 scale so it is a good bit bigger than our normal Tamiya ones! It is also a super fun little chaos buggy too, it does well on the track on 2s but will redecorate the tard on 3s!!! It is really fun on Al's bigger track. I need to get back over there for some fun soon!
Yup, I am now subscribed to No Music RC, thanks for the recommendation, Addam! You got rid of the Ryft, and got a cool Typhon in return, not a bad deal, he he... Plus a few other items, ha ha...
Thanks Mads! I appreciate it and it was a great deal. I had decided to send it to him for free but he would not allow it and sent over a ton of stuff to tinker on! The Typhon will be a fun one to beat on and I can work to getting the other tuned up for the track running. There was a ton of extras in there as well. I look forward to working on the Losi as I have never even seen one in person let alone worked on one!
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it! I made out well on the trade and I have so much to tinker with!! I look forward to getting the Losi XXX-S up and running again.
I think I made out really well and very grateful for all the cool stuff to tinker on! He is just getting into making some videos but I appreciate it and I am sure does as well!
Yeah, I think I did really well and was not expecting most of it to show up! The cash falling out of the Typhon was hilarious! I rubbed it like a magic lamp just in case when it happened but no more fell out, I had to check! LOL! I think I got the Typhon back in good shape and will get out with it soon I hope. I am looking forward to working on the Losi as well as that is one I have never laid hands on before! Take care and have a great week!
It worked out well, both are happy and I surely have a ton of stuff to tinker on! I think the Typhon is good to go and the Losi will need a rebuild, a body and paint so that one will take a bit longer. Not to mention the other 27 thing I need to get to! LOL!
Great deal for everyone. I just picked up a 3s Typhon off Marketplace for $100 including shipping. It didn't have a body but the chassis looked surprisingly clean and the tires were practically new. I just couldn't pass it up.
That is a great deal on the Typhon, they are super fun buggies. If you ever buy from eBay search for the seller my-work-your-saving and that is the seller I got my parts from. He has new 3s bodies for less than $30 and tons of other parts. I got 5 or 6 things and they combine the shipping on it all.
A great guy. I'm not crazy about the Rift either. Hope the Tiphon runs good. I have ran my TRX Rally against one on an oval. Vary competitive and it ran great.
It was a great trade. I got the Ryft more as an impulse buy, I should have tried talking her into the LMT though! I made out good in the end and have two good project kits and a ton of bonus items! I will get out wit the Typhon soon I hope and I look forward to tinkering with the Losi as I have never seen on in person before so that is always fun to see how they work!
I think I did really well and it was fun getting the Typhon back to good running order. I am looking forward to getting the Losi all fixed up as well, need a few parts still but that should be a fun one. The Typhon is a great buggy and super tough. It runs really well on the 2s packs and it is controllable and fun. On 3s, that really kicks it up a notch and it is a fun one to rip up the grass and sling the dirt and rocks around with!!!
Awesome, I am glad you are enjoying my shenanigans! I think I made out pretty well and I look forward to working on the Losi, I have never had or even seen one in person before so it should be fun to tear down and get cleaned up and working again.
G'evening Adam 🤓 . Thanks for the heads up on the crimp trick for the aluminum shocks & caps. I've been in this hobby for about 35 years and that's one trick I Plum forgot about 🤣 ..
Hi! Just start off small with it, these big coarse thread ones needed a lot but the smaller fine thread need very little to make them grippy. I am glad you enjoyed the video! Don't worry about forgetting things, if you have been in the hobby for 35 then you are close to my age and forgetting things is becoming a super power of mine! Getting old aint for the weak!
I made out really well and all that as totally unexpected! I am sure some of the ESCs will be rehomed at some point, I want to test them all before I do anything with them.
Hey nice swap Addam. I love all the Arrma 3s cars as you know and easy to get spares for and work on. The Typhon is an absolute missile over jumps. Have fun 😁
I love them and I have been toying with getting the 4s Kraton but have not made the purchase yet but the 3s line is a bunch of fun. I like them on 2s here as they are tame enough to run around the track and in the yard without slamming into trees. But on 3s they come alive and are nutty little things. Kind of a Jekyll an Hyde sort of thing! Take care Pete and have a great rest of your week!
