I want to give a big shout-out to all the volunteers who have kept this cabin (and other NS cabins) alive with all their hard work and dedication over the years. If it wasn't for them, these places would have rotted into the ground years ago. Thank you!!! 🙏

If it’s empty, you’re in luck; if it’s occupied, you may still be in luck as travelers through the Tobeatic are often more than willing to share." I know that in the past episodes of some of the cabins that Noah has gone too, he has had to book and reserve them well in advance of his trips.
Me too. I can only go where my walker can take me & for short distances. We are blessed to go with him vicariously! My dad was such an outdoorsman, and I loved that way of life. Every time I see a river or lake I want to wet a line. I miss fresh rainbow trout for breakfast. 😋
This brings me back to my youth when I travelled through Nova Scotia with only a backpack and sleeping bag and small tent. I am 66 now and this reminds me of my adventures there. Beautiful country.
I really want people to realize that when your young you can do so many wonderful things. I am a a senior taking care of my special needs adult son with epilepsy. Please enjoy your life and have these adventures while your young instead of worring about silly city things,
Well welcome to Nova Scotia, plenty of those cabins around our parts. Always left some food behind for the next visitor in case they had nothing... its part of the NS way, and always sign the log books.
We were at the cabin on Oct 1st. Wild to see there were seemingly 3 other log entries after ours. I took a picture of the Northern Scavenger sticker on the wall. Also very enjoyable to see those portages again while they are still fresh in my memory. Thanks for the video!
Wow, now THAT is a small world J Gallant. I guess because I'm in Halifax, Nova Scotia, RUclips sends me video's from my area, but it's nice to see ones like this, the last few I got from RUclips is people turning on their dashcams, driving from Halifax to Yarmouth nonstop with no talking ... like watching grass grow.
Another awesome trip friend ! Wish I was a little younger & not so many aces & pains But I still love to watch so many of you in many different places, Just the sound of the paddle going through the water , so piece full being away from city noise, I love everything outdoors as much as possible as long as it's not like the last week of - 35 to -51c that we just about done with,
We're lucky to live in such a beautiful Province. It never ceases to amaze me. I hope to make it to this cabin someday! Been on my list for a while now. Great video.
It's the simple principle of what we sow is what we reap. Leaving wood and a clean cabin reap that the next time you arrive there. Absolutely stunning scenery.
You came up in my feed yesterday for the first time. I've watched 3 trips to cabins in Autumn. OMG what beautiful scenery, the lakes, rivers, streams, woodlands and cabins. I felt like I was in heaven. Thank you so much for taking me on these wonderful joirneys with you. I have tears in my eyes. I'm 72 years old now and not able to have adventures anymore. But I have slept in leantos and canoed and climbed mountains in the Adirondacks a few times. So wish i was still able to do so. Best vacations EVER!!❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Thanks for sharing - Great trip! I love these Canadian remote woods - incredible streams, rivers, and lakes. And maintained trails and cabins! Kudos to Canadian neighborly decency on display!

Hi from mike A from LA.CA. I really enjoyed this video. I haven t watched your channel in a while. I like your voice and narration. Its perfect. Not to high pitched and not low and boring. The scenery and vegetation that you shoot is great. Thanks so much.
That is definitely some beautiful country to canoe and portage through.I was just wandering why you didn't do any fishing those lake certainly look like they are teaming wirh fish. Nice video.
Not only, that you're a great narrator,...but, your experience crisscrossing Canada shows, when all the camera angles you have in your footage... Good stuff to watch,... Very relaxing ! Enjoyed it...👍
Noah! I've recently just discovered your channel in the last few weeks and I am thoroughly enjoying seeing the East coast through your eyes, and your lens. I have an obsession with the East Coast thanks to the many stories I've read by former Cape Breton Island resident, the late Farley Mowat... Although, I've never had a chance to visit the East coast yet! Your adventures out that way sure are inspiring for me. Thank you for gracing all of us in the RUclips world with your presence, your adventures, and the beautiful content your making... I can't even imagine the work that goes into all of it!
Thanks for taking us along on your wonderful 4 day excursion. It was beautiful & rugged. The cabin was well cared for (respectful visitors). I live vicariously with videos like this because I'm way to old to go out physically. Still love to see the woods and critters & especially the little birds. God bless.....😊❤ P.S. YOUR VIDEO WAS A REAL TREAT!
Enjoyed this video very much. I live in SW Nova and many folks are unaware of the number of lakes and the remoteness of the province. Thanks again for a great video.
Awesome video, seeing the Black Bear was a bonus, bigger bonus was he wasn’t too interested in you! Subscribed ( recommended by Brenda…lives next door) Cheers from CB. MikeR.
Hey! Thanks for the video! And thank you for reading our log entry! ‘Honeymoon trip’ was us! It was such an amazing trip. We love reading the logs at any cabin we get too. Sadly we haven’t been back since, but hoping for this year in the fall. Cheers!
Such a beautiful landscape caught by your drone. I love the red punctuation of your canoe in some of the shots. And the still mornings and that wonderful campsite and remote cabin with your added ethic of leaving the place better than you found it - all just the most wonderful to watch and experience thru you. Thank you, Noah. I love your adventures and travels so much - both solo and in a group.

Great video. Brings back lots of memories - been a few years since I’ve been in there. Thanks to the amazing volunteers who have helped keep the cabin in such great shape, including the big renovation a few years back.
Now that is a trip that uses up quite a bit of energy. I love the fact that you were the only one within miles; peace and quiet, even the bear wasn't making any noise or bothering you. Nice video. Enjoyed it very much. Thanks.
The sounds of the compressed gas stove in the morning...pressing the air out of the Thermarest pad and stuffing the sleeping bag back into its bag...memories of snow-camping in the Sierra Madre range.
Just a simple suggestion for you. When you're trying to split wood and it won't stay up right. Take a stick in your off hand and use that to hold the wood upright and stable. This will allow you to hit the wood with your axe hard enough to set the axe, but not endanger yourself. Commonly referred to as a "Sissy Stick", but I like to think of it as a "Safety Stick". Great video so far. Now if you will excuse me, I have to get back to it so I can finish watching.
Also, there may have been a reason but splitting on a rock isn’t great because if you miss or just go through the wood you hit the rock and dull the blade. Much better to just do on the ground no?
We have huge tracts of Crown Land in Northern Ontario, some leased out by folks who hunt or fish in season. There you will find very rustic cabins that are used as shelters much like in Nova Scotia i.e.never locked, equipped with wooden bunk beds, a stove, table and a few cupboards and travelers are free to make use of them temporarily when trekking/canoeing. On a canoe trip with some mates, we portaged along a pathway between rivers and used one such shelter to eat our midday meal out of the rain. This one had a cupboard with a door that had not quite been closed. Leading from the cupboard was a trail of white powder that ran across the floor. Scattered through the trail from the cupboard we discovered a half dozen or so wee dead mice laying on their backs with what looked like puffy white mushrooms protruding from their stomachs. Turns out the last hunting party had left a box of instant just-add-water mashed potato mix and one corner of the box chewed away. The poor little mice looked kind of like hors d'oeurves that had fallen off of a platter. It was a bizarre sight!
This was my first NS video and I truly enjoyed watching it. Never been to Nova Scotia but your trip reminded me of some canoe camping trips in BWCA and QPP when I was half as old as I am now. Do you think a reasonably healthy and fit 58 yr old male with virtually the same gear as you be able to successfully embark and succeed at this venture?
