Normal people: "you shouldn't kill yourself." Luffy: "if you want to kill yourself so badly then fine. But do it over here with your friends you idiot!"
Insane how it makes it so much more impactful to me too "You have so much to live for" you can argue against that, the other person is telling you a fact you are just supposed to accept "I will not stop you but I will love you all the way through and wont accept anything less" literally proves that she has something to live for, you can't argue against something lije that
I guess I can understand finding Saul’s laugh annoying, but here’s a fun fact for you: In Japanese, Luffy’s laugh sounds like “Shishishishi”, so back in Alabasta when Robin first heard him laugh, it likely reminded her of Saul and his words about finding friends out on the vast sea.
Never heard of that. Did she had a specific reaction to his laught back then in the chapter ? Anyway, I love this trivia so it's officially true and intentionnal in my book lol
@@gaetanw4099 Not that I know of (at least that I remember). I think it was Totally Not Mark who did an Analysis on Robin about how Oda draws good vs evil characters and you can tell Robin is good by way of how Oda drew her and that is evidence when Luffy is on screen, but nothing in terms of Luffy's direct laughter.
Watching you dive deeper and deeper into One Piece is like a father watching his son growing up. With Enies Lobby saga, you're in the "teenage" phase, an wait until you get in to "college" (Marine Ford), get a job (Dressrosa), have children (Yonko), retire and have granchildren (Final Saga)
Bro... I was eating dinner when you played Merry's voice; I literally dropped my fork and covered my face as I started to cry, that's how hard that still hits all these years later.
I understand not crying at Robin wanting to live but crying at Merry's funeral, I'm the same. I think it's becausw Robin's declaration is a moment of exhilaration, a high point as the darkness of her past finally begins to break... while Merry's is a goodbye, and Luffy even talks to her about how the bottom of the sea is dark.
if you dont cry over Merry, you are not human. we've all lost our favorite toy or inanimate object and cried for it. For me it was at 9 years old and a giant pink panther stuffed animal that got ruined in a flood. I cried harder for that damn stuffed animal than my whole house getting 5 foot of water in it.
Sanji's loss wasn't due to being horny 24/7, he is just sticking to his principles even in face of death. Something that will be made apparant why he does that later on. Its honestly a huge character flaw, but this is one thing I like about Oda...he gives everyone one or two flaws alongside their best traits...Luffy is simple minded foodie despite being wise at times, Zoro can be very lazy despite being the most dedicated member that keeps everyone in line and keeps captain in check, Nami is obsessed with money but without her ship really can't go anywhere due to her skills in navigation, chopper is naive as balls despite being a doctor, ussop is a liar and coward but he manages to make his lies into reality and cowardice into bravery, Sanji is lusty and chivalorous to a fault but he has both brains and brawns to make up for his faults. Its very much because of his flaws you can almost expect what might come out of his mouth. Strawhats are actually a bunch of Individuals doing their own thing, they aren't organized nor have some sort of philosophy...this is why when they fight sometimes its all messed up and they dont get into fight with right opponent which either they can defeat or match and then eventually shift to the different fight where they shine better. Like how Ussop was garbage match up with that wolf, also horrendous match up with Zoro because Zoro doesn't even try to play any tricks. Cunning wolf got slapped to oblivion by Sanji who is neither intimidated by him nor tricked by his naive lies but Sanji himself was a bad match up for Khalifa who is a woman and also plays it to her advantage as a superhuman soldier who was later matched by Nami who despite being weak made up for it by her intelligence and specialization. Another Example of such a character Like Sanji is Kenichi in HSDK, he refused to hit women and would only be defending himself against them or use non threatening grapple moves to the extent that it impresses people how much he is dedicated to his principles. It takes huge guts to stare death in face and stick by them. While Sanji could've broken them and defeated Khalifa, he is always chosing not to do so. This is both a flaw and strength of his character.
8:00 - actually, what really kept her going was her dream of discovering what happened during The Void Century 900 years ago. she felt she had ran into yet another Dead End at Alabasta, so at that point she was like "just let me die." but Luffy was like "i dont let people who helped me die, kill yourself later if you want, but you're coming too." then in Skypeia she was given hope about her dream, reading the Poneglyph written on the Bell by Gold Roger (Gol D. Roger) however by that time she had grown attached to how innocent and pure the Straw Hats are, so when a Buster Call was threatening to ruin her life again, she threw herself in front of it like Piccolo in Dragonball saccing himself for Gohan. i tie these parallels of course because Oda was inspired by Toriyama's works, especially THAT piece of work.
Love the video's always looking forward. Bro made me laugh multiple times 8:05 😂 I agree we won't get long anime anymore, I think we we're all good until "I'm sorry" 🐼💜
I also wouldn't cry in the I wanna live and Nami help me scenes if I had watched it dubbed. It's just not the same as the japanese voices, u can just feel the pain there.
You do have a good point about Fairy Tail. There are a ton of garbage fucking episodes in that show. So many fucking garbage episodes both canon and filler. But god damn did I cry when Laxus is crying when his grandfather is flashing him the signal that he'll always be watching over him.
the addendum at the end was pretty interesting as a manga reader. the manga is so well paced and there are (arguably) just a couple moments where something feels pointless or dragged out to the point where sometimes you want the crew to just chill on an island for bit like in some of the anime filler
yup, i blubbered like a baby over Merry's Funeral. congrats as you're now a One Piece fan, because you cried. we all have cried at one point or another, it's just impossible not to cry if a Story can make you feel emotions. now i'm not gonna spoil anything, but i am gonna let you know that this wont be the last time you cry watching One Piece.
yow! i have been watching your reaction on the other channel! i can't wait for thriller bark episode! Also, thank you as you also appreciated long form of anime structure that might as well be extinct in current anime media
2008 is when I first got into OP fr (always watched it on 4Kids and US Shonen Jump) and you HAD to be there. The Big 3 was on top and everyone was solidifying OP’s place in the 3 when Gear 2nd chapter dropped. Toei giving the anime more DBZ effects and animation around Enies Lobby was a big turning point in the OP fandom in 2007-08. Now EVERYONE knows OP, but back then it was only just starting to be viewed as a “serious” anime by everyone who took it less seriously than Bleach and Naruto.
Just to let you know, the next arc is gonna be slower. So like whe. There's a big arc. There are slower arcs follwing it, so the pacing (at least in the manga) isn’t too fast.
You had to pull out Merry's funeral scene, didn't you? 😢 There are only a few things that can make me tear up every time without fail, and that is one of them.
I absolutley agree on new seasonal shows not capable of having any tearjerking emotional moments, like i cant even remeber the name of mc most of the time let alone side characters... like with that jjk girl or eyeglases man like who dat ? They just introduced to the story couple chapters back, i dont really care about what happens to them beside plot progression or maybe some badass moments that i definately will forget untill next season comes up, tldr to me its really hard to care about characters and have any kind of attechment to them in modern shows so thats makes most of new seasonal anime very forgetable to me beside awesome animation and badass scenes.
I don't know if you are at this state yet, but what's your One Piece agenda? If you don't know what agenda piece is, it's fine. Just think of it as some sort of bias. My agenda is that Mihawk no-diffs Shanks, Shanks himself is cheesy (you’ll get it later), and the big red man (trying not to spoil) is stronger than Blackbeard but not stronger than my 🐐 Monkey D. Luffy. Also, Shanks is not a fucking Hockey man!
So, its a little spoiler. But the reason sanji's ass cant kick a woman is because of zeff. Mf beat him and threatened to chop off his balls if he ever laid a finger on a woman so much that his ass physically cant harm a woman even if he wants to
Yeah this arc edit: I WILL SAY THIS WITH MY FULL CHEST OUT THE EPISODE YOU. WANT. TO. FUCKING. HEAR. IN. ENGLISH IS. NICO ROBIN SAYING. I WANT TO LIVE!
We all cried over Merry, she was a member of the crew.
I love her so much
Normal people: "you shouldn't kill yourself."
Luffy: "if you want to kill yourself so badly then fine. But do it over here with your friends you idiot!"

