Impressive how well the GT2 did, despite it being a comfortable interstate cruiser with occasional track day use against two thoroughbred race cars for the street with F1 technic.

What are you talking about? The 993 GT2 is a Homologation special meant to compete in the GT2 racing class.
It's more race car than F40 and F50.

Read a bit about gt2. It's not even built by standard factory but Porsche motorsport division. Race car with plates. Ferrari is just far superior.
Real racing with real drivers. Driving the cars like they were meant to be driven. It's a beautiful thing.. And also hearing the F50-- reminding us how F1 used to sound like. Spectacular driving!
That F50 sounds better then todays F1 for sure (yes a V12 is just awesome!).

@@befer V8s in F1? They have V6 bi-Turbo engines now which sound like vacuum cleaners.
The F50 engine is actually based on that of the 1990 641 F1 car. It has a 65 degree V angle and 5 valves per cilinder.

That F50! Orgasmic to the ears! And the F40, catching up from the back, though it did look like the driver was wrestling a bear the entire time. Awesome race! Awesome cars! Nice to see them in the wild and not in a some garage as an investment piece.

This is such an amazing collection of cars driven at the limit. Some of these are worth millions today. The F40 may have clocked the fastest lap and trap, but the sound and smoothness of the F50's V12 wins it for me. Wonder where that car is today! Gem of a video.
i wouldnt count the fastest f40 lap, since it cut the chicane in the last lap
maaan this is LITERALLY a manifestation of my Gran Turismo video game days where I raced with similar cars...man I miss those times...where cars were passionately built for a purpose and not just stored as garage queens...those Porsches too, amazing cars and what sound the Ferrari makes!

F40 Cut the last tight apex on the Final lap which was lap 3 and marked as his best lap but it does not count. F50 dominated !!

@@jnr1989 In a podcast named "the smoking tire" interviwed a BEST motoring producer and he said that the cars were private owned because thats no way the brands let them their cars to race in a circuit bumper to bumper like that!For me,it's the BEST car show ever!

@@jingorooroad2559 I dont know for sure,the wheels and the stickers looks to me like an race car from the japanese gt championship,a private racer owned one.The producer said that the budget for the show was not great and the drivers show up because they were allowed to wear sponsors and such.
The cars included here are all stunning. Talk about top-shelf for the era. Even today some of these cars are sought after. Certainly the 993 GT2 and the F40. To see them race around Suzuka is a real treat. And that Lambo in blue...so beautiful!

It's sad the F50 was shit on back in the day when it first came out. I always loved and appreciated what the F50 was, most did not at the time. Over time it turned into a true legend in the car world.

Ya that's pretty surprising considering the GT2 probably has very little sound deadening either, it's a testimony to how silencious the 911 is and to how loud the F50 is

Had the best driver (tsuchiya) is more track focused started 7th cut on the last lap and still coulnt take the lead thats simply 'cause the F50 is faster. Sorry

F40 and F50 personally my best sports cars in the world. They are perfect at power/traction ratio and so much emotional. F40 basically a GO kart with V8, and that F50 sound 😍
Proper racing here. Legendary cars in its glory, hate to see them being parked in some underground garages and living in dark for most of its time nowadays...

I always loved the f50 from the first time I seen one, the most underrated Ferrari of all time.
The best part of the video is when the drivers express the qualities of the cars at the end, the F40 is a 1989 model and looks great sounds great and but most of all is great fun to drive

Literally my two favorite Ferrari’s all time. Can’t really tell you which is 1 and 2. As a kid the f50 was my dream car. As I got older I fell for the f40. Both are incredible. But the f50 always seems to get little love in the auto world as a true Ferrari F car. But I think this video shows it was more than capable. Overall, the f40, being the older car, and still performing so incredibly, it’s understandable why it’s so beloved. But thank you for doing great justice to the f50. Great video as always. Since I was a teenager you guys have the best spirts car videos. Next time include the nsxr!! My favorite Japanese car
These guys are my heroes and I have been watching them since the late 90s. They inspire me to do track days and they are in my heart as I attack the track!
The f50 seems so under appreciated by so many people. If I had the choice I'd always take it of the f40. It had a hard life being in the f40 shadow but was harshly reviewed to boot and never truly got the success it deserved.

@@tritonefreeze4058 I imagine that the XJ220 would perform similarly to the Diablo. Too heavy and soft to compete with the more track oriented Porsche's and Ferrari's.
A 959S would've been epic, and probably would've thrown some shade at those Ferraris. But, the Porsches here are underdogs and that's why I like them.

F40 hands down the most brutal and beautiful of the listed cars.
Damn. The F40 scored the fastest lap by almost a full second and came in second place.
Because it cut the last corner, but yes it was faster than the F50 in corners. But the F50 was faster in straights.
996 GT3 looked very good amongst the other cars. Especially in the corners!