Looks like you done well there Addam! Absolutely no point in hanging onto a car that your not feeling, they only take up space. As for those seized bearings..... I've got exactly the same problem with my kyosho Fazer Mk2. I stupidly put it away wet one night, which resulted in seized rusted bearings in both the hubs, and the prop shaft..... We live and learn! Maybe Tamiya were onto something with their crappy plastic bushings all along?! 😂 😅 🤣 👍 👍 👍
Yeah I did really well on the trade for sure! I enjoyed tearing the Typhon down and getting it ready to rip. it was a quick rebuild and one of the few kits i have where I can drive to the hobby shop and get all the parts I need!! For wet weather running it is important to dry them off or use the bushings in them! The rubber sealed bearing I guy seem to be so much better than stock bearing as well, no issues from them yet but I do try and avoid the wet and the muck as much as possible! Take care James!
I made out pretty well on the trade! Lots and lots of stuff to tinker with! I love the Typhon and I have a feeling this holiday season they are going to have some really great sales on them this year. I think things have slowed down some and they are sitting on a lot of stock so I think there are going to be some great sales. Just a hunch but keep an eye open when the black Friday stuff starts happening!
Thanks Dom, it worked out well! Much better than I originally planned LOL! We both got stuff out of the hobby rooms that were taking up space and not being used.
Thread tape could possibly work, not sure if the oil would break it down or not . Thread lock may be a permanent solution, I might not be able to get them apart again. I have a couple other ideas, I think a slightly thicker o-ring would help, the ones on there are very thin profile and I don't think compress much at all. The o-ring compressing would add the little bit of tension on the threads to help hold them in place and create a better seal. When I found the stock ones on sale for $19 for a full set I just grabbed them for an immediate fix and I will tinker around with these later.
Ok so as an old skool hobby guy who still runs mardave stuff. Dont "crimp" the top of your shocks to stop them coming loose. A lap of ptfe tape, a smear of paint, a wee blob of blutack or even a dab of the wifes nail polish will do if you cant get your hands on any thread locking compound.
I did not have any ptfe tape handy and the treads are soo loose on there it needed something drastic. I thought of thread lock but I was not sure how "forever" that may end up being! I will pick up some ptfe tape next time I am at the hardware store. Thanks for the tips.
More projects...just what Addam needs! 😂 I promised myself no more buying project cars until i get rid of some i don't run, and get a bunch restored that i want to keep/run. Decent trade though, i would have made that deal too.
LOL! Right? I wish I could do the same, I just got in a new Kyosho kit last week and there is another cool new kit showing up this Friday. I am so far behind but it is probably the coolest "problem" I have ever had! LOL! There are probably a few others here that could get moved on but it is not a priority yet, I am not out of room quite yet! LOL! We both got fun stuff to tinker on and moved out things sitting around our hobby rooms taking up space. It was a win-win!
I think I did have to mount it oddly to reach at first. When I replaced stuff after the salt water incident at the beach I mounted a small carbon fiber tray to the side of the upper deck for it to mount to. I will try and get a pic and send it to you later in email to explain.
Never happened shocks get loose....nice recovery but in my opinion this car doesn't look in your style, for sure fun but.... Any how great trade!! Ciao my friend (Pencil friend as the Peanuts...)
Yeah the bodies just want to twist and loosen up when you cycle the suspension. It does not happen quickly but over the course of a full run I can see one more of them loosening up to the point they would leak. These bigger, more powerful ones are not my normal but they are great fun from time to time. I treat the Tamiya and Kyosho kits fairly gently and these big tough ones I take out and beat on without worrying about breaking anything! Take care my friend and have a great weekend!
Oh man, FB market place here is ridiculous. I typically only go on there when I am bored waiting in a DR's office or something to scroll through and see the silly prices on things and then when I list something for a very reasonable price I get offered pennies on the dollar! I have done decent on eBay when selling parts but full kits it is not as easy and a lot riskier! At this point trades or just giving them away is easier!
