I think you probably mean American-made live-action is cursed. Rurouni Kenshin, Kaiji, and Japanese version of Death Note (all three has Tatsuya Fujiwara play as a role, maybe he is the reason) are very good live-action adaptation. If you have not yet had a chance to watch them, take a look , you won't regret.
I'll have to check those out, thank you for the suggestions. I have heard the RRK live action is quite good, and tbh that one makes a lot more sense to me because i think sword play is a lot easier to translate to live action then devil fruit powers would be. I also think the yuyu hakusho anime looks interesting, I will be hoping that one turns out good as well
I'm not a manga enjoyer and i never read the One Piece manga or watch the anime. I tried this show out of curiosity and it was a fairly good surprise. I'd give it a 7/10 as i'm an old fart, but it's probably more like a 9/10 for teenagers i imagine.
I'll be honest, I'm glad I totally missed the Cowboy Bebop adaptation because there was no chance they were going to reproduce the same feeling for me two decades later, even if it happened to be objectively good. One Piece's characters and concepts seemed fun to me but I never cared for the art style, and I don't think I'm alone in that opinion so maybe for a lot of us the live action could be worth a watch. Thanks for bringing it up because I had no idea this adaptation existed.
Sorry, the live action One piece is really good but for me other ones have already existed :) Rurouni Kenshin films, Alice in Borderland show, Blade of the immortal & Crying freeman for example.
The thing about all those shows you mentioned is that they're all a little bit more grounded in reality. So they're leagues more adaptable. I'd have thought Cowboy Bebop would be easily adaptable as well (it's basically a space opera), but look what we got. One Piece was one of those manga or anime that I would have thought would be all but impossible to adapt to live action, but they managed to surprise us.
@@syd.a.m Fair enough. As for Cowboy Bebop, I agree. It has the jazz but misses the beats. If it were up to me I would've worked very close with original creator & create original episodes inspired by different genres while still keeping the important ones intact. The cast mostly did great with what they where given to work with but I still would've prefer a bit more accuracy. Actors that not only resemble the part to a certain degree but can also act the part really well with some liberties like the live action adaptations of Rurouni Kenshin, Alice in Borderland & One piece. For each episode I also would've hired a different director depending on the genre.

Its crazy how people disagree with this opinion let alone hate it. But its nomral for things to be hated even things that are actually great
