This blokes ability to stay original and push the boundaries of sleeping in weird places is second to none. What will he ever think of next? We're forever kept on our toes.
Steve, I too lost my wife very suddenly a few months ago and I have been in a dark place. My kids and grandkids helped tremendously as do friends but what also helps is some great RUclips content and you are one that I watch along with converting vans into campers which I am currently doing. I don’t drink a lot but I have had a whisky with you watching this one, keep up the good work. My favourite ? The plastic wrapped scaffolding with your late truly great neighbour friend, so absent friends !
This pipe for me, is the scariest of all places you have camped at. Loved your scaring the critters out of the pipe tactic. I kept wondering about such things. "Hopefully no one thinks someone is stuck in the pipe and trying to get out." hehe However those strange noises---No thank you. Glad you got out intact. We love you.

Steve, You’re a great example of how to keep moving forward and still finding joy. This past year I had to perform CPR on my husband but there was no bringing him back. Life is for living
in those cases, all the medical equipment in the world wouldn't have saved him. i had the same issue with my grandma was i was 12. just know, there was nothing we could do.
yeah trapped in pipe... slide to who knows what on one side + can bears get through that hole? Will he use the only exit to make a fire?? We shall find out. Time for a step 2.
Yeah. I don't think of myself as claustrophobic - I've handled many similar things. But there are certain types of tight spaces, like this, that I would have to take a pass on.
Plus I hope it’s not asbestos cement pipe… but the location & timeline of when he said the pipeline was made would line up with when those were used. Hopefully it’s not flaking off.
Thanks for giving us the history of the pipe and slightly easing our worries. For those that want to repeat this, don't. Pipes are confined spaces and even for abandoned ones, air quality is a concern (read as "your ability to breathe oxygen and not die"). Not to mention unintentional water flows. Steve, glad you got back safe. In the future I recommend a mixed gas detector for stuff like this. Ensure at least O2 and H2S.
Imagine hiking through the woods and coming across this box with an open umbrella on top of it, pulling it up and finding this gentleman just snoozing away inside.
I bet when those guys built that pipeline they never, ever imagined someone would sleep in it 100 years in the future and thousands of people would watch him on their phones. What a bazaar world we live in. Thanks Steve.