You missed the point hear
It's not about being horny, it's about not kicking a woman
It's two separate things
Bro... I was eating dinner when you played Merry's voice; I literally dropped my fork and covered my face as I started to cry, that's how hard that still hits all these years later.
You should look up Oda's drawing of what it'd look like if Kalifa had eaten the Giraffe DF, it's glorious
I genuinely murmured to myself ‘what the fuck’ as soon as i saw it
smash
"You can't give the mascot character an epic badass moment" dont worry, it's reeeeally rare to have chopper badass moments nowadays :'(
he only gets to be remotely serious when he fights an evil scientist nowadays, and even then those aren't that cool and surprisingly repetitive
Fighting big mom and queen doesn't count?
@@martingiacomazzi3-lIlIR5854Both of those happened years ago, so yeah, it's "rare".

a crewmember died. of fucking course you cried. we all did.
“I’m sorry” in that voice got me and I knew it was coming
Fun fact up to that point they've only been together for about a month or 2
Sanji is one of my favorite strawhats, specifically because he refuses to EVER sacrifice his morals for anyone. I just wish he had better morals.
The image of Usope seeing for himself that Merry has a giant crack underneath, and finally accepting that she can't be fixed just make me 😭😭
HE'S BACK WITH MORE ONE PEAK
Also the "I Want To Live" moment is considered by many to be the best scene in the whole show
How do you even choose the best moments in one piece? There are too many
You forgot the GOAT.....Sogekingu!!!