I have a Senton 3s brushless truck and i have gone through 2 sets of front stock Arrma shocks on it. And i haven't even jumped it or really bashed it hard. But the shock shafts kept bending. So i put the Pro-Line front rear one on and have no issue. But the one major issue i did have was my ESC started to go out on me. And that is the stock one that you have in yours as well. I guess it's a common thing. I put a Quicrun 10BL120 in there to replace it. So that leads me to a question to you or anyone who watches this. Do you know of a mount that can be used with that Quicrun? Because 2 sided tape will not hold it to the top of the steering servo cover. Any help on this would be great. And the Typhons are a blast! You should get a Typhon Grom and really have fun.
I guess I have been lucky and have not broken any of mine yet and none have showed signs of leaking. Now my Senton has not run too much as it sits out in the garage and is not one I go out ad grab too often. My granite I beaten the snot out of and have broken drive shafts and stuff but no shock issues (knocks on wood)! I have heard the stock ESCs do have some issues, I cannot remember if it was certain versions or just in general. Do you have the small 10BL120 or the larger G2 version? (it is dumb they have two with the same part number!) For the small one I cannot think of anything other than servo tape to use. For the other one since it has a more rigid fan housing you could drill two small hole in the receiver box on each side of the ESC and run a zip tie around it through the holes in the lid to help hold it in place along with the servo tape. I mean you could try it with the small on but it may interfere with the fan as there is not shroud covering it. I do have a Typhon Grom and it is a fun one. I need to get it back out for a rip!
@@AddamsPlayground Ya i have the G2 version. There are two holes predrilled into the bottom of it and i am told Hobbywing is the only place to get the mount from. But i look on their site and they dont have anything. And so far my local Hobbytown hasn't really done any help to help me find one. And i dont wanna drill into the servo housing since that is waterproof. There has got to be a mount for the G2 out there that relocates it between the motor and the servo housing as im told thats what most people do. And my Sentons ESC went out in less than 2 years and i only had 4 5 runs with it.
I will ear-nark them for you Thad! I have one more thing to try and if I am not 100% satisfied I will send them over! So more than likely you will be getting them LOL!
I have done that in the past but since I had them on hand I would rather replace them to not have to worry about them blowing out while running. If they were hard to find ones then I would clean them up but the piece of mind is worth the 10-15 bucks in bearings!
Yes, I have to learn more about some of them if they would handle a car or not. I have to go through and test them all but lots of other stuff to do first.
Looks like a good deal! Now your the ESC king! LOL!!
I did pretty well for sure. I have enough ESCs to build a flying car now! LOL!

Thanks John, I think I did really well. I got rid of one I was not keen with and he freed up some room to get some new stuff in and both are happy with the trade. I still think I made out better on the deal, lot of tinkering ahead!
So glad to see you guys helping out one other I always hear Keith comment on his channel and others always supporting one another
It is very cool how the YT channel has changed my life and the connections I have made.
Awesome haul. Great pile of stuff. I just subbed to no music.
@@rcicons4915 Thank you
Thanks Keith! I got a pile of neat stuff in trade for sure! 100% more than I expected LOL! The Typhon is ready for a rip and I will get out there with it soon I hope and I look forward to digging into the Losi, never saw one in person so it should be fun!
Great presentation, Addam. Nice work on the rebuild. I have been considering an Arrma Typhon as my next purchase.
LOL!
Looks like you got a ton of stuff Addam, Wow! 🙌😎👍🏻
Awesome trade and so much more.
I think I made out pretty well! I sent of the truck I had hard feelings for and got a pile of project stuff to do! He is happy with the Ryft and I am happy with the Typhon and the the bonus Losi and all the other stuff!
Nice trading Addam! Those buggies are HUGE bud 💪🏻
Very nice lad you traded with... and great video man.
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it! I made out well on the trade and I have so much to tinker with!! I look forward to getting the Losi XXX-S up and running again.
@AddamsPlayground can't wait to see it.. never heard of it before this video
Really awesome good luck Addam.
Thanks! I made it really well on the trade and I look forward to working on the XXX-S and getting it up and running again.
Good deal! I’ll definitely check out his channel!
