I would love to see a video on realistic expectations. I absolutely love your advise and how you convey the information. I have shared your videos with anyone who is looking to start an etsy shop. My biggest question though is realistic time frames on etsy sales, views and so forth. Going through RUclips, I see a lot of information that seems a lot like pure luck. You are the only person I have stumbled upon that doesnt seem to give me false hope for becoming an instant millionaire in my first week.
Yes Etsy is definitely not a “get rich quick” scheme. With that in mind, there is no solid time frame for sellers to expect to get sales, sense it varies between different products and of course depends a lot of if the seller is marketing their products and optimizing their listings. I typically recommend to keep pushing and optimizing for at least 6 months before reconsidering your niche or product, if your shop is not making sales like you need.
Just as an fyi, media kits have been an industry tool used in marketing and promotion long before online influencers existed. They've simply changed for various industries, professions and platforms. So, when thinking of media kit templates - think broadly across many industries and professions!
Hi Kate, when putting a digital planner on etsy. On the PDF hyperlink do you add the 'view-only' option so that it doesn't open as an editable template? i'm pretty sure you do as when it opens on goodnotes you can then edit with their tools but just wanted to make sure before i list. Thanks!
I want to share my experience with you, I just created my account through it’s marketplace, and just uploaded a set of stickers with the a cute dog pictures,”created by my self with Ai apps”they suspended my account right away, and when I asked and claimed for reactivation, after 14 days , they answered we can’t reinstate your account and aren’t able to explain why, so disrespectful and disappointing.

My cousin and I were so excited to receive our first sale on Etsy after one month of set up. Sold my first digital templates created on Canva. And then followed by an email from Etsy that my store has been permanently closed. Our store was set up in NZ and bank out with physical address was NZ. However, I was administering our store from a different country not on ETSY'S list. So they never give us any options but just close it. Yep. Etsy is gone for me. I guess I have to go back to my website and develop it..
Oh my, I'm so sorry. I was planning to do the same which is to set up in a different country and run it from another which might not be on their list. Guess I shouldn't bother with setting up😔
Once you have created your design on Canva, where does it go to be purchased? Etsy? How will people know about it? Thank you for answering these questions.
You can sell it on a platform like Etsy, on your own Shopify site, or another marketplace like Creative Market. You can promote and spread the word about your shop on social media, via email, collabs with influencers or other sellers… lots of fun ways to market!

Hi Christina! So happy to help you get started! If you have multiple types of digital products that can fit into a certain style or theme, then they can be in the same shop. But if the niche or theme of the products are completely different, then I would recommend separate shops!
I can't seem to figure out what size template to make on canva to upload as a digital download on etsy for people to print such as wedding reserved seating signs, invites, welcome signs etc.. or does it not matter because they will have it printed at a local shop in the size they want? There are generally industry standard/common sizes for different types of printables- the best thing to do to get a starting point is to find some other Etsy listings for similar products and see what sizes are being included. Generally it’s best to offer larger sizes so the customers can use as is or scale down when printing- much harder to scale up without losing quality. You can also look to see what file types other similar sellers are offering- generally I’d say it’s best to offer PDF and JPG on Etsy!

Hi friend, you don’t necessarily need an LLC but it would be wise to legally establish your business (this can be done several ways). As far as computer requirements the Ram is probably as or more important than memory for digital products. Hope this helps.

I’d say yes as long as the items you are selling are related in some way- for instance all printable items or all items for teachers (just examples). I wouldn’t sell completely random products that don’t have any connection in the same shop.

There are lots of websites you can sell digital products online- could be a marketplace like Etsy, Amazon, or Creative Market. Or you could have you own e-commerce website hosted with a tool like Shopify or Squarespace. Also depends on what type of digital product you’re wanting to sell!
Been attempting digital art using the canva text to image. How do I generate the image in the correct size to use as digital downloads? Using custom size (largest size in the ratio), images are in the middle of the canvas, they don't fill the canvas; if I drag to fill the canvas it distorts the picture. I don't know what i'm doing. :)
Hmm... what style are you generating images in? If in a style that's not photographic, I'd think you should be able to drag it to the size of the canvas and then download as a high quality file- either use Canva Pro to download as high quality JPG/PNG or download as a PDF print and then use a third party converter website to convert to JPG/PNG and keep 300 DPI if you're creating a printable.

Absolutely! It takes implementing smart strategy and being proactive to promote and build momentum of course but there is absolutely great potential in selling digital products!
There are a lot of sellers in that niche for sure but that fact is actually great because it proves there is high demand. There is always room to break through, even in a saturated market. Just have to implement the right strategies!

Be sure to read Etsy’s seller policies in their handbook so you can feel more confident going in. :)