Think me and basically everyone in the comments, is glad to see Steve back. Glad to see you still moving forward. It's always good to get back into the woods. The isolation and the nature, personally, helps me regulate myself. Life is hard most of the time. It's a great way to unwind and recenter yourself. Keep up the positivity Steve. Live for today, prepare for tomorrow. ❤✌️
This video upload has really helped me tonight, as I just lost my best buddy in the world, my cat Lynx, and your videos Steve were always amongst ones I would throw on and cuddle with him while watching. I miss him, but it’s a comfort. Thank you for that and all you do, and hope you are well.❤
Oh I’m so sorry, I’ve been through it many times and it’s so sad, you miss them so much. I hope it won’t be long before you can remember him with joy and make room in your heart for kitty who needs a home.
Every time you upload it makes me happy you're still doing what you love even though you lost the person you love the most. Having a beer tonight in her memory. Peace and love.
Bro you camped in the sooke pipeline, ive heared some scary a** noises coming from that thing hiking along it for the last 30 years, weird things like rushes of cold and hot air coming from the manholes, props on your bravery
Yeah, as somebody who loves caves and small nooks this pipe gave me bad vibes. It's old, who knows if anyone passed while building it. It's in the middle of nowhere in Bigfoot country
So happy to see you back!!! Thank you for not quitting!! You are looking a bit fragile and it looks like you lost some weight. But I'm happy that your back!! Big hug for you 🤗 we've missed you.
Beautiful scenery!!! You're very brave, obviously the case after seeing all your other videos but this one especially, the idea of that pipe stretching, enclosed, in both directions open to you while you're there just really spooks me out. But WOW that forest is gorgeous!
As a scout in my young teens and even an adult in my early twenties I never noticed noises at night when camping. As a dad in my late 40’s who occasionally backpacks and scout camps with my kids I hear every noise at night. I hardly sleep, especially the first night. Sleeping in a pipe with the noises and temperatures and air you said would have been a loooong night indeed. Thanks Steve for doing that little adventure so I don’t have to.
My claustrophobia is off the charts in this video. There is no way, I could do this one. My hat is off to you Steve. Another legendary stealth camp. Beautiful area and nicely done.
Thank you Steve for your videos. You are a great inspiration. I always love watching your videos and learning from what you have to say. These past couple years have been painful and rough, yet you still push on. Thank you, truly.
Thank you Steve, I love your videos and seeing what you’ve been through, I often think to myself ‘ if Steve’s still doing it I can do it to’, you are inspirational thank you
Steve, I have been enjoying your stealth camping videos for quite some time. I've never commented, but I just wanted to say thank you. I'm hoping this puts a smile on your face. The community you've built appreciates you.
CONGRATS!!!! I SEE YOU ARE GOING TO BE ON THE NEWS TONIGHT FOR ALL THE VIEWS.AND I BET YOUR LOVELY WIFE IS LOOKING DOWN, SO PROUD AS SHE IS THE ONE THAT ENCOURAGED YOU TO RUclips CAMP VIDEOS, RIGHT? SOOOO AWESOME!!!!❤
I enjoyed the lack of cuts, you putting your gear away and just chatting with us. Its very human and very refreshing. Also 40s isnt old your plenty young.
He's probably more than halfway done unless science comes up with some crazy shit. Let's say he lives into his 90s though. People that old are practically zombies alot of the time. Not always. But are people like that living a worthwhile existence? Sorry to be morbid or depressing Been thinking about death and all the other horrific things about our existence.
This video was just what I needed today. One of my dogs is very sick and was in the doggie ICU last night and I've been a nervous wreck. Seeing Steve pop up in my feed made my day.
🇬🇧 Steve, of all the venues you have tried, this was surely the wierdest. And scariest - bravo! It has made me shiver with the dreaded thought of it.😮 But looking forward very much to the more to come👍❤️
I feel like at this point Steve should have run out of ideas for places to camp, but every single episode he's got some genius, and extremely entertaining, new camp spot he's conjured up. Love the videos, man. You're looking really good these days too.
Thank you for your kind messages. I definitely will, as that's where he'll live on. While I feel sad, I don't feel shattered, cos it feels like one day I will see him again.
"Hi everybody, welcome to claustrophobia with Steve!" - I've watched your Documentary a couple times now and am looking forward to the RV making a comeback. Is it going to have a name? Good Luck out there!
@@aananimity I would of ended up sleeping on ground next to the pipe instead. I dont think it would be something to look forward too waking up in a pipe.
Hi Steve, it’s so good to have you back on our screens, I’ve missed you and your stealth camping trips. That sure is a beautiful place to camp. I love the trees and the peacefulness of somewhere like that. Thank you Steve, stay safe ❤️❤️👍🤟🏼✌️
Steve, life has brought you through the wringer. I could tell in your recent videos how it's really hit you hard. I am so proud that you keep on keeping on. This video, i feel like you are a LOT more chipper! Glad you're doing ok, feeling healthy and loving life again :)
Steve, thank you for these. My husband and I have been watching your videos for over 6 years and its very special to us what you do. You inspire us in everything you do, and for sharing it with us.
Wow, Steve!! All these years, I've watched you camp in some very sketchy places and somehow make it look enjoyable. This one, though, has to be the the most gnarly for sure!!! 😮😮😮 Im really looking forward to seeing your upcoming camper van videos. You have tortured yourself, sleeping outside, and i think we all want to see you in a bit of luxury. You deserve it!!! You're an amazing guy, and I can't wait to see more! Stay safe, brother. 🙏 🙏🙏
The darkness on both directions inside the pipe, it's too creepy. And he heard sounds during the night! Imagine a creature like Golum coming at you the night during your sleep.
Actually a few little critters might be down there in the pipe, like small, bats or a possum, depending on how good they could come and go out of the top. They just want to be warm. 😄
"Hey guys! Abandoned pipe here....should make fine shelter for the night." You have the curiosity and adventurousness of a young person. Keep up the great work, Steve! Thank you.
Our family used to hike that pipe in the early 70s, just for fun. Lived on the island majority of my 55yrs and the beauty of the forest here never gets old 💖
Steve, you bring so much joy and memories! I too camped on Vancouver Island with my Dad’s cousin’s kids. We arrived only to find the tent forgotten so stretched a ground sheet between two car windows. They told some scary stories around the camp fire about bears. Being a young Scots gal on holiday I was pretty nervous so imagine my terror when woken up with a large snout in my face in the wee small hours! Turned out the snout belonged to a German Shepherd who’d arrived late to the party with its owners … good times!
Man, if i was hiking through the woods it would be so dope if there was just a kind abandoned pipe merchant that popped out to sell me potions. Lord knows I'd need em.
Hello Steve! I saw part of this video on CHEK 6 News today. I thought sleeping in an abandoned pipe was cool! I am glad to see another recent video from you. I hope that bat didn't bother you. I thought your cooked meal sounded great! Thanks for sharing your adventure! ~Janet in Canada
Steve! You don't need to camp in dramatic, uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous places that are likely not great for your health. We love you and would watch you camp anywhere!
@memorysometimers3067 First thing on my mind - enclosed space. Wouldn't have even stuck my head in without an O2 monitor going in first. I know he didn't like the constant breeze but at least the air wasn't bad.
I remember getting your recommendations like a year or two ago. I watched a couple of your videos and found them super cozy and comforting. I ended up seeing several of them but never subscribed. The other day, while driving in the morning, out of the blue, I remembered your videos and thought, “Damn, it’s been a while since I’ve seen that guy who camps in random places,” but I couldn’t remember your name or anything. Tonight, I got your recommendation for this video, and I thought, “Oh, here he is!” The video was great, and this time I definitely subscribed, Steve. I always seem to watch your videos between 2 and 5 a.m., and it’s amazing.
Buddy next time please bring a gas monitor with you. Decaying debris in that can even cause oxygen depletion. As a wastewater guy I’ve been through training for people who dropped into an abandoned or what seemed like safe space and died because of h2s or low 02.
And build-up of carbon dioxide in the pipe. Luckily there was a breeze inside, it might have made it hard to sleep but it was good to blow fresh air in.
Seems like there could also be a danger of flooding since it seems there are debris is all down the pipe even though there is no water presently going down the pipe.
Stay out of pipes. He got lucky this time. He might get lucky 100 times. But death only has to get lucky once. The poison gasses that build up in those structures will knock you unconscious or dead in 1 breath.
Sooooo happy to see you back at it Steve!!! Beautiful locale!! Can't help but notice the benevolent grinning mossed like creature set into the rock behind you at 11:03...Looks like a plump woodland fairy watching over you!! 🤣🤣Wonderful episode!!! Just sorry it wasn't a comfy night's stay for you! Welcome back Steve!!! Cheers!!! 🍻🏕️❤
Steve you deserve to be happy bud. And wherever you go, whatever you do, if you are able to feel happy each day, that's what's important. Nothing else matters. We only have one life to live. Do it your way. I just purchased a brand new rv - tiny home on wheels, I'm in the middle of prepping it because I am so over the bitter cold of alberta. Plans are to travel until I reach a place where I feel most comfortable. But that could mean traveling endlessly, who knows! Prices for housing in this province are not getting any better, and having pets makes it next to impossible, etc. So I will be embarking in the next couple of weeks and heading up to beautiful British Columbia! God bless you ❤
I literally screamed, threw down my phone, stopped what I was doing and watched this video..I have been watching old videos as they give me comfort and I feel safe with them..thank you for checking in Steve..
You "literally" screamed did you? As opposed to just "screamed". Why did you throw your phone down if you wanted to watch the video? Makes zero sense, because you made it all up.