I think I made out really well and very grateful for all the cool stuff to tinker on! He is just getting into making some videos but I appreciate it and I am sure does as well!
Wow. What a trade! Very generous of him. Can’t believe he actually put some cash in the Typhon too.😂 Great job bringing it back to running shape.👍😊
Nice trade Addam! I’d say you made out quite well and a win for both sides!👍😊
You got a rc electric inventory lot
Yes! There was a ton of stuff in that little home depot bag!! LOL! If there was ever a time to build a fan boat it is now, I have the parts! LOL!!
@@AddamsPlayground I would love to see that with the outrunner I have a fan boat It's extremely loud
@@nomusicrc it is a good possibility! I have always wanted to make one!
WoW that's a good trade some nice stuff 😎😎,
It was, I am super happy with it and I think he is very happy with the Ryft so it worked out great. Lots of tinkering to do!
Wow, great haul. Awesome trade. Everyone is happy as it should be. I've been looking at a typhoon. I do not have any buggys. Keep up the great work.
Good trade, I hat leaky shocks! So many esc's wonder how many more he owns!
@@BSslotcars about 10 more lol brushed and brushless
Liked and subbed I’m glad I found your channel. Neat trade 🤘✌️
Awesome, I am glad you are enjoying my shenanigans! I think I made out pretty well and I look forward to working on the Losi, I have never had or even seen one in person before so it should be fun to tear down and get cleaned up and working again.
A nice trade, could probably make a kind of 4 point frame or cradle & hang up a smaller rc car or truck in that rotating thing.
That is a pretty neat Idea! I am sure I could rig up something, I just need to fin a place to put it that I won't smack my head into it! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground they're all new I got them from my local hobby shop because they couldn't sell them
Sick haul man. I would kill for that many ESCs.
Looks like you got a lot of nice stuff. I hope to get a Typhon one day, they look cool.
Cool!
Thanks, I made out well and lots of tinkering to do which is my favorite!
Awesome!
I think I did pretty good and got loads of stuff to tinker on! I think the Typhon is ready for a rip and I will get out there with it soon I hope!
lovely deal mate . 👍
Thanks Dom, it worked out well! Much better than I originally planned LOL! We both got stuff out of the hobby rooms that were taking up space and not being used.
Wouldn't the thread take you put on threaded water line fittings work on the shocks? Maybe locktite if nothing else?
Thread tape could possibly work, not sure if the oil would break it down or not . Thread lock may be a permanent solution, I might not be able to get them apart again. I have a couple other ideas, I think a slightly thicker o-ring would help, the ones on there are very thin profile and I don't think compress much at all. The o-ring compressing would add the little bit of tension on the threads to help hold them in place and create a better seal. When I found the stock ones on sale for $19 for a full set I just grabbed them for an immediate fix and I will tinker around with these later.
Subbed to his channel 😊
Thanks! I am hoping it encourages him to start making a lot more videos!
Sorry mate regarding blitzer beetle did you have trouble motor wires reaching esc atl? Many thanks mate Shaun
@@AddamsPlayground I will take care....
It's Christmas every day!!
I won't lie, you are correct! LOL!!
Nice little trade, i guess everyone gets the low ballers, everytime i sell a car, loads of stupid offers. I dont even reply now 😂
Oh man, FB market place here is ridiculous.
@@AddamsPlayground ebay is my tool for parts, or. Something ive no idea on price. 99p starting bid and let it roll 😁
Hey addam if you wanna get rid of those”leaky” shocks let me know. I’m your huckleberry.
I will ear-nark them for you Thad! I have one more thing to try and if I am not 100% satisfied I will send them over! So more than likely you will be getting them LOL!
So now you hear the music 😂.
Soak them in 3 and 1 oil for awhile and shake up the bottle that they sit in Once in a while.
I have done that in the past but since I had them on hand I would rather replace them to not have to worry about them blowing out while running. If they were hard to find ones then I would clean them up but the piece of mind is worth the 10-15 bucks in bearings!
Track run both please.
I will when I get time.
wow lots of escs.
Yes, I have to learn more about some of them if they would handle a car or not. I have to go through and test them all but lots of other stuff to do first.
