Noah, your videos are great. As a fisherman... please hold your breath all the time you have a fish out of the water because that is what the fish has to do while you are messing around. Please just release the fish as quickly as possible if you plan to release it.

Great video, Noah! The rivers were teaming with Gaspereaux this spring. Funny story... when I was working in Yarmouth one spring, all of the folks from Tusket were talking about going kayaking every evening. After a few conversations, I realised they were fishing for Kiack, another name for Gasperaux. Unfortunately, I didn't make more paddling friends! 😂

Another beautiful video, Noah; thank you. In my tripping days, I always traveled light, but can recommend a reflector oven. I’ve baked grayling, specs, and lake trout all without carbonizing the fish. It’s also great for bannock, date bars, and other breadstuffs. Also, if your Ontario-Manitoba trip brings you close to Rainy Lake, give a shout. I’ll heat the sauna!

Your enthusiasm for catching brookies is infectious! Almost makes me want to start fishing. Almost. Down here in the States we've ruined too much of our anadromous fish runs for alewives and river herring, but there are a lot of projects going on to try to improve fish passages around our dams...including by taking some dams down. It's so great to see a healthy fishery! Thanks for some awesome footage.

Merlin is a GREAT app. This spring I turned it on out back of our house near Pittsburgh and in a couple of minutes it identified about a dozen birds. Many of them I’d never heard of before and several were listed as rare. Clearly I had caught migrators taking a brief pause on their way north. Another great one Noah and can’t wait to hear about your upcoming adventure when Rachel

Gaspereaux are also know as Alewifes are good eating. Boney but high in omega 3's. They were very popular in the Maritimes a while back. Smoke them and enjoy.

Noah and others. I live in the Caribbean. Did live in Nova Scotia and London , Ont. for a few years and loved it. These adventures make me homesick and I am along with you all virtually as is everyone watching. I just binged on the Labrador trip with Alex, Chris and Dave when you got really ill. I recommend taking along a bottle of Angostura bitters. It’s small. But add a teaspoon to some water will sort you out in a day. I totally recommend it. Try it at home first if you like. Now, I want to ask , Are you all employed by Northern Scavenger or do they sponsor you or is it your business? Very curious. You MUST have sponsors for those long trips surely.

I had a recent three day trip lots of flat water and lakes mixed with quick water that was too low, the alewives were still running and at one dam with a fish way they were abundant and the place had a very dead fishy smell from them. Eagles galore, good to see them enjoying the fish. This system was mostly small mouth bass any trout had taken up residence else were You are blessed to have some nice brook trout water. As I often mention a pole helps greatly picking through the bones, worth learning the skill.
