Hey Robbie! About the echo in the garage you can always hang up heavy blankets and tapestry to silence the echo. It's what a lot of me and friends do when recording vocals for songs plus it's cheap and portable.
You could also use layers of towels with something decent in front of it. DIYperks has a good vid from a while back on it, but i used like old camp shirts or whatever instead of a white towel.
너도 헤이냐
Every truck owner: eyyyy imma be carrying my stuff in the back of my truck.
Robbie: eyyyyy imma tear my truck apart and use my badass racecar as a truck you know what I mean! (With that hilarious hillbilly accent that robbie knows to do so well 😂)
My dad had a similar accident by his fault and that piller was pulled out, the doors hinges fixed to align the doors good and it worked
Here's an idea for the workshop echo Robbie!
You can get these sort of acoustic curtains, you'll notice them line the walls of Cinema's, of course you'd need shorter and smaller ones, but you could do rows of them on the ceiling of the workshop and suspend the lights just below them.
They'll catch quite a lot of the echo that travels upward, most of the echo would be coming from the hard floor and back from the ceiling
And trust me, you'll want to hear stuff from the floor, dropping bots and nuts is a nightmare when you can't hear where they land
Hey robbie! Im an electronic music artist, and I have a studio and acoustic panels, and that amount wont really do anything unfortunately :(... it is going to take a heck of a lot of those things to remove just a bit of the echo, and should be spaced out a lot more! Best of luck with the new shop.
I don't see why you can't just bang the b-pillar back on the gf8. It's a really special car so you should at least try to save it.
That feeling, when both of you guys upload almost at the same time, and idk which one to see first...
Both of who?
@@theguy106 Robbie and Brad.
You can put some sound damps on the ceiling to help with sound as well
Just realized the Christmas music I was hearing was the same as last year's. Holy crap, I've been watching Robbie for over a year and he has come so far. Keep it up pompadour homie.
Alpaca King once I heard the song I thought the same thing, back when he had the old shop where he worked on the civic before he put it in his old house garage
@@kylecamasso can't believe the civic is hardly the same car anymore with that locked up stock stereo lmao
Remember vlogmas lol
Sound foam in a big room can work for what you are trying to do. Remember the echo comes from parallel surfaces so stagger them. Sound bounces so make the sound bounce to a foam panel parallel to it and it will trap it. You'll get a better result if your don't put foam panels parallel to each other if you have limited panels. Break your wall in quadrants and start in the middle of each and that will help too. Hope this helps, love what you are doing.
I’m hyped for another video so soon
Also, if you checkerboard the foams with covered and uncovered space, you can save squares and get more coverage. Floor mats will definitely help
The sound canceling squares or whatever they’re called 😂 would probably work better if you spread them out more instead of having them on just one wall
Luis Damiani or maybe just open up 1 door in the shop 🤣
Creative Car Detailing have you ever been in bc during the winter. It’s freezing and miserable because it rains all the time so opening the doors would not work.
0:00 I am having a great day thanks
That's so cool! I'm happy on your behalf! What car did you get? :)
I was skeptical about this car, but I’m really glad you picked it up and you’ve done a great job bringing it back to like Robbie. Stay Committed
Yo! Just like ice arena's and theatre's, the sound issue is usually solved with blankets and sound attenuators hanging from the ceiling like sheets or "walls". Someone in the comments also mentioned blankets. Maybe you could borrow the neighbors truck again and just hang your old duvets along with some other old blankets up there. Should help immensely.
There's a band room at a local university that has ceiling to floor curtains that cancel echoes. Might not be practical for you, but there are smaller ones for home use that you could use for the "office" area when you get started on it. You could also look into sound baffles that hang from the ceiling. Also, I'm digging two-tone Genny.
You guys should definitely throw on an ISR racing catback exhaust. You will have lots of fun.
If you get a bunch of foam rectangles and hang them from the ceiling where theyre vertical, kinda like they do in public pools, pretty sure thats mainly for reducing the echos and it does a lot to help.
I think I'd be pretty cool if you hung pieces of plywood from the ceiling about 15 to 20 feet above the floor and put sound foam on those pieces of plywood. That would eliminate a lot of the echo.
Build 8 foot x 4 foot panels and wrap them in fabric. That's what movie theaters do. So just get some 2x4 or 1x1 build a square and get a thick fabric like tweed or burlap and wrap the panel it will be big enough for hanging on the walls and also you can paint them or stagger them down the walls. I'm sure some wood and cheap fabric wouldn't be that much money
i’m fixing a salvage Toyota 86 with 33,000 miles right now, should be ready by new years, can’t wait to see the BRZ come back ✊🏼
Calling it now. Courtney is getting the Hyundai
She got another subaru
Love the video dude so exited for the Genesis build
the best birthday present! a video from robbie👌🏼
You should've attached the acoustic foam on a board and hang them higher. That way it's not permanent and you can test it in different places 😊
Thank you for making content for us you make me so happy
There’s a RUclipsr named Alec Steele and what he did for noise was make frames for all his banners and flags and stuffed them with foam. He used 2x4s to make a frame the size of the banner and filled it with foam and then stapled the banner on top so you don’t see it. It looks good and you don’t have random foam squares all over the place
Hey Robbie, I think the sound is mainly traveling up the ceiling. So I suggest adding one to the ceiling or higher parts of the walls.
