THE GREEK MACH LOOP - ITALIAN TORNADOS AND SAUDI F15SAs - 4K

- A trip to the Peloponnese in Greece bagged some interesting aircraft flying in the low flying area.
When I thought I'd never see another Tornado low level again the Italians had other ideas, they planted them low, swept the wings back and fired the burners up. "grazie italia!!". The Saudi Arabians dropped by also and gave us a couple few passes in their F15SA's.
There should be a video ready in a few days from Andravida air base where we were fortunate to get inside and obtain some footage from the current military exercise Iniochos 23

Different climate and lqandscape, great images again. Nothing beats seeing wild Tornados in their natural habitat. Must say, the Italian crews impress every bit as much as the RAF ones used to do. Forza, fratelli d'Italia!
Thank you. The pilots did great in the valleys ✈️👌
@@DafyddPhillips Indeed!
Hope you have a lovely time in Greece!
@@Pincer88 we did thank you 😎
Indeed the pilots did great work through the canyon. The sound already was amazing from my phone. I can't imagine how it was live in there.Again great video and shooting. Please let us know the next time to experience it live.....
Không quân Italy bay rất điêu luyện. Máy bay ném bom chiến lược rất tuyệt vời 🇮🇹👍
The spring? Greek landscape is a stunning backdrop for these low flying jets. Great work Dafydd!! and thanks.
Thank Martin. 👍
Man those tornadoes doing what they was made to do. Fast and Low. 👍👍💖
Indeed ✈️😎👍
Sitting on my deck watching another great airshow. Wow Greece has some beautiful canyons to zip through. Lucky pilots....fly fighter jets and have such great visuals. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.......again
Enjoy your time in Greece. Have some Gyros for me.
Thanks Scott. 😎👍
Wow! Our Tornado ! Greetings from Italy
Love how the people shooting there all of a sudden start to cheer for italians supposely because of the way they fly
The Tornado is a beautiful airframe..love it.
Agreed 👍
Thanks Dafydd I was feeling a bit down in the dumps today…1 whole week of giving up smoking…this has taken my mind off the cravings…thank you as always ❤️❤️❤️
I love Greece 🇬🇷💪
Me too 🇬🇷🇬🇷👍
My money is on the Eagle. It's arguably been one of the best jets in service after decades since its appearance.
As a child I had seen there RF-84, then F-104 and Corsairs and Tornados exactly there, around these mountains. I never had a Camera with me…
Захватывающие зрелище на фоне гор! Машины просто прекрасны ! Какие виражи выделывают! Фантастика! , Thank you!!
Love your vids, stills and sounds...!...especially at the end with the lone "Wah Hoo Hoo...!...brings tears to my eyes everytime...thanks for sharing Dafydd...!...
Thanks Fred 👍
Tonka...best looking and sounding plane...ever...the RAF had some beauties...phantoms,jaguars,
Hunters, buncaneers, lightenings to name a few...as a child they were fantastic...and they still are today ❤
Sadly a very small airforce we have today Christopher. Thanks for watching
Amazing shots again and again they really are. Thank you for really giving your all to the pics you put out.

Great stuff! Looks like a hybrid between Kern & Mach.
Grazie per aver pubblicato questo splendido video!

Splindid landscape footage in a different environment in Low flying activities in Greece. 😎
Well the F-15SA Strike Eagle looks fantastic especially 🤩
Thanks Douglas. We hoped for some phantom f4s but unfinished business is a good reason to return 😁✈️👍🇬🇷

@@DafyddPhillips when was this filmed?
@@DafyddPhillips also want to say i love the fact you DONT have music playing in yoyr videos....the sound of the jet engines really does add to the effect

Awesome video! This is what inspires me to keep posting :)
Great footage, as usual! Watching fighters fly 'charges my batteries'.

