The world's first supercharged Corvette E-Ray certainly puts down some impressive power numbers. 734 wheel horsepower and 793 lb-ft of torque to the wheels to be exact. Built by @ParagonPerformance and @LingenfelterLPE , this pushes the quickest ever Corvette into top tier supercar and borderline hypercar levels of acceleration. But what was even more impressive was how drivable the car was, being able to use the power and have the car behave on the street was properly awesome. There have been many comments about the transmission and clutches on the car. As mentioned in the video, when I drove it, the car wasn’t 100% dialed in. It went straight back to Lingenfelter for more calibration work.
The 3rd to 4th gear was not the clutch slipping. Other moments were wheelspin induced.
I’ve driven another aftermarket forced induction C8 and the shifting was orders of magnitude worse than this. It’s challenging to tune these cars.

It’s too bad that the TCU still isn’t unlocked. You can hear that transmission struggling.

Is it that or is he just shifting and immediately lifting the throttle. I’m not sure he is giving us an accurate depiction of the car’s performance. I really think it’s how he is driving it, a couple of pulls on another street sounded much better, so I think it’s just him trying to make it through 3 gears and he just can’t before hitting 80 on a side street
He's short shifting in between 3rd and 4th gear that's why it sounds like that
Id say it has more to do with the stock clutch's in the trans than the tune.
Alright if what you claim is happening This is what happens when you build something that no one has built before. The car is still getting to the right spot. I don't disagree with you but I also don't agree with you because I know the owner of the E-Ray.

Agreed. He was hitting the paddles and it wasn’t responding to it. It is a lot of torque. Still like it though.

I love turbos, but supercharger has a linear torque band like an NA engine, and the punch of the electric motors is a great combo. That thing has 200 lb-ft of torque per wheel!!! The tires are all important.

Unrelated.. I've always thought if they just softened the edges this car would look so much better.
It sounds amazing. I don't think the trans is handling all of the power, though. They should but more power into the electric motor so the back doesn’t slip so much.

Nice work, but need to mention there’s a quite noticable lag between shifts and pushing power and can definitely tell it also needs a transmission tune to change shift logic and engagement.

Awesome car, but needs springs with the power upgrade. The car is making 200 ft lbs more torque at a lower rpm than ANY SF90.

Just goes to show at any price point money doesn’t buy cosmetic taste. At least he didn’t put a firebird on the hood with cowhide interior and hot wheels flames on it yet. I’ve seen much worse tastes in modified cars gone wrong. With all the money in corvettes he should sell them all and get the ZR1 this summer. Neither is a good daily so I’d prefer the top trim over multiple Corvettes.

She needs a Dodson clutch kit. Poor girl. She might do better on auto. Sick powertrain tho, best of all worlds. Just heavy as hell. 🤷♂ other than that, depends on its purpose you give it. As a daily, its close to perfect! For track, not saying its uncapable, but she'll struggle. Tires, brakes, speed, everything gets affected with weight... which is a master key to track days, lightweightness. Again, other than that, she sick! Just needs a clutch to handle the added torque. Also HRE 527M wheels would look better without the rally inspired venting.
After we installed the Eventuri Intake & Fabspeed exhaust, the E-Ray was only 75lbs heavier than the exact same spec C8 Z06/Z07.
@@ParagonPerformance and? What about the supercharger weight? 4000 lbs is still heavy for a sports car. But weight aside, like I said, its a sick overall package. A lot of car for the money.

That’s what’s I’m saying these guys love modding these cars to no end to make it fast in a straight line, constantly in the shop breaking parts and doing Maintenance only to be slower in any situation against a plaid.
When you say the plaids faster they will bring up track credentials made by a professional driver which their car will never see the track time let alone leave the garage or tuning shop.

@@Json918also track times are very relevant because there’s tons of cars that see track days nobody cares about straight line racing anymore that’s irrelevant when you consider the pedestrians and innocent lives that are endangered when you race on the street also there’s tons of cars that are faster in a straight line than a plaid lol a plaid only does 200 mph with 1100 hp 216 mph when modded which isn’t fast put this into perspective a hellcat does 203 mph stock with 707 hp a demon with 840 hp did 211 mph so the plaid is nowhere near the fastest in a straight line at all

In all real life situations the plaid will leave this car in the dust, don’t lie to yourself if you think otherwise. Plaids are fast where and when it matters.
