Hello, thank you for the exercises! I found that they are really effective to relax the nerve. I ofter get numbness on my pinky when I'm sleeping because I tend to bend the elbows all the way. Another situation is when I'm using the computer I tend to support my elbolws bent 90 degrees on my chair, this causes tingling and a bit of pain along my forearm and pinky, what do you reccomend in terms of positioning when working on the computer, should I try to maintain the elbows straight with the keyboard and mouse as far away as possible?
Hi! You're welcome. I'm glad you found them useful! Yes, you are right in terms of positioning. There are sleeves to use at night to prevent involuntary elbow flexion. In terms of desk ergonomics, yes, try to have your forearms supported and with as little flexion as possible.
My pain is not in the elbow. It is in my wrist on the same side as my pinky finger, and on the underside of my upper arm. I’ll try these exercises and see if it helps. Thank you.
@@aiv9570 I’m actually a 67 year old woman lol. However, my husband trigger pointed and massaged my back, especially above and around the scapula. He did this on two days with a rest day in between. Then I triggered pointed my entire arm and concentrated on the forearm and especially on the same side of my pinky finger (it was my left wrist and finger.) I could feel a thickening on the capsule just above my wrist on the same side as the pinky. Then I kept on a wrist support for a few days. I tried to keep my wrist in the anatomical position. This was a bit challenging because I do big cooking with large pots. I also used 1kg weights plus these exercises. The pain totally disappeared after about a month. Every time I feel the pain in my wrist I wear a wrist support. Just a cheap elastic support I bought at the chemist and I cut a hole in it for my thumb. Hope this helps.
Hi, any advice welcome here. I have ulnar palsy of the hand as a result of entrapment. I did have incredible pain and numb 4/5th digits, but all pain is gone and most feeling has returned to fingers. Neck & arm position will precipitate some tingling in my hand again. One thing I cannot seem to get info on is when fine movement and strength will return to the hand and at what point is the decision made to approach surgical intervention after no improvement of the palsy?

I work out in the gym and I have ulnar nerve compression (atested by exams). The doctor recommended me to stop working out in the gym for a month or two and do physiotherapy. But the physiotherapist thinks that I should keep training, by reducing the weight and increasing the reps. What should I do? I'm confuse. Thanks for the video!
Yes we would always want you to keep doing what you love however there's a fine line. You don't want to keep irritating things etc. I'd just be mindful of exercises that cause your elbow to go into a deep flexion etc. Maybe just trying to keep your elbow at 90 degrees maximum for a short period of time when training.
I hit my elbow a few days ago and my fingers are numb from time to time. Hi, I armwrestle as a hobby and got injured when my hand was supinated palm up position and it went side ways (externally rotated). I felt something jerked or moved around my elbow and it has been 7 months and I still can't find the problem. The most pain comes when I try to internally rotate my arm while bent (45 degree and below) and/or with ulnar deviation and with wrist flexion. My entire hand and arm will shake with weakness when applying pressure this way. Could it be the ulnar nerve compression or tendon issue.

All of these will deal with this issue. It all depends on where you're at in your journey. Usually physiotherapists are first to help try manage this condition and if that fails then a surgeon/consultant will be advised.
No this is a different condition to golfers elbow (medial epicondylopathy). Though both conditions present at the inner elbow, golfers elbow doesn't usually have nerve symptoms.

