There's plenty of 355s out there to replace parts with if things go wrong. The F50 GT, well, you just better hope Ferrari is willing to work on one of their uber rare prototype cars from 20 years ago, and you better be ready to pay probably more than what the car is actually worth to get it fixed.
Since when did F1 use 4.7 L, oh, right, NEVER. If you want to see race cars that actually had f1 based engines, look at the peugeot 905. 3.5L v10 12,500 rpm.

F50 GT. The F50 GT is by far the fastest production race car ever built for the track. The car weighs around 2,009lbs, with 750hp, and 383lb-ft-tq. It's more aerodynamic than an F-22 Raptor, and it handles, arguably, like an F1 car. There were only 3 of these cars ever built, however, and one of the 3 is owned by Ferrari.
@@projectr2451these are racing track cars, but not pure track monsters. F50 GT was a hydrogen bomb in comparison to atom bombs. It eats everything up.
@bynddrvn5 That's because it's the same V12 they used in the V12 F1 car in 92, but they just increased displacement and the exhaust is more restrictive......although less restrictive on the GT version. It's actually about 580hp at 10,500rpm and 390 ft lb of torque. They tried upping the displacement to get more torque for the heavier F50 chassis. By virtue F1 cars don't produce a lot of torque because they have very little to pull around in terms of weight.
I bet you felt honored to share the same track with two legends, they dont even seem to be trying hat hard. The noise is just amazing, id love to see one of these F50GT against a Mac f1 gtr. Thanks for posting.
With the F50 GT, it's another 'what could have been' moment. It's sad that it didn't even receive a proper race livery before Ferrari pulled the plug. Thank you for the video.
damn the world is an unfair place. why don't I get to do this stuff? also the quality on this video is misleading. this is the best f50 gt video on youtube. holy cow
Wow, that's incredible. Your F355 was able to stay with the F50GT in the corners fairly well though. The F50 was probably not flat out, but still, that's impressive.
@bynddrvn5 The F50 engine is a slightly detuned version of the 93-94 F1 Engine. Other than that, it is the closest resembling F1 to production car engine ever produced.
You shared your trackday with 2 of the greatest racing Ferraris of all time, what a amazing day for you. I did a trackday a few years back and there was a Mac F1 with us, seriously quick car!!!
F50 Gt fun fact. It did the fastest time ever on Ferraris test track formula one cars not excluded. This means it was faster than the 333 race car. Amazing! This would own around the Top Gear track
@bynddrvn5 The F50 GT never raced. They made like 3 or 4 with plans to race but scrapped the idea......unsure why. I believe they disassembled a few, but Ferrari still has the tubs of the cars at their factory in Maranello.
Top put it into perspective its more than 5!!! sec faster than the FFX which clocked at 1:16, 599XX at 1:15 and the 333sp at 1:11 around Ferrari Fiorano test track. The F50 GT was faster than all of them. Ferrari has since then removed this info from their site probably because it would make the FXX and 599XX look slow. The F50 GT was a true fullblod racecar.
This is my car now, i converted it to Manual and totally overhauled it, i love that this video is here. You can see what the car looks like now on my channel
That F40 isn't the base model lol. It's the F40 Competizione(LM). This version came with 700HP as opposed to the stock 500HP. That's the only reason why it's ahead of the F50 GT1....granted they weren't all out racing.
I think the more better place for Ferrari to compete with McLaren is F1 where the difference is visisble-spec after 2007 season.Ferrari is a more than just a car,its a whole life style-A psasion people dream of.Ferrari is a profession in itself with some of the most finest crafted cars. The prestige with the name of Ferrai, McLaren can't earn that even if they blow Ferrari factory & win each F1 season after they do that
@strikeeagle345 Yes maybe I expressed myself a bit clumsy, sure the Ferraris of today sound cool but I would really like Ferrari to have V10's and V12's again. For me V8's belong in American muscle cars or maybe an off-roader, but not a racecar like Ferrari. V12's has a more nice sound with a higher pitch and it sounds like... I don't know what, like it can go supersonic or something. I just love it.
What I'd do for that GT1, Oh God thats a ridiculous car. It just PULLS away from the F355 on that banked turn, its just toying with the F355, not even trying really. Cudos to both drivers, they really know their stuff.

@wizardofleotards He is in the F355 which has half the power of the F50 Gt and the guy in F50 isn't going anywhere near the limit of the car. Besides he has skills keeping up on a exclusive race car in a street car.

Great video. F50 GT is awesome, as is the F40 LM, but this guy with the camera in the 355 is a way better driver IMO. Or at least he was pushing more

You can tell by the sound of the f50 that the engine was sourced from an f1 engine

Do you think the F50 GT would be able to beat cars like the LaFerrari FXXK, P1 GTR and Zonda Revolución?
On Fiorano, it did a whooping 1:11 lap according to some of the people who worked on it so yes, it would crush these cars.

The F50 sounds incredible
i love the f50 gt, sounds incredible. but the driver in the 355 is a very good driver, he is keeping very well up with the f50 gt.
Greatest video on the internet.
God, what a noise - especially on the lift-off... wow!! Thanks for that!
The potato they filmed this with delivers solid quality 👌
It's old! I used to watch this video years and years ago.
cca 20 year old video...what do you want? Just listen to this sound.

Quite possibly the greatest Ferrari that will ever be built
the f50 gt is from other world and the f40 its just magic
THis is the most beautiful sound of a Ferrari.
Ferrari's are insanely fast. Amazing vehicles.
i think the 355 did a good job :) i think its an awesome car! The f50gt is an incredible machine..

"Enzo" FXX Evo run on Fiorano in 1.16
333SP Barchetta did a 1.11
finally F50 GT1 did an unofficially 1.09
