Hi Craig, Your RUclips channel is a real treasure chest, and I truly appreciate what you do for our KDP community. I’m planning to publish my first two coloring books inspired by the Demon Slayer anime series. I used a free AI generator and free Canva templates, but I haven't even created a cover yet. The reason for the delay is that I’m worried I might get banned if I publish my books because of potential copyright issues. Am I right? I've done some research, and I noticed something interesting: there seems to be a complete absence of people publishing Demon Slayer coloring books on Amazon KDP unless they are sponsored. It makes me wonder if getting a sponsorship is necessary to publish this kind of content. I'm not entirely sure if that's correct or why it seems to be the case. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for your kind words first of all and hopefully my response is helpful. I don't know much about that genre unfortunately so I don't know the copyright and trademark implications. However, assuming it's a copyrighted area then you can't use the demon slayer word anywhere in your titles, keyword, book, or even description really so you'd need to call it something different and not state it's similar to that series. In terms of the images if they are far enough away from the original, you might be fine, but if you used demon slayer art as a base or text prompts including demon slayer then yeah you'd probably be at risk of copyright infringement. That would be my initial thoughts, but as mentioned I'm not an expert on the area.
@@selfpublishingempire Thank you so much for your reply, Craig. I’m genuinely amazed at how quickly you responded and how detailed your answer was. In any case, you've been incredibly helpful simply by confirming my thoughts regarding copyright. Sometimes, it's not a deep solution to your problem that you need, but just a confirmation of your own conclusions-to guide you in the right direction, so to speak. In that case, it's not a big deal. I’ll try to create coloring books on a different theme and will continue to enjoy watching your videos. To be honest, I’d really love to see reviews on your channel about free resources for creating coloring books, crosswords, activity books, word searches, maze books, and sudoku. Of course, I can find this kind of videos on other channels (which I’m currently doing), but I enjoy your style of presentation, which is why I’m making this request. If you feel inclined to create such videos, I would be immensely grateful for your efforts. Best regards, Dariy
Thanks Dariy and good luck! I'll do a video on tools soon, with free and paid ones. Most of the good ones I use are paid unfortunately but tend to be well worth it!
@@selfpublishingempire I hate disturbing you again. It goes without saying you're not my private consultant, but you're helpful, honest and kind RUclipsr. Hopefully you would answer this question of mine as well. I've found a few coloring book with anime girls in bikinis on the beach. Does Amazon consider this kind of stuff as erotica? I just have some pictures where an anime girl in a woman Santa suit is lying on the snow making a snow angel + an anime girl in tight shorts and a top sliding down the hill on skis. Would that be considered as an erotica content by Amazon? I'm a bit confused. I don't want my account be banned. Best regards, Dariy

@@dariodellenavi7854 Unfortunately I haven't ever tried publishing anything approaching erotica so I wouldn't be able to help on that!
