  • How hard is it to strip weight from a small car?
We find out as we strip out the little Honda Jazz as a track car and weigh it all as we travel.
With a before and after on the 1/4 mile to see exactly what the weight loss can do!

For the vertical parts of sound deadening or even anywhere else you can use plumbers freeze that they use to freeze pipes just before cutting them its an aerosol. Did my full EG with it then just cleaned the residue up afterwards with some thinners.

Motegi wheels are very light and affordable, those plus some sticky rubber and what is essentially straight piping your car could've probably been the magic ticket to maximum weight reduction

I drive a fit and am thinking about tearing some junk out.
I like motorcycles because you are only using what you need to get around, but the roads here suck too much, there are bike eating potholes everywhere.
I figured maybe I can reduce the weight in my fit and get a little closer to that light bike feel

Did you empty washer fluid resevoir, you got about a gallon there full, also if you weight your car with a 1/4 tank of gas that should help factory car weight is weighed with full tank. That should be good for about 50 pounds. But you cant really show it in ur vid

Steel wheels are pretty heavy, you can lose a bit of weight there. Good work man

Nicely done! I'm not sure how heavy your Jazz/Fit's glove box door is but here in the states they are slightly different design and surprisingly heavy.
Roughly 15 to 18 lbs thanks to a steel plate and insulation if I recall correctly.

I've noticed that the glove box seems very heavy. Are there lighter replacements? Non-US market? I'm assuming the steel that's in there is some form of crash safety, knee bolster deal?