I'm suffering from cubital tunnel syndrome symptoms since 3 years, and these exercises are increasing the pain. is it possible to treat it with just physical therapy and medication or is it considered a severe case now that requires surgery?
Just another guy out there with bad ulnar nerves, but one thing I think is important to note is that these movements shouldn't really be about stretching the ulnar nerve. These are nerve gliding movements which are meant to allow the nerve to glide back and forth through the channels that guide it through the arm. You can imagine it like a rubber band in a straw. If the rubber band swells because it becomes inflamed or irritated, or it sticks to the inside of the straw (ulnar nerve adhesions), then you will experience symptoms when moving in a certain way that puts tension on the nerve because it can't move through the straw as well as it should. Performing these movements regularly over time is supposed to help the nerve glide through these channels normally. You should perform them up until you feel tension but no further, not like a conventional stretch when stretching a muscle and you are supposed to push past the point of tension a bit. I find that performing the movements like this daily has done better for me. When I first started doing them and treated them like normal stretches, my pain worsened almost immediately. Definitely talk to a doctor though, 3 years is a long time and nerve damage takes forever to heal unlike bones, muscles, and other things in the body. You definitely don't want to get to the point where muscle wasting occurs.
hey! for me i dont feel any pain, i just feel tingling and numbess on my pinky and half of my ring finger. I also feel weak when I lift weights especially in curls. I stopped working my left arm for now, it's been a week. Hopefully I can come back next week :( It's so sad tbh
This is quite common and not necessarily means that you will develop a full blown cubital tunnel. You could use the nerve glides as prehab (prevention) from the issue getting worse.
Thanks for a great video! I'm trying to fix my cubital tunnel syndrome without surgery. The best and safest option is to check with a health care specialist. Check if moving your head replicates your arm symptoms. You would expect some exacerbation of your symptoms if the issue is in the neck.

Did exercise for months, wont help at all. waiting for an operation

It's difficult to advice this ongoing issue for you as it could be caused by multiple things. I would suggest getting a face to face appt for an accurate assessment and then they can guide you down the correct intervention pathway.
AFTER they SOAK your insurance for EVERY STUPID IDIOTIC thing that is NOT the problem !!! Even tho my physical therapist WONT admit it outright we BOTH know it’s just going through the motions . How long do the exercises take to help?
while bench pressing i do get this tingling sensation generating from the elbow till the little finger, barbell press and pushup seems ok,will be trying this to see how it helps
Thanks, my pinky been numb/tingly for over 2 weeks because of this cubital tunnel, the exercises did help slightly but immediately the tingle feeling came back. I know mine is from driving long distance and putting weight on my elbow and then sitting in a class room, elbow best on desk
Modifying your activities would be the first step. Try to avoid the aggravating factors you mentioned above. Exercises may take much longer to help.
@@AMRPhysiotherapy thanks

Three times a day is what we normally recommend with the nerve glides

Hi, I armwrestle as a hobby and got injured when my hand was supinated palm up position and it went side ways (externally rotated). I felt something jerked or moved around my elbow and it has been 7 months and I still can't find the problem. The most pain comes when I try to internally rotate my arm while bent (45 degree and below) and/or with ulnar deviation and with wrist flexion. My entire hand and arm will shake with weakness when applying pressure this way. Could it be the ulnar nerve compression or tendon issue.

What doctor/professional deals with cubital tunnel syndrome? I’ve heard orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine, physical therapists etc. Which one specifically?
All of these will deal with this issue. It all depends on where you're at in your journey. Usually physiotherapists are first to help try manage this condition and if that fails then a surgeon/consultant will be advised.
Is this the same as a golf elbow injury?
No this is a different condition to golfers elbow (medial epicondylopathy). Though both conditions present at the inner elbow, golfers elbow doesn't usually have nerve symptoms.

I'm suffering from cubital tunnel syndrome symptoms since 3 years, and these exercises are increasing the pain. is it possible to treat it with just physical therapy and medication or is it considered a severe case now that requires surgery?
If the conservative measures are aggravating your issue, you need to consult with a health care professional individually.
For me it's the snapping when i do pushups or dips then it becomes painfull i cant train anymor it's very frustrating 😢
I would get checked by a professional so they can guide you back to your training. You will get back to it! 💪🏻

The best and safest option is to check with a health care specialist. Check if moving your head replicates your arm symptoms. You would expect some exacerbation of your symptoms if the issue is in the neck.
How do you find out which one you got if they got the same symptoms? I visited 2 experts and they are saying 2 different things.
By having a thorough examination combined with your history they should be able to identify what your problem is.
