to be honest, it's likely because they aren't based in the US! Dollars are REALLY expensive in most global south countries, so it was “more expensive” to them than it is to you guys! In my country a 5k dollar dress is probably the most expensive dress you can shop for locally. edit: I don't mean they can't charge more! I know small local business that charge american-rates to American costumers (as in, check around the price of your market), which i think it's perfectly fair! I just mean that 5k is a lot lol

The brand for that last dress deserves every ounce of publicity, advertisement and praise, because not only is the dress stunningly beautiful, but every dress is custom made so yours is unique to you, and they draw you in it, and call you and show you each step they take. I’m a dressmaker and seamstress (under my business profile) and I love these dress break downs. I create/design ball gowns as well as alter dresses, so I’ve seen my share as well as had to price my original designs. Sometimes people are taken aback by the cost of a custom gown because of the photos online promising similar dresses for $100-$300. But these videos are so helpful to show what expectations levels should be, sometimes you may be pleasantly surprised or terribly disappointed. But it definitely allows for more understanding and perspective as to what goes into high quality well made dresses. Thanks for sharing!

@nickymorantes I wish I would have known about this program. I was a homeless teen from age 16-18. I couldn't afford much, I could barely afford my basic necessitys and bus pass. Even though I was also working 2 jobs. So I didn't participate in any school functions as I had no money to.

Not recommending that anyone does anything illegal, but if you’re a poor, hardworking kid/a kid with an awful, abusive family that you’ve left so you’re making it out on your own young (like I was), and you can’t, or don’t feel you can go to prom, find some friends to hang out with instead. Even if it’s not that night. Do it another night. Just make that your memory. I had fun at that rave. That’s my prom night, even though I was wearing baggy ripped jeans, trainers, a crop top, some other accessories, and a hoodie. Plus, I’d actually remade/resewed a lot of my outfit out of old, recycled pieces of clothing/thrifted stuff, and I became pretty creative with how I styled my outfit, even though I was basically wearing ripped junk that most people would throw away. And I thought I looked pretty cool at the time nevertheless haha. For an illegal rave anyway lol. Just do something like that - without the illegal stuff. Get all your clothes and cheap accessories if you have any, and just style yourself in a way that you think looks cool. Use your imagination. You’ll feel amazing and have an awesome night. And if anything, you’ll just have fun coming up with cool outfits for a night. Memories are more important than pretty dresses anyway. And the world needs more happy memories, more creativity, and less fast fashion. My heart goes out to all of you kids in the same position that I was in. You deserve better.

She is an amazing creator who does alterations - she is the kindest sweetest and yet also one of the most customer centric caring people on the internet. She makes content about doing alterations on sometimes very dodgy scammy dresses and she teaches people to know what is a scam vs what not. I love her content.

That shoulder pad totally the cherry on top! It really completing the whole look, even without the pad it's already gorgeous. Without the pad, you can wear it for extravagant party, but with the pad really make it Met Gala worthy
That last dress is so worth every penny paid for it! The designers are incredibly talented. They really understood Hope's needs and personality brilliantly, it suited her so well. I think the $50 dress was actually good! It of course was not like the picture but a beautiful dress. BUT THE $300 is gorgeous! The shimmer and sparkle is just amazing! $500 dollar dress has so much volume and the jewellery and accessories you styled with it is so good.Nothing can beat the $5000 dress the gold beads look like a waterfall and the accessories they sent was just UNIMAGINABLE also can we talk about how GORGEOUS you look in the dress! Agreed! The $50 dress seems like a great option if you're looking for an inexpensive prom or holiday dress on the fly. Could totally work as a New Years' Eve formal option. I like the $100 dress, but doesn't seem like a holiday option so much. But would still work for black tie, or even a summer formal wedding.

That final dress is incredible! I paid $5000 for a wedding dress that wasn’t custom made, so their dresses kind of feel like a bargain for how much detail and meetings they did with you to get it just right. My second favorite was the $100(?) dress or the one that was Belle inspired. I love that last one. I've seen wedding dresses that were so much more costwise and are not even half as pretty (also I hate white wedding dresses). That bronze gold color is so much more radiant that some white dress. Honestly, if I got my vows renewed, I'd go all out in a dress that was a one-of-a-kind. I go to a lot of costume events and the outfits made by small designers are amazing. Don't get scammed, there are talented people everywhere who will go all out to make a stunning dress.

