A solo 3-day canoe trip in November to reach a cozy wilderness cabin How to Support - www.buymeacoff... Instagram - / northernscavenger #Northernscavenger
So much fun! Thanks for taking us along. I lost my canoeing partner 7 years ago, but remember the thrill of it all, especially when the water would get choppy. I'll be 75 in 3 weeks.😃,
I'm so glad you are carrying on the channel. This one is a gem with sparse soundtrack so that we can really be absorbed by the sound of nature and canoeing. But in general, your soundtrack music is excellent. Compared to Canada Over the Edge and their space musak, Northern Scavenger stands way above. The constant educational tips on everything from building a fire to respecting the environment and creatures of all kinds, scenery, geology, cooking!!.....friendship, teamwork, all of it excellent. Being an old guy now with a deep pride for our language and culture, I have only one ask: please keep the language Canadian. No "mult-eye or sem-eye", as you guys are multi-taskers and probably like semi-sweet chocolate, you know, the way we were taught in school rather than colloquial street language. Very best wishes to Alex and I look forward to your next posting, and returning to Nova Scotia!
Love seeing videos of Nova Scotia. Lived here my entire life and have still yet to see all the beautiful places this province has to offer. Hoping to change that this summer🤞 Cheers, from Amherst, NS!
Have to say, one of your best videos ever - that first campsite was beautiful, as was the cabin. You're a surfer! I surfed in NS for a couple of years in the late 60's / early 70's. Lawrencetown was the go-to place I guess, but the best break was the point break at Grand Desert. We called it 'The Range', for obvious reasons. (Or maybe not?? The navy used to use the point for shelling practice, and at that time there were 'Keep Out - Unexploded Shells' signs posted on the road. We ignored the signs and walked along the shoreline to get to the point.) 6 foot glassy breaks were occasionally possible - the closest thing to California in NS. 🙂
Oh my god I lost it when you walked in the door wearing that blue wig and hat! Hahaha! And the voice lol! Funniest dang thing I've seen in a long time! Hope this isn't the last that we see of the backwoods banshee lol! Now I have to go listen to Silver Jet. Great video Noah! Looks like such a nice cabin to spend a few days at!
Paradise in the woods in an off grid cabin on a lake .. Cant get much better than this . Beautiful area !. The backwoods banshee LMAO. Thank's for the wee trip it was fun .
Ahhh Relaxing to watch and see different views from my chair here in front of my computer monitor , just what I needed after a busy few days cleaning and tidying my house/unit for a smoke alarm inspection to make the right impression and I was complimented for having a tidy house which I appreciated , not bad for a very single Sigma male apart from my two little companions Buddy and Tia. Yep good for the mind and soul Thanks again. Now , as for the rest of the week Hmmm There's plenty that comes to mind Cheers Mate👍👍👍😎🏴☠💨🏴☠🌈☮☮☕☕☕☕☯☯🌏
B I'm 50 and by 2010 I had never picked up a book voluntarily. Then I discovered New York the Novel by Edward Rutherford at the grocery store and it looked interesting. I was hooked in reading for five or more years and then I just stopped. Been meaning to pick it up again because I still have a pile of books I haven't read.
I tried making the gnocchi with instant potatoes I dug out of my camp box and they came out great, with a little red sauce on them...Been a solo outdoors guy for a long time, closing in on 66 years old and still get out, like seeing how other solo guys do stuff (I wish I could turn the clock back and do even more stuff like this)
Noah that cabin was so clean, I am sure that it’s because of the people like yourself clean up after yourself😊. I always look forward to seeing what your gonna cook. My all time favorite is the old meal and peanut butter mixed with Granola bars. I think that’s what you put in. But needless to say I would love to try it but it’s to loaded with calories for me. Anyways another adventure. It’s early but Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving🎉 Hope we see you sooner than soon. Thanks for sharing Cindy🇺🇸