Welcome to the club, my friend. The second we heard "Gomen ne", I *broke*. I still break every time

That image of Luffy and Usopp as Aladin and Jasmine got me. Lmao
Damn you so right about the state of anime. I just had the conversation about this with a friend like two days ago. I miss the slow burn.
Yes! One of the greatest One Piece arcs. Next up is my favorite, though many think it falls short.

cheese pizza corps is wild
Yup. That thumbnail sums it all up.
The fact that Oda can make feels sad about a ship is incredible!
We all cried.
You're REALLY taking your time good job
Thank you for making the vid, I love watching your journey through One Piece :)

No pressure to up the analyzing game in these videos, I for one am here just for the funzies :D Got dozen good laughs from this one too
we all cried for her😭😭😭😭
found your series 2 days ago, very glad you already posted a new one :D
Such a good arc, though I'm sad that Sogeking/Sniperking didn't join the crew 😔
yow! i have been watching your reaction on the other channel! i can't wait for thriller bark episode! Also, thank you as you also appreciated long form of anime structure that might as well be extinct in current anime media
he has another channel?
the part that always makes me cry is not merry's funeral, but when she shows up to rescue the crew 😭
Support toonstarterz y'all
It is all fine and dry UNTIL SHE STARTS TALKING!
Everybody gangsta until that one ''Gomene...''
I am sorry, but if I want in depth One Piece videos, I am not going to Merphy... I am going to MelonTea! X"3
Thank you very much.
I go to both
Yeah I was thinking that too Melontee rules 🔥🔥🔥
bro, the day in you painted her with that hairstyle 6:22 she've got that one in recent manga events
You're a magician
You still have a long way to go
5 months after the last one piece vid was posted Im now on post time skip fishman island
were you watching along with him?
No
Felt tears in my eyes just from the clip you showed me. Ugh. This scene destroys me everytime
Oda did say that a crew member would die during the story. Little did we know, we never considered the boat until GOD Usopp was on screen 🥺🥺😭😭😭🫡🙏🏻
I am absolutely here for your analysis man whatchu talkin bout
Now. The next arc....
12:02 *laughs maniacally in Dressrosa*

everyone gangsta until the damn boat starts talking
I got misty-eyed when I heard Merry say "I'm sorry..."
WE cried, brother.
7:04 "the most annoying laugh ever produced by humans" just you wait till a certain clown shows up lmao
Actually my favorite laugh Cesar's just for how zanny it is XD
I don’t even cry in real life damn near ever and I cried over a dam boat
The Usopp fight, I wanna live and the Boat 😭😭😭
No one has ever survived the Merry's funeral without crying. No one!
Just to let you know, the next arc is gonna be slower. So like whe. There's a big arc. There are slower arcs follwing it, so the pacing (at least in the manga) isn’t too fast.
Aight thank the algorithm ima watch this whole series
You had to pull out Merry's funeral scene, didn't you? 😢
There are only a few things that can make me tear up every time without fail, and that is one of them.
We all cried over merry!! 😭
Wait you are back 😂
We been waiting
You're back
Best video today!❤
I bet he’s going to cry when he gets to the Marineford arc.
English dub? Everything hits better in japanese
Merry was the goat, she will always live on though the fans! an the crew, also it explain so much how it was "alive" given luffys powers lol
W for drawing Gintoki in the long running anime.

I teared up just watching the scene ;_;
Hating on Dereshishishi is a crime I didn't know could exist
"this shit is looooong"
ahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahhaahhahahahaha
I have seen that scene probably 20 times, and every time I think I'm fine untill she says sorry
i literally just watched that episode
It was in fact, the last time nami has used the mirage attack
I think Enies Lobby is better, but Thriller bark is my favorite arc so im very excited for the next one!
why you watch in dub?
You hated Saul’s laugh? Wait to you hear Moriah’s 😂
Ah, finally
100 episode? That’s rookie numbers compared to Dressrosa and Wano
Congrats, you've achieved true nakama rank
Need an update on Straw Hat ranking next video!
Can wait for the next arc because nothing happens on it
WE GOT HIM BOYS! WE GOT HIM TO CRY FOR A BOAT!
We're almost to that one arc 😊
I don't know if you are at this state yet, but what's your One Piece agenda? If you don't know what agenda piece is, it's fine. Just think of it as some sort of bias. Ohh I thought you meant that ARC, almost there tho
11:26-11:30. (Monkey paw’s finger curl)
Kaku as “guy I care too much about” is waaaayyyy too sccurate
So, its a little spoiler. But the reason sanji's ass cant kick a woman is because of zeff. Mf beat him and threatened to chop off his balls if he ever laid a finger on a woman so much that his ass physically cant harm a woman even if he wants to
You know you have become a true One Piece fan when you cry over a boat.
Yeah this arc edit: I WILL SAY THIS WITH MY FULL CHEST OUT THE EPISODE YOU. WANT. TO. FUCKING. HEAR. IN. ENGLISH IS. NICO ROBIN SAYING. I WANT TO LIVE!
Thriller bark time, it's more funny fr
There's no way you didn't cry at the Robin scream, if you watched it in japonese that is. In English it his twice less hard.
