- At the 2016 Yulin Dog Meat Protest in London outside of the Chinese Embassy I interview demonstrators asking them if they think that it's hypocritical to protest against eating dog meat if you consume the meat of other animals.

I don't think I'll ever change opinion on smoking. I know it's bad, but so is drinking, yet people do it all the time. let me have my smoking cafe/restaurant and let me get sick if I want to, non-smokers are not forced to go to such places and if everyone's consent is present, where the deal? I will not puff smoke in non-smokers face, but it's just anoying that it's forbidden and so taxed, when millipn other unhealthy stuff is allowed. smh

Laura Grillo Do it gradually. Make sure you are aware of the dietary needs of your dog and make sure your dog doesn't have any food allergies. Also, observe your pet while they're transitioning to be sure your pets body is adapting to the new food. There are lots of websites to help you.

Forcing a carnivore to eat vegetables is a form of abuse. They can't take large amounts of vegetables as omnivores, in particular legumes.

FYI, every type of animal tortured and killed by humans is someone different, dogs are dogs, pigs are pigs, etc. And yes, some do have it even worse than others, like dogs in China and elsewhere. Betraying animals who’ve been our loyal friends for eons adds onto the crime, making it even more vicious and the people even more lowdown. That doesn’t mean cows and others aren’t tortured horribly for people’s appetites or that it isn’t just as wrong.

Just found your account, also vegan at 16 male. Love it and don't ever ever wanna go back, after a couple months my sister, dad and his partner are now all vegan. So when people say "what is one person going vegan going to do" well I've made a big impact and spread to message to almost a hundred people at my school and slowly starting to open people's eyes.

my dogs are vegan lol they can definitely live healthy lives. and actually they have less or zero allergic reactions on a vegan diet because most allergies in dogs is caused by the protein source in their food.

Hi Brie, there are a few companies that make vegan dog food - we couldn't get any in our local pet shop (although they have now started selling vegan treats so demand must be going up!) We order ours online and get Yarrah Organic Vega which our dog loves :-)

équi-libre Well that's my point. How is a dog any more innocent, loving, or intelligent than a cow pig or chicken? They are all equally as deserving of love and life, none of them should be killed, and none are superior to the other. In this society it's considered ok to kill cows and pigs and chickens, but in China it's considered ok to kill dogs, and we find that cruel as sickening. We need to do some self reflection and realize that just because it may be ok in our society, killing cows and pigs and chickens is no better.
