I know this video is 3 years old but just came to say thanks for the build guides. I started playing divinity a couple weeks ago and I’m in love with it. I’m running lohse tidalist and a custom human juggernaut. Very powerful convo with the lone wolf talent and if you have height advantage for lohse she will kill around 2-3 enemies on her first turn or kill everyone on her own in just two turns. She is a very weak to physical attacks so I suggest that if you run this build put some points into air so you can get the teleport and nether swap ability to keep enemies off of you.
@@castiellefextralife4865 Dude I made an Eternal Warrior/Ranger-Summoner/Tidalist/Terramancer party for my first ever playthrough and I am SERIOUSLY glad I did. Unbelievably fun, and I'm not getting completely rolled over.

Medusa is also good for this build because it gives you an additional option for CC in the case that there is no rain around. I also pair Necromancer skills with Hydrosophist in order to get some physical damage through the use of Int.
I did a full 4 person team of undead necro/geo with 2 point aero and hydro for teleport and to put out fires, maybe armor of frost for some fights. I called them Grave Knights.
If I want to take lohsa as a tidalist in my party, should I start with enchanter? also what about ben as the archer/summoner and the elf as the stormchaser? (as per a 50:50 damage split team, I am running the eternal warrior as my character) I'm not sure which starting classes to take for each of them though.
Holy shit I love this game. I have lohse as an enchanter and am loving it. I appreciate how my source points can turn the tide in a battle a grasp victory from the jowls of defeat. For instance last night I was fighting the four champions in the graveyard on reapers coast. I had cast water on the ground and shocked it butnone of them cursed it and 3 of my 4 party members were near death and decaying. I forgot I had the gem to give me mass heal or whatever that heals and removes decay. I expected to get some breathing room but because they were all undead it nuked 2 of them and ensured my victory. So fun
I'm a late bloomer of this game lol. I know where have I been. I truly LOVE this game. I have played maybe 40 hours by now but have not past act 1. Yes I know. I keep changing my classes to find the one I like. I got one question. All of your builds are for new starting characters. You really never explain how to do this with your companions. I know to follow what you are saying, it is just a little difficult to make the right choice for your companion on the specific class you want to build. You know what I mean? Either way amazing work and love the videos. Keep it up.
When you hire companions you can choose what base type they will be trough conversation before they join your party. When you finish Act 1 you get the mirror on the bottom floor of the big boat "A Lady Vengeance". With this mirror, you can fully respec your character for free as much as you want for the rest of the game. You can have 4 warriors in act 1 and then respec to Lone Wolf mage's if you so chose. I'm guessing you figured this out already, but I'm leaving this here in case someone else is interested
You could also create 4 instances of the game on pc creating custom characters on each, then quitting out and leaving the host open to control the characters after you quit the other three instances. Make sure to keep track of the host instance or the game will quit and your characters will be lost.
I use this build but I mix in Polymorph and Necromancer. Apotheosis for free SP and Skin Graft for Cooldown reset. It gives me the capability to devastate in the next turn. For Necromancer, I have skills that enable me to do Physical Damage and set the floor with blood when I want to freeze it. As for weapons, I just have poison wands or staff with high crit for healing since I'm undead. Also, considering survivability, Fortify, Armor of Frost, and Heart of Steel are very helpful and sometimes necessary instead of healing all the time. Cloak & Dagger and Teleport are on me at all times for utility.
is it necessary to have tidalist if you are focusing at phys damage in your party? I mean like a support role ofc. Or i can add some defensive spells for each character? Is it enough?
I wanted to make nearly the same build for my 2nd run. But I wouldn't put points in double wands to put them in Aerotheurge and get blood rain. Less damage/more memory, but huge crowd control with the second wave of rain and shock/stun. But maybe I will do this with an other character like your stormchaser build. Will see... :)
@@Zierk11001 tbh didnt enjoy it too much as I just kept zapping myself and not do much damage early game but I'm sure of o toughed it out it would have been fine
I really hate how in this game you have to change your equiptment every 2 leves, including rings and neckles... It would be less problematic if vendors wouldn't have randomly generated gear or if you could craft your own gear with stats. In Divinity 1 you could craft your own gear with bonuses and you visited vendors only to sell junks and buy crafting materials and jewelry with good stats.
I know this is super late but Hydrosophist works really well with itself since chilled and frozen targets take more damage from water moves and a magic damage ranger + a physical damage melee is the classic combo so it probably would work pretty well in combat
@@BacadoTheSkoggy instead of a frost paladin, would it work with eternal warrior build? My party would be: Eternal Warrior / Ranger / Tidalist / Crystalline Cleric
Something I don't understand about a lot of these builds, is what class you choose to make the build. I'm starting to think that it doesn't matter as much, because you can allocate points accordingly, but there is builds like this where I'm not sure what class to choose so I can get all the proper spells and things of the sort. Is there something I am missing? I am extremely new btw
I've been playing through with a friend and running a build more like your Stormchaser, but I've found that that build actually synergizes very well with Hydrosophist, since Rain > Hydro cycle > end with Ice breaker > aero cycle. Would be interested to see what you guys could do with that.
I have a Hydro Summoner/Stormchaser combo, and it's working well so far. The Summoner isn't there to do damage, but to keep the ground wet, buff, tank some damage, and summon Electric (and soon, Cursed Electric) Incarnates. The Stormchaser does what they do best: fries everything! It's a really fun combo.
after act 1 of the game, u can respect all of ur characters at will . and you can decide which preset class ur companions will be when u met them, via dialoq
Which mage build would you consider the most fun out of stormchaser, blood mage and tidalist? Considering running one of these with a party of 4 so won't be taking lone wolf
The Stormchaser is probably my favorite, but I really like Tidalist and I have one in my party. I think Tidalist works well in a group, due to the heals and buffs Hydro has.
Might also be worth it to use a Tidalist and a Stormchaser in a Lone Wolf run, since the abundance of water fields means both of them will be able to capitalize on Shocked and Chilled.
god dam to many lone wolf in build like i get it the best of the best but do u will need to go into lone wolf to make a build work i know it make the game easy to play but there are other skill to use to make it work
Even though it's situational, Huntsman increases the flat damage you deal while elevated above your opponents. It might be better to swap between this and your polymorph/Wits idea if you know you're entering a fight with no elevation bonus, otherwise the base damage increase is just too good.
The average damage increase from Wits is inferior to the one from Huntsman, by quite a bit. Around 15 is probably all you'll ever need for spotting/initiative. You'll hit the Intelligence cap anyway, and where will you put your points then? Constitution is never wasted, but it won't up your damage any. Polymorph is good when you have use for several attributes and/or you want a well-rounded build, but this is clearly built to maximize damage.
Why maxing huntsman? You can go for polymorph = more int = the same damage % bonuses you get from huntsman but without being forced to have high ground
im no expert, but wouldnt you have to spend more precious int or wits points into memory to do that? high ground + crit sounds better to me without testing
I feel like this build has to have some high places to be efficient. What if you're fighting on flat surfaces, is the build just as good? Seems kind of situational.
Perhaps a silly noob question but at 7:20 (combat part) did you speed up your video? I mean it seems like the game is running with a faster speed or something.

skill levels from ability points are capped at 10 now. this build may or may not rely on it but in this guide he gets 20 Hydro alone from skill points which is not possible anymore. I'd say this makes a HUGE difference in act 2 and nameless island. Maybe not so much in arx anymore.
A true tidalist always crafts a bunch of winter blast scrolls, for when his spells are on cooldown, attacking with wands is for levels 1's
Damn I should have thought of that...