Another great video fulfilling our "need for speed" Dafydd!
A pleasure Todd
I love Tornado. A beast ❤
Excellent !! thank you
Thanks for sharing; I always get a thrill. Cheers mate.
Range Finder Greg
Thanks Greg, appreciate you watching 👍
With all the deference due to the epic F15, in low fast flight through harsh terrain, nothing really compares to the Tornado.
One of the greatest tactical bomber ever made, with its formidable flying shark shape, screaming like a mechanical banshee.
It was far ahead of its times back in the day, before the portable ground to air missiles were invented, negating the very point of flying under the radar.
Flight software was loaded with a compact cassette...
Fun fact, italian air force still keeps some 40 Tornadoes in service, together with the Eurofighters Typhoons and the F35s.
We may love old things too much, but look at the darn thing... it was really a beauty.
In some very specific situation, I suppose they could still be useful, if equipped with modern missiles, for example for attacking ships not too far from costlines, or targeting frontline strongpoints.
Truth is that this sort of "duelling" airplanes are like battleships in WW2: still formidable, but too vulnerable to newest weapons.
Another fun fact: in case of need, two Tornadoes can share fuel, allowing one of them to operate with extended range, and the automatic low quote autopilot works fine in the dark, fog, rain etc. making it perfect for night attacks.
Always awesome my friend and fun to watch
Thanks Neil, appreciated.
1minute...34 secs in that tonka is smoking big time...love it ❤
Love it. Thank you!
Thank you, happy you enjoyed it! 😎👍
I made the cut 🤣 your photos are the best 👌
Thanks elwyn, was a great trip and look forward to your uploads ✈️✈️✈️💪🏼
That was just beautiful!!!
Thank you.
These fighter pilots are indeed on another level.
I love these fucking Tornados. So beautiful!!
Awesome, well done!
Thank you.
As usual great shooting David...can you share the specific location? I now have to add Greece to my photo holiday after Wales and Mach Loop... Vermont USA.
Bonjour
Tourjours de très belles vidéos. 👍👍
Merci 😎👍
Pretty impressive flight by the Tornado, right at the core of the environment it was originally designed for.
Daf, did you catch any Greek Phantoms in your stay over there?.
Greek Phantoms cammo scheme is gorgeous, one of a kind.
Most importantly, those Phantoms are the last flying ones of a legendary breed.
All in- flight photos of them won't be enough once, whenever it may be, they're out of the flying scene.
Thanks victor, the only phantoms we saw was a pair taking of whilst in andravida air base. We hoped to catch some low level but a reason to return another day ✈️🇬🇷👍
A rare sight in the UK great footage too 👍
Thanks!
Spectacular!
Thanks lance 👍
Stunning Dafydd
Diolch Rory 👍
Photographer shout " viva Italia".
Wunderbar ! 😁👍
Italians nailed it!
Amazing footage 👏May I ask what focal length you were using ?
Tornados for me!😊
Love a Tornado....
Some quality shots in there and great video. What size lense you using to catch them?
Thanks karl, I’m using a 300mm f2.8 with a 1.4 converter.
@Dafydd Phillips Cheers Dafydd, I'm thinking of heading to the loop beginning of next month, got a 100 - 400mm so should be enough I reckon.
Once again this is a great video and shots. Where is this area?
Thank you, it’s in the Peloponnese, Greece.
Respect
Tornado 🤤
I’m in love with those eagles 🦅
Me too ✈️✈️✈️👍
In my opinion, The Tornado is the 'meanest and fastest' looking military plane ever produced. Thanks for posting your video, great as always.
Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching
Muadibe: PanAvia “ Tornado” is a KANT ! In Serbia “ Tornado’s” is Shot Down with rocket “ Dvina”( Sam3) near city Smederevo . Second “ Tornado” , the MiG ‘s 21 shot down near CITY Kraljevo !
For your photos would you rather take a 1DX MKII + 100-400MKIi with a tele converter or 500mm F4 IS L + 5DMKIV?
I’m happy with the 1dx2 with 300mm f2.8. Could of done with a little more reach in Greece so 500mm would of Been perfect
Where in Greece is that loop? I haven't found anything about it? Great Video btw.!
The people in that house/hotel must get some good views!
Italians tornado #1!
Do you still get that electric feeling when they fly past?
I’d be buzzing!
100% 😁✈️👍
Italian badasses as usual ...
TORNADOS ANGEL OF SKY >>>>>>>>>>>>
...Low level sky angels...😁😁😁😁😁
Does anybody know whereabouts in greece these aircraft are flying? I was on holiday in Greece about the same time as this was filmed, and i can remember hearing fast jets.
I would love to see some footage of the Spanish F18s participating there as they belong to my local airbase
No mention of them having flown low level last week, they may next week
Sempre grandi i diavoli rossi!!!!
Grazie Mille
I like this powerful fighters jets
Con l'ala tesa a gloria o morte! W l'Italia!
Hello mate. Is it a better location than Mach loop?👍🙋
The weather is better for sure. The Peloponnese is such a big area with so many valleys the chances of catching jets is very slim. We were lucky to be in the right valley whilst iniochos 23 was taking place so the potential for a variety of jets was good also.
This is so good my fave jet and I miss them in the loop retired too soon
are 300mm lenses enough to fill the frame?
Here I used a 300mm with a 1.4 converter in full frame body. Small crop was needed. 400mm would if been perfect.
Tornados are simply at home down low. Just a big heavy bird that is rock steady in the turbulence. Great coverage Dafydd! Does anybody know what the airspeed and altitude restrictions are in this route?
Thank you, they certainly looked at home down low.Airspeed is approx 500knots and height about 500feet.
@@DafyddPhillips TKS Roger that.
Waiting for a pilot to post a video of a bunch of guys standing out in the middle of nowhere with cameras 😂 Thanks DP
Still waiting for it to happen 🤠👍
Where is the route start & finish?
Where exactly is this place?
Tornado just looks so right at low level Ooooh Yeeeeah ! ........and very difficult to spot against that broken rock face .
It camouflaged well with the rocks Fred.
Thanks for watching. 👍
Damn i miss seeing the tonka in UK skies
I do also, it Was always great to see in the Mach loop
hello i am french i watch your 24h on 24h
Merci. Happy you enjoy them ✈️😎👍
Am I tripping or does the Tornados look ultra close to the F14 Tomcat ? (which many here in the US still thinks is the best fighter jet ever made)
Very similar with the swing wing.
Thanks for watching
It's probably due to the Tornados having Variable Geometry Wings.
In certain particular wings angle opening they might indeed have looked similar to the Tomcats. I hope so anyway. It was a beautiful fighter jet.
Where is it?
Greece
It’s such a shame that the UK couldn’t still see the value in the future use of the Tornado, instead they spent even more of our money on new technologies!