Great video. The trip across to the cabin was beautiful. Amazing spot, great cabin, beautiful orange trees,. It felt like you had just got there when it was time to go back.
Just started watching your videos, we must say that you live in a beautiful country been to Canada a few times but not to Nova Scotia yet! Would love to visit one day - your log cabin vids are great and we are currently binge watching them all as well as the rest ATB from Wales 🏴 UK Mark & Simon 😁👍👌
That you carried that blue wig all the way in for this is epic 😄 Also a surfer for over 40 years now, though these days, due to cervical spine nerve issues and not being able to paddle prone, I'm relegated to a stand up board. Good stuff. Solo trips are awesome.
I love these videos, when I go to sweden with the boys we always try and plan canoe or hikes to cabins abd wind shelters infact most of our trips are planned around them, great video and let's hope the banshee stays friendly
Love This!!!!! Michele and I are both canoe campers - spending our time on lakes and rivers in southern Ontario. She also has a band of misfits who canoe and camp in Georgian bay- ever heard of the Voyager channels ? Keep up the great adventures! Best wishes from Perth Ontario Canada.
Thanks so much for a great little getaway!! I love the scenery and wildlife!! I appreciate you sharing your experience with us!! Stay safe and God bless ❤️
Thankyou for taking us along to that beautiful cabin, it was definitely worth the effort you in and well done making your own Gnocci. Ps. My daughters nickname is Banshee😅
What a gorgeous cabin and so well-maintained. You’re very lucky to be able to use it. I also have some MEC booties Which are like little sleeping bags on my feet. Nova Scotia looks lovely in November.
I’m glad this video popped up in my feed. I watched this video then went to your channel and watched more videos. I love exploring but don’t have a lot of time to do it. When I’m not able to explore, I can live vicariously through you! You have a great channel! ~Lynn in North Carolina U.S.
Silver Jet is such a great song. I miss Gord so much. I will watch every second of every video you put out. If you need logistics in western canada, hit me up.
I’ve always thought this but now after this video it solidifies my thought that you need to do an outing with Jon (Lost Lakes). You two are my favorite RUclipsrs!
🎶There's a still in the night, a tuneless moonlight. There's a heron outside, in violet light. 🎶There's an urge to go, a shadow, a heightened air of peril. 🎶And your heart jumps to...🎶And my heart jumps too...🎶 Missing you right now Gord.... were missing you.
“ If you ordered this at a restaurant and this is what you got, you’d think this is pretty f$&*ed” 😂😂 it actually looked amazing though with the pesto sauce. Beauty cabin, definitely not finding a gem like that in Ontario
This is a great video to get in to the weekend feeling relaxed. Appreciate it Noah! Love these cabin trips. Bringing a book is the perfect way to still your mind and really set your whole being to rest. We all could use that simple trick nowadays. Thank you for sharing as always, and have a great weekend.
Fun seeing the skiing I used to do at your age. Remember that Avalanche dangers early season is less dangerous than spring. More skiing videos will make me want to watch 😁
Very enjoyable and fun video! Thank you Weird thing about wild camping videos, I don't feel the person in the video made it back safe until they are in their vehicle.
I lost focus and missed the part about spooky feelings and Halloween being two days before this trip. So when the table went to shaking followed by a knock at the door, my stomach got tight. I thought someone was messing with you. Then the blue haired you walked in. I’m not even gonna ask who’s wig that is or where it came from. 😝 But really, I was like dang he got me. Then I had to go back and watch over what I originally missed. Good one 👍🏼.
OMG I've always enjoyed your videos...now you've added another twist! You sure are an entertainer at heart! LOL Have you ever considered organizing a group trip for your followers? Keeping in mind some of us are backwoods/outdoor lovers with very inaccurate sense of our capabilities. LOL