You should consider donating dresses to “A Night to Shine”. This is a prom experience for developmentally delayed students who otherwise don’t have the opportunity to experience a glamorous evening. They bring the people in limousines, have “paparazzi” lining the entrance, do portraits, sometimes caricature artists, and much more. These evenings are usually sponsored by churches. It is a very worthwhile activity.
Not only does it look incredible, it looks more supportive in the bust than most the others. Does amazing things for you. Thats what you're paying for when you spend your money on this, good quality and support

I'm not a real girly girl. But, for some reason your video fascinated me. Struggle getting the perfect dress, even an ok dress, is real. Back in '78, I found my perfect prom dress for $10. I wore it to both my junior and senior prom. It even went on to be a wedding dress for my brother's wife, a bridesmaid dress twice and was used in another event before it was thrifted out. Sometimes you do hit the jackpot. BTW, the last dress was a fantasy come true, stunning.

My grandmother was a couture tailor and used to make the most gloriously beautiful clothes made exquisitely. So I grew up knowing this, then I was a model. Because you can’t either touch or feel when buying online, it’s crucial to understand how a garment costing £30 can’t look like a couture dress. Dam good job done there madam!!

I got my prom dress for 16 bucks , from a store they sold last seasons left overs. It was yellow silk chiffon , real silk, and was layered with an asymmetrical hem. Very 80s. I loved it.

That shoulder pad totally the cherry on top! It really completing the whole look, even without the pad it's already gorgeous. Without the pad, you can wear it for extravagant party, but with the pad really make it Met Gala worthy
That last dress is so worth every penny paid for it! The designers are incredibly talented. They really understood Hope's needs and personality brilliantly, it suited her so well. And that neck piece was the icing on the cake! I love love love the fact that every piece is truly original and one of a kind ❤❤❤

I think the $50 dress was actually good! It of course was not like the picture but a beautiful dress. BUT THE $300 is gorgeous! The shimmer and sparkle is just amazing! $500 dollar dress has so much volume and the jewellery and accessories you styled with it is so good.Nothing can beat the $5000 dress the gold beads look like a waterfall and the accessories they sent was just UNIMAGINABLE also can we talk about how GORGEOUS you look in the dress!

Yeah the $50 is actually my second fav (obviously 5k wins by landslide lol). The rest look like they just wouldn't hold up to even a single night out. Like you'd return looking every different than you left.
Agreed! The $50 dress seems like a great option if you're looking for an inexpensive prom or holiday dress on the fly. Could totally work as a New Years' Eve formal option.

Your conclusion is spot- on. Lots of pretty dresses in this video but that last one. Of you want that (lots of detail, lots of fabric, lots of individual feedback and a perfect fit) you're gonna have to pay three price. Absolutely takes the cake omg it's incredible.

I paid $5000 for a wedding dress that wasn’t custom made, so their dresses kind of feel like a bargain for how much detail and meetings they did with you to get it just right. My second favorite was the $100(?) dress or the one that was Belle inspired. Love that you’re donating them to the Cinderella project ❤ I’m UT based and never heard from them before, but now that I have I think it’s time to clean out my closet

I love that last one. I've seen wedding dresses that were so much more costwise and are not even half as pretty (also I hate white wedding dresses). That bronze gold color is so much more radiant that some white dress. Honestly, if I got my vows renewed, I'd go all out in a dress that was a one-of-a-kind. I go to a lot of costume events and the outfits made by small designers are amazing. Don't get scammed, there are talented people everywhere who will go all out to make a stunning dress.

You should consider donating dresses to “A Night to Shine”. This is a prom experience for developmentally delayed students who otherwise don’t have the opportunity to experience a glamorous evening. They bring the people in limousines, have “paparazzi” lining the entrance, do portraits, sometimes caricature artists, and much more. These evenings are usually sponsored by churches. It is a very worthwhile activity.

I'm not a real girly girl. But, for some reason your video fascinated me. Struggle getting the perfect dress, even an ok dress, is real. Back in '78, I found my perfect prom dress for $10. I wore it to both my junior and senior prom. It even went on to be a wedding dress for my brother's wife, a bridesmaid dress twice and was used in another event before it was thrifted out. Sometimes you do hit the jackpot. BTW, the last dress was a fantasy come true, stunning.
This video is brilliant. It clearly demonstrates what constitutes the difference in price and quality from cheap to expensive. My grandmother was a couture tailor and used to make the most gloriously beautiful clothes made exquisitely. So I grew up knowing this, then I was a model. Because you can’t either touch or feel when buying online, it’s crucial to understand how a garment costing £30 can’t look like a couture dress. Dam good job done there madam!!

I got my prom dress for 16 bucks , from a store they sold last seasons left overs. It was yellow silk chiffon , real silk, and was layered with an asymmetrical hem. Very 80s. I loved it.
