True, I was expecting 40k, 50k, mby 70k. But not 135...
That number is approximate, because jet engine and rocket thrust is measured in units of force (EG Newtons, pounds), and not power (EG horsepower, PS, kilowatts). Bloodhound's jet engine can produce 20,000lb (90kN) of thrust in afterburner, with another 9000lb (40kN) coming from a solid rocket motor.

It would be amazing if you guys did a miniseries on "racing" street cars. Like things to look out for and maybe important knowledge for those newer to the racing scene. There was so much good info sprinkled into the HI/LOW series it would be so cool to just see like a full intro to "racing" a bone stock car off the lot and things every newer "racer" need to know to not crash or blow up their car

Hondas are just made that way, I have EJ9 Civic which is already low on power as is, but then again, it feels I could accelerate faster with a bicycle than with that car when it's under 5k RPM

If you want to type the Ä, Ö, or Ü letters, you can look up the letter you need and add “with diaeresis” to your search. For example, to type Nürburgring, you could look up “Nurburgring” or look up “u with diaeresis” and add that to the word. (When I say look something up, I mean to Google it, not to literally look up at the sky or ceiling.)

While donut is on their break, I’m hoping an up to speed can get made on “Texas Edition” vehicles. I see that badge on everything from Ford to GM, Chrysler Fiat, and Nissan trucks. What is it? I don’t even live in Texas??

If I were to own a FRS/BRZ/GT86 and want to squeeze out more power, I go for oval/rounded valve springs to unlock the power that seems static at a certain part of the engine's power band.
Stay triggered. The 86 engine isn't anywhere near of a technical marvel as the F20C in the S2000. That thing was putting out 124hp/L naturally aspirated. More than a Hurracan, R8, or Aventador. And it revved to 9k. A 86 is nowhere near as close to a S2000 in any performance metric. Your car is comparable to a Miata, Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Golf GTI. Learn your place.

@@MelvinKhosa the Miata is absolutely comparable to an S2000. At least just from a cost perspective. The money to buy an S2000 and get wheels, tires, coilovers, rollbar etc. Is like 5X as much as buying a Miata (which probably has all the standard "track car goodies" already installed) and turboing it. Then at that point, the Miata weighs another 300ish pounds less and has the same HP, the S2000 would get roasted by that Miata on the track all day. And the standard 1.6l in the first 2 years of the NA Miata revs to about 8600 so not even that far off from making cool vroom sounds.
Own a Miata and a Focus ST, used to own an S2000. Promise you, your S2k is an unnecessary money pit cuz the Miata is a better track car.
Me and my friend we built a extremely simple car, Took the chassis of a 2005 highlander, put a 2018 corvette engine in it, and put a single seat, I think it may be under 1.7 in wtp ratio

Sesto Elemento is close at 2200lbs 562 hp so 3.9 lbs/hp or there’s the catterham 620r that’s 1200lbs 311hp that’s 3.8 lbs/hp or the Hennessy venom got that weighs 2743 lbs and has 1244 hp and that’s 2.2lbs/hp.. still don’t know why 11 of these cars are on this list.

Yes, weight reduction has a direct correlation with improved fuel economy. The same amount of fuel will propel your lighter vehicle further and faster.

There was a guy in TN about 8 or so years ago that had an Ariel Atom 500 that had twin turbos I saw at a show one time. It was easily the coolest and best sounding car I’ve ever seen.
I remember the Toyota iq. It pretty much is a square. I had one in my shop at one point. I remember it was difficult to rack because it was so narrow lol. My lift arms looked like a U lol!

Depends on unit of measurement. Speed yeah, pretty puny but strength or endurance can be pretty good in some cases 😅

Humans aren't drag limited, so our top speed has nothing to do with our power output. According to a quick Google search top athletes can produce a peak power of about 2.5 HP, but only very briefly.

@@chm1ata Horsepower is just a unit of power, just like a Watt. 1 Horsepower (mech) = 745.7 Watts. Interestingly, with a powermeter on a bicycle you can find your own max horsepower. At max effort I'm good for a little over 2 horsepower.