OMG! Loved the backwoods banshee! Hilarious... Great video
I loved ‘Barbarian Days’ ! So glad to hear you are reading more. I find reading a physical book relaxing and satisfying
Love the cabin videos! Glad the Backwoods Banshee let you off easy haha
🤣
Nova Scotia is gorgeous! reminds me of the pacific northwest
These cabin videos are such a cool niche! Especially when they’re hybrid camping/cabin videos. I really enjoy these videos!

Ouf, I got scared when it knocked at the door…glad it was you wearing a blue wig. Beautiful trip & cabin. Cheers.
That was the backwoods banshee. She always comes to her victims in a doppelgänger form.

Silver Jet is a great song!!
Love these solo camp outs. I will no longer be afraid of monsters, just the backwoods banshee!
Beautiful and LOVE the gnocchi and pesto yum 🙂 Reading by candle light was peaceful until the visitation, lol! Thanks Noah!!
Gnocchi with pine bark, YUM. Gotta get your fiber! A nice late season trip to watch while I'm home sick. Keep it up, love it!
When you are alone in a vast wilderness where no one else has hardly gone. That's when you get back to society and realize you need to love each other
Hahaha! Hilarious blue hair! Love your wonderful sense of humour! Such a lovely canoe trip and cabin! Thanks Noah. You are the best!👍
That ghost stuff is crazy, there's nothing like being freaked out in the deep woods.
Noah🎉🎉🎉Love Love Love it!!!! That knock at the Door almost made me well pee my paints!!!

Thanks, Noah. I needed a little dose of one of your adventures👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful hideaway cabin. The landscape and scenery are beautiful.
Nice! My son has stayed in that one. It is on my bucket list.

Another beautiful adventure, with a little extra drama.. Haha

Great tour :) The low water makes for all kinds of slow downs, Glad you had good weather to camp out 👍, Nice cabin for a little get away 😊,
What a nice cabin. Very Spartan yet userfriendly and clean. And very well kept in shape. Love it
For the gnocchi: use a fork
How about a spork? We carry light!!
Dude, awesome video. Much appreciated.
Gnocchi looked great! Love the use of the bark! Awesome little cabin adventure. 🔥
Great trip and thanx for letting us yeah along once again. Looking forward to your next adventure. Cheers

Sooooo excited. I LOVE THESE CABIN VIDEOS!!!!!!
Loved this. Here for Silver Jet. Highly recommend an e-reader like a Kindle for camping too! Waterproof, light weight and backlit. Cheers.
I've never been. But, from what I've watched. It's beautiful in fall and winter...

A wilderness cabin like that is called a Bothy in Scotland. They're dotted all over the Highlands. Thanks for the great video.

What a gorgeous cabin and so well-maintained. You’re very lucky to be able to use it. I also have some MEC booties Which are like little sleeping bags on my feet. Nova Scotia looks lovely in November.
the boots look great. i just use hand-knit wool socks.

The Tent Dwellers by Albert Bigelow Paine might also be a good read for the occasion.
“ If you ordered this at a restaurant and this is what you got, you’d think this is pretty f$&*ed” 😂😂 it actually looked amazing though with the pesto sauce. Beauty cabin, definitely not finding a gem like that in Ontario
re: Ontario - I thought the same thing, at least not for less than $200/night.
Looks like you had a grand time!
Such a bonus for Nova Scotia Paddlers! VRBO with firewood and a clean floor as the payment. Have a great winter. No Hurricanes please.
(21:30) … that took a _weird_ turn.
Wasn’t expecting that, … at all.
Great trip, thanks for taking us along!

Hi there. Really enjoy your channel. I’m from Eastern Passage. Keep up the great content.
Great vid
-Loved that first mossy camp spot.
-Very nice cabin
I know there was no key for the cabin, but this is unbelievable!
That cabin was great you should go back when the lakes freeze and we get alittle snow .
Like I needed an excuse to listen to all my favourite Hip songs but the Banshee demands a sacrifice!
I always love your videos. Not so sure about your future in scary movie production. 😂
Beautiful cabin and a great video. Enjoyable !
Thanks for making me chuckle 😄
I NEED to find this cabin! 😊
If you do, I'll go along with ya. It's on my list too.
Have you ever experienced unusual and strange whoops, growls or screams you couldn't fully identify? Great video and stunningly beautiful country!
this is amazing, I wish I could find stuff like this in Manitoba. Thanks for another cool vid
That is awesome! Thanks for bringing us along
Very enjoyable and fun video! Thank you
Weird thing about wild camping videos, I don't feel the person in the video made it back safe until they are in their vehicle.
There’s a shot of the cabin at around 19:00 looks like with the drone. Beautiful. Could put that on a post card. Thanks for the video.
this cabin is a work of art
I lost focus and missed the part about spooky feelings and Halloween being two days before this trip. So when the table went to shaking followed by a knock at the door, my stomach got tight.