Much love Steve from the lower 48. Glad to see you back man. The community as a whole just wants you to be happy. ❤
I'm sorry for your loss. I understand how special Lynx was to you. ❤ 🐈⬛️
I lost my dog Jack on 1/3 and I still feel like an emotional wreck. 💔 🐕
Every time you upload it makes me happy you're still doing what you love even though you lost the person you love the most. Having a beer tonight in her memory. Peace and love.
“A pipe is good enough so a motor home is gonna be like a mansion.” I think this really unintentionally explains what makes your videos so wholesome
That and "My curiosity regarding the pipe has been satisfied." are the quotes of this episode!
@@CSNCSNCSN @piercedun4846 Couldn't agree more with both of you 😄
Weird that someone has copied your comment word for word. The Internet is a strange place.

Bro you camped in the sooke pipeline, ive heared some scary a** noises coming from that thing hiking along it for the last 30 years, weird things like rushes of cold and hot air coming from the manholes, props on your bravery
Them noises you heard... that was Steve.
@@jimmypickle6343bahahahaha 😂
Yeah, as somebody who loves caves and small nooks this pipe gave me bad vibes. It's old, who knows if anyone passed while building it. It's in the middle of nowhere in Bigfoot country
Dude has got some brass to sleep in that pipe that way. Umbrella or not, something very likely calls that pipe its home and he's sleeping in the door.
Wow, interesting. I looked this up. Crazy that they used it for so long before replacing it.
You believe he actually spent the night there and not in his car? Returning to film clips once or twice throughout the night…
@@datbeastfullol we found the cynic
@ I’ve done similar, with kids, per above, so yeah it is totally plausible to me.
@@datbeastfulthat would actually be more effort
My claustrophobia is off the charts in this video. There is no way, I could do this one. My hat is off to you Steve. Another legendary stealth camp. Beautiful area and nicely done.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Same😬
Do not, under any circumstances, watch videos about cave diving. Also, do not do any cave diving. That is just stupid.
Thank you Steve for your videos. You are a great inspiration. I always love watching your videos and learning from what you have to say. These past couple years have been painful and rough, yet you still push on. Thank you, truly.
Your welcome. Thanks for following along on my adventures. Cheers to a great 2025.
Thanks for the support, it means a lot!
Nothing better then relaxing in your recliner and seeing a new Steve video.. you were missed friend❤

