The hip and pelvic girdle are so complex it is easy to get confused about what muscles perform what action. I really like how in-depth you went explain each muscle and what they contribute to during everyday movements
I think learning them one by one is so much better than learning all the muscles and actions at one time, so thank you Dr. Goodin for always doing it like that!
There was a lot of information in this video but Dr. Goodin did a really good job breaking it down and making it easier for us to understand. I really liked the photos and examples.
I feel like the differences between left and right pelvic movements can get confusing, but Dr. Goodin does a good job of clarifying and illustrating the differences, making it easier to understand.
I found it helpful that he showed us all the muscles he was going to talk about and then broke it down to each muscle individually. I also found the examples of daily movements helpful in understanding how these muscles aid in certain actions.
It was really helpful that Dr. Goodin broke down each muscle that is involved in the hips and pelvic region. It allows me to grasp this content better and understand how everything works with each other.
I really like the breakdown of the muscles. Grouping them by location and being able to see how their actions are similar or not based on that is really helpful.
Seeing the diagrams about where the muscles inset and originate was a super helpful way of visualizing what we learn! I appreciate how in depth Dr. Goodin goes in his videos.
I really appreciated how you separated out the muscles by their locations on the anterior and posterior portions of the leg and hip. Knowing where the muscles lay really helps with knowing the actions.
I liked how Dr Goodin showed each muscle individual muscle while discussing how they work, where they attach, and ways/movements to remember each of the muscles.
It is crazy how many different muscles work together in order for my body to move, especially at the hip joint. It makes me thankful for how intricately we were all created, and fascinated by how every muscle works together to perform certain functions!
The hip and pevic girdle are very complex but Dr. Goodin breaks down the muscles and organizes them by placement and actions. This reallly helped when trying to understand and learn these muscles!
I really liked how you break down each muscle individually especially since there are so many of them. I also like how you explain how the muscle's placement affects its actions.
I liked how the video was seperated into anterior, posterior, medial and lateral. It keeps it very organized and allows for it to be very easy to follow along with!
I found it helpful that while explaining the actions of the iliopsoas muscle, you also drew arrows indicating which way the muscle fibers were being pulled and emphasized its insertion and origin!
The intricacies of the hip and pelvic girdle can often lead to confusion regarding which muscles are responsible for specific actions. Your detailed explanation of each muscle's role in everyday movements is greatly appreciated.
I really liked how Dr. Goodin organized the muscles by their locations on the anterior and posterior sides of the legs and hips. By learning where the muscles are located on the body it also helps me learn their actions.
I like how each muscle group is gone through one at a time. It also helps that Dr. Goodin draws over the length of each of the muscles and explains that some of them are cut on the diagram because sometimes cut muscles can be confusing.
I enjoyed how there were visuals of the muscles and how Dr. Goodin went into detail as to WHY they had the actions (due to various origins and insertions) Very helpful!
Drawing on the diagrams where the muscle is pulling/what direction it is going in really helps me to understand what their function is. This video was really helpful!
I was confused at the beginning of this video, but by the end, I feel like Dr. Goodin did a great job explaining the actions and musculature of the hip joint. Breaking down into groups is a very helpful way to remember muscles and their actions as well.

I think it is pretty incredible that there are so many muscles in the thigh and hip. They are all layered so densely and it's crazy how they all have a specific role for specific movements.
Hi Dr. Goodin! I noticed the way you introduced the actions of every muscle was really descriptive and aligned well with where the muscle was located and its origin/insertion. The photos helped me understand the concept of the way these muscles preform their actions.
This video really highlighted how many different muscles are used to move the pelvic girdle and all the different actions each muscle is responsible for.
I like how you not only talked about the muscles, but also the actions that they do. There is a lot involved wit the hip joint and this was a helpful video!
This was a lot of information with a lot of complexities, but Dr. Goodin adequately describes and explains how each of the hip and pelvic muscles complete their action.
I feel like there are so many muscles for the Hip and Pelvic Girdle, and it can make it a little overwhelming. But going through each one-by-one, helped so much. Thank you for these videos!!
I liked how you separated the muscles into their locations along with their specific actions. The hip has so many muscles, so it will be very helpful to study the muscles in groups.
The muscle videos are always the most helpful to understand the muscles and how they help the joint move especially muscles that arent as well known like some of the hip muscles
The individual breakdowns of each muscle made this video so helpful! Dr. G always finds the best examples/analogies to make the very complex body, very comprehensible! I did not know anything (well, pretty much) about the adductor magnus prior to this video. I liked hearing that it is both a strong contracting muscle as well as a strong hip extensor that performs external rotation. Thanks Doc!
The pelvic girdle is so complex but so cool! Thank you for the organized breakdown of muscles into their anterior, posterior, medial, and lateral aspects, super helpful for understanding and visualizing!
I liked how you drew lines and arrows to show the right and left movements as well as bilaterally and contralaterally because it's difficult to visual the movement and the direction it goes just from memory.
