Nowadays, if you want to buy a 993 GT2, it costs so much you could've bought all the cars back then for the same money. Crazy... Impressive how well the GT2 did, despite it being a comfortable interstate cruiser with occasional track day use against two thoroughbred race cars for the street with F1 technic.

This video really shows that for it's speed superiority, the F40 is more than a handful to push towards its limits. In this way the F50 is better since you can push it closer to its limits without having to drive on the ragged edge. Still, the outright speed superiority of the F40 has to be respected, and it is obvious why Ferrari themselves never allowed direct comparisons between the two cars as it would be obvious that the F40 is the faster of the two. That wouldn't exactly help them sell F50s (when the car was new), but the passage of time has shown both cars to be such fantastic and collectible machines.

Well it all depends on what country you are from. I'm from Jamaica so every car here is over a million Jamaican dollars lol!!! But good to see there cars driven how they were designed to be driven. And God, that F50 is just delightful. Sounds and looks so sexy!
No electronic and computers, no assists, no power steering, no abs, standard suspension. It's completely analog. It's 100% controlled by the driver. The F50 as well but it has electromagnetic suspension so it's semi analog.
This is such an amazing collection of cars driven at the limit. Some of these are worth millions today. The F40 may have clocked the fastest lap and trap, but the sound and smoothness of the F50's V12 wins it for me. Wonder where that car is today! Gem of a video.
The cars included here are all stunning. Talk about top-shelf for the era. Even today some of these cars are sought after. Certainly the 993 GT2 and the F40. To see them race around Suzuka is a real treat. And that Lambo in blue...so beautiful!

I only watched this video because of the F50 absolutely amazing, I had a 1/16 scale model of that car when I was a small child, this is the best video I've ever seen
The best part of the video is when the drivers express the qualities of the cars at the end, the F40 is a 1989 model and looks great sounds great and but most of all is great fun to drive
F40 and F50 personally my best sports cars in the world. They are perfect at power/traction ratio and so much emotional. F40 basically a GO kart with V8, and that F50 sound 😍
Ferrari 1-2 awesome! I love the F50 so much, it's always been one of my most favorite Ferrari. These videos are so great. Them Japanese sure know how to drive.
Nakaya-san is definitely part of my top three drivers of BMI ^^ He stays in front not by abusing blocks but by braking very late, staying cool-headed and using clean racing lines. Hattori-san is also part of my top three. He probably is a very nice guy and fun to hang around... just like when he drives.
It's sad the F50 was shit on back in the day when it first came out. I always loved and appreciated what the F50 was, most did not at the time. Over time it turned into a true legend in the car world.
Imagine Gan-san's pace was 1/4 sec slower in last last lap. The last hairpin with ABS less F40 brake lock, everyone'd had a chance to see one of the most spectacular/expensive rear ending in history of automobilia.
@@ivonevistic3776 I don't think it is necessarily straight piped, Japanese houses would make a custom exhaust for anything. They had the best sounding exhaust for the E60 M5 in one of the episodes, haven't heard an E60 with that sound since.

Getting those cars together is something crazy on its own. Racing them is a whole different kind of insane! The F50 sounds like the trumpets of jericho and the GT2 is putting up a real fight for its age!

Literally my two favorite Ferrari’s all time. Can’t really tell you which is 1 and 2. As a kid the f50 was my dream car. As I got older I fell for the f40. Both are incredible. But the f50 always seems to get little love in the auto world as a true Ferrari F car. But I think this video shows it was more than capable. Overall, the f40, being the older car, and still performing so incredibly, it’s understandable why it’s so beloved. But thank you for doing great justice to the f50. Great video as always. What are you talking about? The 993 GT2 is a Homologation special meant to compete in the GT2 racing class.
It's more race car than F40 and F50.

Read a bit about gt2. It's not even built by standard factory but Porsche motorsport division. Race car with plates. Ferrari is just far superior.

Tsuchiya is holding onto that F40 for dear life, while Kurosawa could drink a cup of coffee and eat a croissant in that F50 while overtaking everyone
Yeah he decided to attack seriously way too late. The F40 would have eaten the F50 otherwise.

Literally my two favorite Ferrari’s all time. Can’t really tell you which is 1 and 2. As a kid the f50 was my dream car. As I got older I fell for the f40. Both are incredible. But the f50 always seems to get little love in the auto world as a true Ferrari F car. But I think this video shows it was more than capable. Overall, the f40, being the older car, and still performing so incredibly, it’s understandable why it’s so beloved. But thank you for doing great justice to the f50. Great video as always. Since I was a teenager you guys have the best spirts car videos. Next time include the nsxr!! My favorite Japanese car
