If you want to do a live performance, I would definitely go back to their beginning with their first hit, Sober, performed live at the '93 Reading Festival. Absolutely legendary! Their other notable live performance is the drum cam video for one of their recent hits, Pneuma, but personally I would suggest listening to the studio version of that one first because the production quality is just perfection. But I think either one of these will give you what you want, a glimpse into the greatness of this unique band.
I'm 75 yrs old and a Tool fanatic for life. Started listening to the when my son dropped them on me when he was 15, and now he just turned 40. I reiterate, they never get old. I've been to three live concerts and they killed every time.
My dad was a huge fan too. I also dropped it on him around 14-15 AND I turned 40 this month . He even let me camp out overnight outside a Blockbuster to get the best tickets with his hard-earned money. I just had to promise to never bring THAT album cover in the house. 😊 Your comment feels like a reminder that he's still watching over me. A hug from beyond. Thank you.
"Pneuma" drum cam live version. Their drummer Danny Carey is arguably the best living drummer in the world and that video puts his talents front and center. Amazing video.
Danny has been an underrated drummer for years. The drums are one of the things that give tool their distinctive sound. I would say better than John Bonham.
Pneuma live drum cam is a must Eulogy Parabol/Parabola Ticks n leeches but honestly, just listen to all of it. ride the spiral. welcome to the Tool Army.
“PNEUMA” audio then the “PNEUMA” drum can LIVE in Boston is absolutely incredible brother!! TOOL literally takes you on a journey and makes you think outside the box, no other band like them🔥👽👽👽👽🔥
Maynard James Keenan is the vocalist in 3 bands. As a fan, I think you should first see the live version of Sober with Tool at the Reading festival in '93 (I think 93 is the right year). The distortion in the instruments/ Maynard's vocals/Maynard's posture make me feel the pain and desperation he's trying to convey. Then Maynard with A Perfect Circle singing Judith (official MV). In this one Maynard is just enraged. It's about his mother having a major stroke that immobilized her (when she maybe in her 30s), and how she was such a devoted Christian but after the stroke some of the other church members said possibly her faith wasn't pure enough, and they basically stopped coming around however his mother continued to remain very strong in her faith. Maynard obviously felt differently. She deserved better and he was angry. Then go to Maynard with Tool: Wings for Marie part 1 and 2 (10,000 days) and listen as he finally accepts his mother's devotion and he resolves his emotions about her paralysis, her faith, her death. It's emotional and beautiful. For those two I would recommend doing lyric videos, as the lyrics are so important. Those 3 are a perfect trilogy. And after that you gotta go back to Tool's 46 and 2 and Lateralus. Welcome to the rabbit hole, and prepare for the Tool Army to flood your page!!!!
Tool is a band that is brilliant lyrically and comprised of musician's musicians. 🤩 Enjoy this journey... no other band like them. I recommend having lyrics handy when you listen to them.
If you want to do a live performance DEFINITELY do the drum cam version of the song "Pneuma". It should pop up when you search for "Tool pneuma live". I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
You should listen to the entire discography from beginning to end they do not have a bad song. Opiate (EP) - March 10, 1992 Undertow - April 6, 1993 Ænima - September 17, 1996 Salival - (live recording album) December 12, 2000 Lateralus - May 15, 2001 10,000 Days - May 2, 2006 Fear Inoculum - August 30, 2019
There are 2 part songs all over but my faves are Useful Idiot / Forty Six & 2 Parabol / Parabola The Pot / Lipan / Lost Keys / Rosetta Stoned Wings for Marie / 10000 Days part 2 Not in any particular order
Hell yeah, watching people find Tool for the first time never gets old. My vote for what you check out next would be. Pretty much anything from Aenema, I'd strongly recommend you listen to the original version of "Pushit" off Aenema before you check out the live version. The original conveys part 1 of the story, the Salival live version can almost be considered a different song, which kind of acts like a part 2. Kind of like the difference between how you feel and talk about a break up while you're going through it, and how you'd feel and talk about it years later in retrospect and having grown as a person. Great reaction though! I hope you keep doing more.
They write some of the most unique tracks, with changing time signatures so it's always interesting. And Maynard can blow when he gets into it! They are amazing live!
Here comes the TOOL Army! 😎 Reactors usually go one of two ways on this band. They either listen to all of the BIG bangers, or they do the discography from beginning to end one song per week. Curious what you'll choose...
OMFG AB!!!! Finally!!!!! I am a massive Tool fan, from like 10 years old. They are what we call “art rock” and they are on a whole other PLANE! But man his lyrics are just amazing. The drummer is the metronome by the way, his drum set up is WOW! I’m so glad you have crossed to our side!! Lol! 🎉
More country music and oldies please! They are your most enjoyable reactions to watch. Songs like country oldie “El Paso” by Marty Robbins, newer country “God’s Country” by Blake Shelton, 80’s oldie “Come On Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners, 50’s oldie “Splish Splash” by Bobby Darin, 60’s oldie “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by The Beach Boys, etc.
One of the best bands of all time, and my favorite 🖤 Please check out Laturalus!! And you can just do the lyric videos. Tool lyrics are next level, and the most of official videos are Adam Jones, the guitarist, showing off his creepy claymation skills 😂 Which are inarguably great lol
