I have used the Volkl Cyclone for about two years. And before that I used RPM Team for several months until it discountinued. I'm a 4.0-4.5 player, and I couldn't tell the difference between the two. But Cyclone is a much better bargain with similar performance. In the last few months, I decided to change to softer poly because my elbow pain and wrist pain have gotten worse. I started using Volkl Cyclone Tour. Noticably softer than the regular Cyclone, so now I'm in the process of finding the right tension. I doubt the RPM Spin Power will be much different than the Cyclone Tour especially given the value. The Cyclone Tour is also better than the Solinco Soft Bite and the Yonex Tour Air with better feel and better predictability when I test played all three of them. I guess I have to try the Confidential now.

My go-to string is Luxilon Element 1.25 and it’s on your list! Love the feel of it especially on dense patterns. On my Gravity Tour (which is a dense pattern), no loss of control whatsoever even when strung very low and i can still generate some decent topspin! I used to use 4G, but had some arm issues and switched to Element. Awesome video!

I used to play with Babolat RPM Blast, great string, but only for the first 3-4 hours, then it goes completely dead on me. Then I switched to RS Lyon and never looked back, awesome string. I'd like to try the fabled ALU Power, but I'm afraid I'd like it, cause I can't afford it :) I break strings roughly after 6-7h of play, and play with an RF97.

I prefer it over vokl cyclone which does bag out quickly. Lately, I’ve been using gut in the mains with confidential in the crosses in my Ezone .

Hi There! My name is Sefer. Thanks for sharing your precious knowledge upon the wonderful-tennis. I play tennis since 2004. I feel still doubtful about knowing when it is the time to change strings. Some says you should pay attention to how your racquet makes sound when you hit at the strings. Some says push the sting lines up and down and try to see if it moves back...I think many player would like to hear your way to decide when it is the time for restringing the racquet as I do very much. Thanks again for all.

Just getting back into tennis more and hoping to play more USTA after covid. Hoping to so string myself. I've always played with hybrids (poly main, syn gut or multi or nat gut crosses) since I got competitive in high school.
So I'm a bit nervous about full bed poly as I've always been used to a bit of the arm cushion of a hybrid set up with much of the poly spin on the mains. I just got a new racket strung up with solinco revolution on the mains, and I'm excited to try hyper g and confidential next times..

Ok so I just finished tying Confidential.
Cause of arm issues I tied the confidential in the mains at 56 with a synth gut in the crosses at 56 in a Pure Strike 16x19,
I absolutely loved it, the control and spin is absolutely amazing, Not too stiff and the synth gut helped soften the stringbed but the confidential is my now new main poly string. The confidence I got was great and I could feel the ball leaving with huge amounts of top spin, I really enjoyed this string. 1HBH slices were pretty sick too and knifing them down the line the ball stayed low with a lot of spin on the ball.
SO glad I gave this a go. Time to buy a reel

Volkl Cyclone string comes in a few different colors. In result, the color of Cyclone string gives it a different feel, especially between Black (stiffer/firmer feel) and Orange(softer feel) . My current favorite strings is Volkl Cyclone Orange - 18g, and I have been using this string since 2017. Volkl cyclone cost and soft feel makes the string a winner for me. Majority of polyester strings should not be played with for extensive amount of time, since Poly's tend to die and in result become stiff and brittle, the end result will be arm, wrist, and/or shoulder problems. With this said, Volkl is a great choice. Excellent videos by Tennis Spin!

    My setup:
    Wilson RF97A
Natural Gut mains / AluRough crosses
    Or
natural gut mains / RPM blast crosses
Found out that for me AluRough plays best and only one downside is that these setups are quite expensive..

You should give it a try for Signum pro-Xtreme power, outbreak, 124mm.

Harry, I'm currently enjoying my full bed of BW17 at 46lbs on my VCore 89. Any advice on what to hybrid Black Widow with? I'm thinking of trying it with wilson sensation 17. What's a good setup for tension that you would recommend from main BW and cross as sensation?

You seem to like strings with sharp edges; my favorite poly of all time is the LXL ALU Power 16L whenever I can afford them.

What makes the Gamma Ocho and Dunlop Black Widow especially difficult to string?

Can anyone please help? I bought a used strung racket off eBay and I loved the hybrid string it came with. Only problem is I cannot figure out what cross string was used. Main string is a generic poly. There were no markings on the cross string and I could tell it was recently strung.
The string in question is wrapped in a red protective layer with like a silver swirl of ribbons running along it .
As the string wears out it frays only the red outside liner and underneath is a clear string that appears to be poly. The fraying is not like what a multi does, rather it’s just the red protective layer that frays.
Does anyone have any idea what this string is?! The eBay seller doesn’t know either,
Strings I’ve bought so far that I thought they were but turns out it is not..
    -technifibre x one biphase red
    - Wilson sythnetic gut power red
    -Dunlop S-Gut red
    - Gosen tecgut remplir
Please help me find out what string this is

Lux 4G, Babolat RPM Blast, Luxilon VIBE, Head Sonic Pro Edge, Ashaway Zyex Monogut with honorable mention: Head Hawk Touch, Genesis Trisonic, Luxilon Element, luxilon Alu power. I really like all of them. But, price is a factor in purchaces.

Luxilon 4g rough 16l - 4g is so good as a hybrid with gut in the mains - holds tension really well is slippery, plays well at lower tensions and the muted feel compliments gut perfectly. Also, it just lasts FOREVER especially as a x-string w/gut. Regular 4g is great too but 4g rough is just a little tighter feeling. 4g soft is too lively and loses tension faster. 16l being just a little smaller than 16 makes sense for a x string (at least in my mind it does)
