Well done presentation Kate. It was clear and concise, rolling back to explain minor changes. Canva is great. I use in with conjunction with other creative builders.
Nice video. Good to watch and hear that an editable link requires Canva Pro. I keep thinking about it, maybe now I will try to fit it into my budget. It was great to see you do all the steps of the process, clear sharing of the details, and the final demonstration of how it works.
Actually, you can have the editable link without canva pro. I don't know if it has something to do with the servers, but in Spain it's free to get it. Check if when you click on share and click more at the bottom, if you can find the template link option. Hope this helps!

Hello, Very informative video! 1 quick question, if the buyer clicks the link and edits the template will the template be changed every time a new buyer purchases it and edits it to their liking? Or does MY template I created stay original for every new buyer? I hope I asked that correctly and you understand what I mean lol. Thank you in advance!
Great question! If you use the template link generated on Canva Pro, it automatically creates a COPY of the original template for the buyer to edit when they open it so your original isn’t touched :)
Thanks Kate, I do have a question; is there a way to prevent unathorized use of the link? Like a buyer can buy and decides to share the links with their friends that didn't buy. How do we prevent this?
There is a way to share it in edit form or view only. It should give you the option. If you are Pro, it is available. I'm not sure for the Free version.
Thanks so much for this helpful tutorial! Is there a workaround for using only the "free" elements or photos? And am I able to use a custom (uploaded) font for my template? Or do I have to stick with Canva's free fonts? Thanks in advance!
When you were NEWBIE to creating digital products, did you somehow test them to see if you did everything right and it would work for others? I know we don't want to find out the hard way from unhappy buyers. Suggestions/tips/routines for quality control?
Hi! Loved the video. Question: You mentioned that we cannot edit and resell their templates. However, you used a pre made Canva template to create the link file for the thank you card. Was that for the sake of the video? Should we no matter what, make one from scratch to sell? Sorry if I misunderstood! 🤦🏻♀️
Kate, thank you! You're little tid bits of advice throughout really helped. It answered some of the questions I was asking myself, like whether I can use pro elements when selling templates. This content is really helpful!
Hi Kate, thank you so much for this great guide!! It was super helpful. Quick question - if you create your own images/custom icons in Photoshop or Illustrator, can you upload those into your template and will they be accessible to the buyer? So sorry if this was a previously answered question, I didn't see it below. Thank you!
great tutorial Kate! Quick question - if I create my own asset (ex. a flower png I drew in procreate) and uploaded it to my template in Canva, will my buyer be able to access it? or can they only access Canva specific items? Thank you so much for your help and advice!
@Christy, a buyer can access images, fonts, etc that the seller used in the design, but they are not downloaded into your templates, folders, etc unless the seller sends you the file as a separate download. This means buyer only has access to canva items or images they have uploaded into canva. Unless this has been changed recently. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the video. Do you need a separate link for different customers? If you stop using Canva or accidentally delete the template, will they no longer be able to access the template?
Kate, loved the video and subscribed to your channel! Thanks for the great tutorial! I do have a question: If you have uploaded fonts that you have purchased from another source to Canva and used them in your digital template, will they be available to your buyers if they open the Canva file to do some editing? OR do you have to use Canva fonts? Thanks for your response!
Hey Kate! This is so helpful. I just have one question, hopefully you can answer, if I’m using Canva to design greeting cards, and I add my own text and other shapes and elements, is it okay to sell as a digital pdf for at home printing?
Hi Kate, Thank you so much for explaining the legal requirements of selling Canva templates (what you can and can’t do). I’m looking to find somewhere that explains this for google sheet templates (if I’m allowed to legally sell templates I create on google sheets etc). Is there somewhere specific I should be looking for this info - or a line in the terms and conditions? Thanks again!!
Hi Kate! I have a question: If I use free photos and videos from canva in my social media templates when I share the templates with a buyer can I leave them in the template? for example, I create an Instagram post with a tweet/meme and I want the background to be a video with moving clouds I found on Canva, can I share the template like this? Thank you!😘
I would suggest leaving them in the template, if not tell buyers where to find the photos. Buyers buy what they see, and get upset if the photos are only appearing in mock up or listing graphic but they can't access them. I have seen sellers getting bad reviews because of this.
Great tutorial! Just to make sure, is it okay to sell a template using all of Canva’s free user elements, fonts, etc.? Or are some of them only for personal, and not commercial, use?
You are the only one who has said that about Pro. THANKYOU I have so many designs that have so much pro on it ugh time to fix things before I start selling templates 😅. I'm doing all this on my phone which is a feat in itself
Thank you! I actually had to watch the video a few times, even though yours is probably the most clear and easiest to understand on YT, but I think I might be able to do it.

Would love to know this myself ✌️
@@digitallysayra same!
Thanks for asking! This is my exact question, too! Does anyone know the answer to this??
Hey Kate! This is so helpful. I just have one question, hopefully you can answer, if I’m using Canva to design greeting cards, and I add my own text and other shapes and elements, is it okay to sell as a digital pdf for at home printing?
great question
I truly appreciate people like you thank you
You’re welcome. Thanks for commenting.
The most informative and clear video I've seen thus far on RUclips -- thank you! Happy 2023!
Aww yay!! So glad to hear that. Best to you, friend! ❤️
Hi Kate,
Thank you so much for explaining the legal requirements of selling Canva templates (what you can and can’t do).
Thank you!😘
Yes you can share it😃
I would suggest leaving them in the template, if not tell buyers where to find the photos. Buyers buy what they see, and get upset if the photos are only appearing in mock up or listing graphic but they can't access them. I have seen sellers getting bad reviews because of this.
This video is truly helpful. I am planning to sell digital products. Hopefully I can start right away. Thabk you Kate.
I’m so glad! Cheering you on!
Thank you so much for this video. You answered so many of my questions and all of the info was found in one place.
You’re so welcome friend! Glad this was so helpful for you! 😊
Great tutorial! Just to make sure, is it okay to sell a template using all of Canva’s free user elements, fonts, etc.? Or are some of them only for personal, and not commercial, use?
I remembered Kate mentioned free one can only for personal use. If you want to sell your templates, then need to use pro. I hope my answer is correct.
Its actually best to use free elements for your templates. You can sell with both the free and paid plan of Canva now😊
You are the only one who has said that about Pro. THANKYOU I have so many designs that have so much pro on it ugh time to fix things before I start selling templates 😅. I'm doing all this on my phone which is a feat in itself
Happy to help friend! Glad you caught it before selling your templates! Cheering you on 🫶🏻
hi from Malaysia, your tutorial really helps newbies like me a lot...
Hi friend! So glad to hear that! 😊
Super straightforward and easy to understand. Thanks!
So glad to hear that! 😊
Thank you! I actually had to watch the video a few times, even though yours is probably the most clear and easiest to understand on YT, but I think I might be able to do it.
Thank you Josie! Cheering for you!