Awesome video as always. Hope the genesis passes
Robbie try to find another Subaru (same model) at a junkyard or at a scrap yard, cut out the pillar and other body parts you need, cut/get out the broken/bent parts from the wrecked one, and weld/put the spare parts in place. You don't have to do this it's just a recommendation. #staycommited
edit: I fixed a typo
You should get bass traps as well! They're acoustic foam pads that you place in the corners of your shop and they absorb the lower fequencies. It's also gonna help a lot! Greetings from Belgium
#CommittedCrew
Let’s get him to 200k!
hey my guy gratz getting gennie finished up!! just be thankful you got the 2.0t because its harder to find parts for the 3.8 (atleast for me) keep doing good things! also you need the form thingies higher up to cancel most the sound, if you cover up everything floor level you still have the whole ceiling basically untouched just still echoing
Going for that Initial D look with the Gene
i love the shots you made in this video ties well with the music
I love you vids can't wait to see what your going to do with this car
Hey Robbie, you should look in to acoustic panels. They can be pretty cheap if you build them yourself. Something like $10 US for a 2ft x 4ft section. DIYPerks in RUclips has a really good video on building them.
New drinking game. Every time Robbie says “just to get us through inspection”... DRINK! 😂
You want me dead don't you?😂
Buy a pop up camp tent that are on trailers, some of them are larger and more than the width of all the cars you own, you can take out the floor add crossbars and set up a floor however
YEAAAAA ROBBBIIEEEEEEEE
I love you bro I can’t wait for your videos to come out. Come to Saskatoon sometime👌
No way that pillar is pushed in far enough to toss it.
Love your videos bro.
Your the best
Gotta join some genesis coupe parts facebook groups, that's what I did
Loving the new background music bud 👌
Right on time!
Noti Gvng 💪🏾
HYPED
Let's get it robbie
There are big pads you can hang from the ceiling that are supposed to really help with echoes
Your videos showed me how cheap I can do things to my car keep up the great videos robbie #staycommited
GG lookin' good. Happy Holidays!
Did you consider swapping all of rhe jdm gf8 stuff into a Canadian gf8?
That transition after Brad throws the foam pads is too damn good.
not sure its its the same in Canada but in the US you can get sort of a "road permit" at the dmv lets you drive any car for 3 days
NEW VID YAAAAAAS
Robbie make bass traps, they're cheap and there's tons of how to videos on making them, they'll help alot more than acoustic foam!
If I wasn't at work right now I would watch the fuck out of this! Got the notification right at the end of my lunch 😥
Corners of the room are meant to be the best place for putting up the echo cancelling pads
Committed crew!!!
Soundproof higher due to the sound bouncing. I do installations for sound audio in my area you want some lower and some higher due to the sound bouncing around in the area. The more sound barriers the better it’ll sound
It’s tougher to sound proof a garage that size tho
I'm in Langley so I know the pain with all the rain we have been having the last few weeks.
Also, if you get some good corner foam pieces that helps a lot 👌
I was scared the videos wouldn't be as good after the move, should have trusted you, THEY'RE STILL AMAZING
Watch out for water leaking in through the tail lights on the genny. The baskets are suppose to be one time use. Dealing with water leaking into my trunk in my bk1 3.8 track
Put a rollcage in the subie, it could be your rally build what you wanted with the boxer
Rally brz that would be sick!!
Looks like the old bottle jack against a brick wall trick might push the Subie pillar out enough.
I created 2 emails just so I can like and watch your video twice 😂😂 keep up the great work amigo
Your the best goos vid. Sucks you couldn't get the trailer
Love ur vids
With the subie, you can cut the puller off and weld another one on
Better solution for echo is lower gain mic with a different pattern and a built in noise gate. Won't even pick up those echoes
Don’t just put the sounds pads where they look cool, you have to places them in a sorta checker pattern on opposite walls facing each other, sound waves bounce back and forth off of surfaces, the checker pattern deflects the sounds from bouncing off your walls and kills echo
Notification gang
If it is totaled but it back from the insurance company for super cheap and part it out! It’ll at lease replenish some funds 🤙🏻
Robbie... JENNY LOOKS GREAT!!!
Hey Robbie, love the video's, if you gonna sell the gf8..Do you sell the rain guards? I'm dying to find these but I don't find them on the internet for my gc8
The genisis is fairly new to have an extensive used parts selection right?
I love keeping up with your projects btw!!!
15:24 is amazing
ey robbie whats going on with the nissan 180 ????
get this man to 200k subs before 2020
Cmon 200k before 2020!
Such a nice car
Take the Subaru to Abey collision down the street and get an estimate or go to Paramount Body shop across the street from your shop for an estimate
Both the shops are ICBC accreditated shops the would write up an estimate and submit it to icbc
If Icbc wants to write the vehicle off you can buy back the vehicle
Or even negotiate a repair payout
So then you fix it yourself
Hope you understand what I'm trying to say
Committed Crew!
Gotta love that Pacific northwest weather, eugene myself sysco delivery driver. Ugh
park it next to the wall, run a 2x4 through the body and use a jack to push it back out
You should make som acoustical wall panels. They are easy to make and cheap.
Does this mean parts for the gf8 are for sale? I’d want a couple parts off of it if that’s the case.
Courtney's new daily for a bit 😂
When your done with the front bumper if u can ship it ill buy it
Your WRX can probably be taken to a frame shop that can bend the chassis back in place
Never clicked on a video so fast😂
I was waiting for the bad news 😭
In a space that large you may as well insulate and drywall, that's going to make the biggest impact.
It is a sub and with a nice amp it bumps
like i said in previous vid a body shop will just hook it up to a frame machine and straighten that pillar and pull any dents, seen far worse get fixed on 2012 chargers at the body shop my buddy works at
You should sell the civic and buy a truck to mod and make into a work truck it would be sick to see something like that on the channel!