Okay had to come back to comment again! Yes, Mr. Maynard James Keenan has pipes, definitely check out one of his side bands A Perfect Circle he has some that are more mainstream rock but 3 Libras and Brena and Weak and Powerless are good intro ones from them lol. Now with Tool, the albums are best listened to front to back straight through. That being said, this album he wrote when his mother passed away, she was in a wheel chair for about 10,000 days give or take. But the song Right in Two is a mellow one but good story and message. And any live performance is good, I’ve seen them twice and the shows were totally different (1 had a couple doing aerial acrobatics upside down the whole time!) but amazing!!
So, the lead singer (Maynard) has several groups. The guitarist has his own group and Maynard is his singer. So darn good. Here is a sample. m.ruclips.net/video/xTgKRCXybSM/видео.html
Great video. You should do "Sober" live at reading festival from the 90's. But if you like his vocals I would try "The Grudge" where t Maynard(vocals) belts out a 22 second scream. 🤔
And, totally relevant, I would like to recommend the live version of "Push-It." I remember it's track 3 on their box set Salival, there is also a version at track 10 or 11. I believe the set was from 2000-2001-ish. Note: Maynard, lead singer, also lead vocal with A Perfect Circle.
Love performance of "Sober" is phenomenal. Much earlier in their career. It's hard to find any love performances that aren't phones in the crowd recording though. Live "Pneuma" is also fantastic but it only shows the drummer Danny Carey because he goes insane on that song. Most certainly more than worth the watch, especially if you like drums
Tool - Sober live (pro shot remastered is the best) One of the best early live recorded performances from them. I’ve seen them live like 8 or 9 times, and it’s an entire experience every time. This performance like I said is early, from like 1993, so you don’t see the experience it becomes, but you see the incredible talent for sure 🖤
If you'd like to check out anything live, I'd recommend "The Grudge" live 2002 and/or "Invincible" live 2022 to see the band from 20 years ago to today. If you want to solely watch the genius of their drummer, "Danny Carey Pneuma". All highlight different aspects of their live experience. The first highlights the insane energy of their singer, the next focuses on the live visuals and the third, well, Danny Carey, one of the mind blowing drummers ever.
There aren’t a ton of live tool songs, the band doesn’t really like having there shows recorded so there isn’t much out there, however, if there are still a few videos and some of them are really good. Probably the best live performance you can find is Sober at the he reading festival 1993. It’s an old video but a really good one.
Dude I watch all kinds of reaction channels but you’re the only one I subscribe to. I love the stuff you cover, and your reactions are, as you say, fire.
We have so much to show you. TOOLhas been around for a long time. I suggest you start at the beginning. I will be watching. It's a ton of fun to see people hear TOOL for the first time! Have fun! 😎
I subscribed. Best band on the planet. Still tours live and makes new music. If you want live watch Danny Carey Drum Cam Pneuma. You will gain an appreciation like no other band.
I’d probably try to find the most viewed (Invincible live) . It was the last song during their most recent tour, which they allowed their fans to record. I believe in 2017 Tool played on Halloween , there’s a few good recordings of No Quarter. These are some odd ball options. Plenty of people are already steering you to the most viewed live d as hots of Tool
You chose a good song to begin your tool journey. If you like deep time signatures and poly rythyms I suggest "pnuema". Album first, then live drum cam.
If you want to go down the Tool rabbit hole just start at the beginning. Throw Undertow on and enjoy, Bottom and Crawl Away are two of the most underrated songs of all time.
Tools music, albums and shows are all amazing. I seen them live. I recommend parabol and parabola or lateralus. Welcome to Tool 😊. For live watch Sober.
I would recommend, if you haven't run across it yet, one if my all time favorite RUclips videos. It was made by Derik Brooks and is titled, "Tool Fans Being Born". It's a compilation of about 20-30 of your fellow reactors from over a wide section of time. Little clips of each listening to the song you just reviewed. So many people with so many varying views all getting fired up at this one song is hilarious and amazing since each channel did their's separately. You obviously wouldn't review something like that for your channel. But you might watch it at least once for the humor. You'll see what I mean. Best line of all as soon as the song ends, without missing a beat, one man stands and throws down his headphones, leans in to his microphone and firmly states, "I'm a Tool fan, now!" before marching off camera.
If you want to do one live, do their live version of Sober from like the 1990's. just do a search for tool sober live. You'll get it :) You'll see Maynards voice live and see it's amazing there too. Loved the video, thanks for sharing!
Oh god….welcome to the Tool Fan Club. 46 and 2 is great, Hooker with a Penis, Aenema, and well, honestly almost everything Tool does is worth a reaction. Watch and react to Danny Carey on the drums, that dude is built different. His polyrhythmic time signatures are insane.
AB. Sir. Lately it is very hard to hear you! I don't know if you changed mic set up, or what has changed, but I miss catching your reactions and comments!
@@ABtheKreator I am SO impressed . I do not believe I've received such expedient a response on RUclips before. Thank you, kind Sir. I look forward to hearing your voice in future videos. 🤗

