Nice dan
That is very good fertilizer
Good onya and keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Good work and great video!
Thank you very much!
Just a suggestion from a retired Fire Chief, it would be wise to brush back your tree branches to about three (3) feet from your chimney stack. Other than that, well done young man! 🚒👍😎
Will do thanks for the tip!
@@danvanstralenyou are welcome, take care. 👍😎
Stove pipe looks great. Your all set up perfect !!!
I still swear you are a Virgo Dan ;-) The place looks great and I appreciate your attention to the details! Enjoy those sunsets and give Lando a hug from me 💜
Great job Dan! Amazing shot of you fishing with the sunset as a backdrop. Beautiful. Looking forward to all the projects at your cabin. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
Your cabin is coming along nicely. You take pride in your work. Nothing better than some fishing to end a productive day. Look forward to your next video.
You got that right! I’ll see you next time!
I can live with all my lufe this kind of island so peaceful ❤❤❤
Excelent 👍👍👍👍
Dan, mix baking soda with cooking oil to make a paste to remove the sticker residue. Let sit a few minutes and it should come off easily.
Great tip! Thanks!
Hi Dan I love following your adventures and that of your family. Maybe you already know this but if not I am sure this will interest you. Johnathin from Lost Lakes lives up your way and is a bad ass when it comes to out door adventures. Your brother Pete will probably find the photograph in Johnathin’s video amazing. I hope you check this guy out. Keep the videos coming.
Love your place. Helpful hint. Try a leaf blower on the roof.
Great idea! Will do!
Your cabin is coming along nicely... very cozy!!
Thank you!
Thanks from Minnesota Dan.
My pleasure!
Adding a damper would sure allow you to better control the fire/heat and burn less wood too.
Dan, please consider putting some kind of coating over the can that you have between the two log chairs. That way you will have it for many years to come. It’s a cool looking can/table and I would hate to see it rust away.
Will do! I’ll look into what kind of coating I would need. 👍🏻
thank you for sharing love watching
I’m glad you enjoy it! Thanks!
Doesn’t get any better than that! ❤
I agree!
Love your videos, so relaxing and love your dog. Keep up the good videos
Thank you! Will do!
Hello im back i got bussy.
Just curious Dan. Wouldn't it be easier & safer to cut back some of those pines so those needles won't give you that mess (hopefully) on your roof? Also, less chance of a spark from your chimney setting the needles on fire? Just a thought, as we had an issue similar to that and just cut back a few trees. Take care you and your family. Down here in OH sure enjoy your channels. Hope your parents get back on again soon.
and you get Landos floating around with pine needles lol
That birch tree is amazing with its curling bark. Nice job on the roof. What we we do without our blowers? Smart idea for the needles. Woe it’s blowing. I love those log chairs. Your cabin is getting better and better.
A straw broom completes cleaning off a steel roof; gets the rotten bits off.
Great tip thanks!
you should build yourself a dolly with wheels to move the chairs and other heavy stuff around
WD-40 works good on the stickers. Everything looks good. Later.
Thanks for the tip I’ll try that out!
Hey I never knew about that kind of stove pipe that has a trap. Gravity at work. I can also imagine the great smells from the burning wood.
The smell of a wood stove is always amazing especially when burning cedar wood.
@@danvanstralen I live in a small rental house on a farm outside a small rural town. I take runs and when wind blows just right I can smell wood stove fires. I love that smell.
Stove and cabin look great. When are you going to use your workshop ....it looks like a great place to build something. And i bet you are good at working with wood. See you next time!
Dan, how far are you from the main cabin?
It’s a few hundred feet away along the shore but they are separated by a thick forested area.
I’m enjoying your channel 👍 I curious what brand are your work pants? They look heavy duty in all the high wear areas.
They are timberland work pants, I also wear helly Hansen work pants but I’m not sure if they make the same model anymore.
when fishing try ether a dare devil spoon red colour or a Rapela or a meps
I’ll try those out thanks!
You need to invest in a dolly to move them log chairs,be. Safer
I love the serenity at the end - a young man and his dog fishing in the sunset. It reminded me of watching the sunsets on the Huron bay at my family's cottage.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it! A cottage on Huron must be beautiful!
Great work. You are going to have a great life because you are such a hard worker!!!!
Thank you so much!
I was amazed at the amount of pine needles that could collect on a roof. Wow!
It collects fast! I had to fill that blue bucket 6 times.
It is so great to see a young man living his dream 👍
You know what would be cool, that area where you put the round ring decorative piece for fireplace chimney...there is a nice little cut out area where you could glue on little stones you gather near your property and water area. Just a thought. No biggie. Love those trunk tree seats too. Cabin is coming along nicely. Blessings!👍
Dan, a still of you fishing at sunset would make a great opening title page or logo
You are a very patient and task-oriented guy. A great inspiration!!
28:30 hey Dan, this beautifull shot of u and Lando fishing is the perfect for a channel intro for each video with the channel name slowly appearing in nice lettering. ❤
Thank you!
Lac Suel?
Labor of love that’s for sure!
Some people use a moss roof for installation
you should also look at the wooden pieces (thats visible) holding the cabin up...they might need to be replaced or placed on concrete slabs.
Will do! 👍🏻
Do you & family think you may have to shift back some cabins in future, because of climate change?
Luckily our lake has a small Dam that can be used to regulate the lakes waters, if it ever gets to high then a log is removed to lower the water levels.
It's the same weather here in Ontario
Winds will be going up with gust of 74😮 today is April 21st
It is no secret - provided by their own comments and different clues, that their island is in Northern Ontario, not very far from Sudbury actually :-)
You’re really working hard to make your cabin and the outside look great and it does your hard work is paying off!!!!
Yes! Thank you!
You have a wonderful place ! ❤😊 see you nest time!👋
Thanks! See you next time!
I really enjoy watching you enjoy working on your little cabin! I would give anything to have even a portion of the land and small lake that yall have! I would love to be able to have my own little space, surrounded by trees, a good place to fish year-round, to eat and swim in the summer. What a paradise you have there!
💖❣️♥️😇💙💝❤️🤍💜
Dam, there is a dam, show us. It would be so cool if you were able to be at the dam when they took a log out!
I will try! But I will definitely show the dam next time!
Dan, please check your siding after drilling those holes in the chairs on the deck! 🪑 It looked to me that you may have put some holes in it, and might have to caulk them up.
Hand sanitizer sometimes works for stickers.
I’ll try that out thanks!