I enjoyed the lack of cuts, you putting your gear away and just chatting with us. Its very human and very refreshing. Also 40s isnt old your plenty young.
I agree. I am 72 and do this kind of shit all the time.
He's probably more than halfway done unless science comes up with some crazy shit.
Let's say he lives into his 90s though. People that old are practically zombies alot of the time. Not always. But are people like that living a worthwhile existence?
Sorry to be morbid or depressing
Been thinking about death and all the other horrific things about our existence.
This video was just what I needed today. One of my dogs is very sick and was in the doggie ICU last night and I've been a nervous wreck. Seeing Steve pop up in my feed made my day.
I hope your doggo is feeling better!
Prayers for you and your babies
Sending peace and blessings to you and your dog
Hope everything turns out fine ❤ I had to rush my rescue pup to the vet too in the beginning of december as well :(
Hope your fur baby is better soon❤

🇬🇧 Steve, of all the venues you have tried, this was surely the wierdest. And scariest - bravo! It has made me shiver with the dreaded thought of it.😮
But looking forward very much to the more to come👍❤️
I feel like at this point Steve should have run out of ideas for places to camp, but every single episode he's got some genius, and extremely entertaining, new camp spot he's conjured up.
Love the videos, man. You're looking really good these days too.
Thanks man! I’m always on the lookout for unique spots.

I really don’t care where Steve camps .. or in what . I’ll always watch 😊

Steve has lost weight too, like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. I wish him well. ❤
If the world had a lot more ‘Steve Wallis’ it would be a much better place.
The darkness on both directions inside the pipe, it's too creepy. And he heard sounds during the night! Imagine a creature like Golum coming at you the night during your sleep.
Actually a few little critters might be down there in the pipe,
like small, bats or a possum, depending on how good they could come and go out of the top. They just want to be warm. 😄
SUCH GOOD CAMPINGSES ...
Imagine a snake slithering along the outside only to drop in the hole on top you while you're sleeping. Yikes!
Good thing he lives in reality and only real things could come at him
I was imagining a Xenomorph 😱
You are a braver man than I, that pipe gives me the chills, especially the section dissapearing down the hill.
Yeah it just needs two red eyes glowing in the dark, staring at him. Shudder.
This pipe looks like some place you'd find a skinwalker 😆
Man, if i was hiking through the woods it would be so dope if there was just a kind abandoned pipe merchant that popped out to sell me potions. Lord knows I'd need em.
Lol this guy's like an npc in fallout. I've always been curious to know if he's had any spooky experiences.

Steve is the only RUclipsr that has me yelling "YEAAAAHH" when he releases a new video. Always a happy moment, thank Steve!
Steve! You don't need to camp in dramatic, uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous places that are likely not great for your health. We love you and would watch you camp anywhere!
I was thinking the air in there might not be good but he’s sheltered well
You say this and it’s probably true for most regular viewers, but the YT algorithm is a merciless beast that loves drama.
@memorysometimers3067 First thing on my mind - enclosed space. Wouldn't have even stuck my head in without an O2 monitor going in first. I know he didn't like the constant breeze but at least the air wasn't bad.
Its Steve Wallis 🤣 he lives for this kind of stuff
@@johnhoog8279 yes exactly. There’s also many openings where the connections dislodged so there’s bits of air from them too.
I appreciate the kind words and the subscription! More fun on the way, cheers :)
@@anotheruser9876especially after eating broccoli 😂
Seems like there could also be a danger of flooding since it seems there are debris is all down the pipe even though there is no water presently going down the pipe.
@@Steven_Edwardshe said there was debris only by the hole, which makes sense
Stay out of pipes. He got lucky this time. He might get lucky 100 times. But death only has to get lucky once. The poison gasses that build up in those structures will knock you unconscious or dead in 1 breath.