This!👌👍
Agree
I still jam Sober every single day.
O'Keefe Foundation- Kids Cover Sober.. it's amazing as well as their 46&2 Cover and others.
Yup!
It NEVER gets old!!! Love this song forever! Reflection...wings for Marie...46 and 2..lateralus....it goes on forever! Live sober.
Dude! Yes!!! And Flood lol for sure! Hush is a must!
I'm 75 yrs old and a Tool fanatic for life. Started listening to the when my son dropped them on me when he was 15, and now he just turned 40. I reiterate, they never get old. I've been to three live concerts and they killed every time.

"Pneuma" drum cam live version. Their drummer Danny Carey is arguably the best living drummer in the world and that video puts his talents front and center. Amazing video.
FACTS.
This is definitely the 1st live video you should watch.
Danny has been an underrated drummer for years. The drums are one of the things that give tool their distinctive sound. I would say better than John Bonham.
Pneuma live drum cam is a must

There isn’t a single song I can think of in the Tool library where they aren’t making you stop and really investigate the lyrics.
Just enjoy the magical, musical and lyrical journey of your lifetime! Wizards of sonics and lyrics.
Tool is one of those bands that doesn't do "bad" songs. it just ranges from good to great and upwards.

There's a different universe out there somewhere with only two solar systems in it. Pink Floyd and Tool.
Yes Maynard has PIPES. This is my final true bucket list band to see live.
Love Tool. Great band. This never gets old. That base line...🥰💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃❤️
I'm so old that my age can't be carbon traced and I approve of this band. TOOL. Tops. Best of the best.

Yes
Great reaction.
"Sober" Tool live. Awesome!
OGT from the 1st EP 😏 Just saw Puscifer on the 18th. There's a reason I named my son after MJK 🖤

The lead singer Maynard James Keenan had 3 rock bands, Tool, aPerfectCircle, and puscifer
if he wants live he NEEDS to see Danny Carry's drum cam!
Keep down this rabbit hole!
Eulogy, Vicarious, The Grudge are some of their great songs.

Tools music, albums and shows are all amazing. I seen them live. I recommend parabol and parabola or lateralus. Welcome to Tool 😊. For live watch Sober.
sober (live) pro shot it really shows you maynard's (singer) emotion. He kills that shit.
Best live video is My Third Eye, where Maynard, the singer, is wearing a bra and has mime face makeup.

Another song by then? All of them. Do the pro shot live “sober”
Great video out there of Sober live. Check out 46&2 as well.
Live version of Push it.. I believe it's track 13 on Salival.
Welcome to the club.
The Grudge will take you on a serious ride!!

Sober live proshot 93. No better starting point and the only live performance of them other than fan-made videos.
Great reaction! I love love to see a reaction to jinjer. Maybe “judgement and punishment”?

Do the Danny Carey live drum cam performance of Pneuma
I've always felt that tool reactions require a lyrical "assessment", not like analysis, but the lyrics are as genius as the music itself.
