Thank you for this well-paced, unpretentious and highly informative presentation. I am a full-time manual therapist with an eclectic set of massage and bodywork techniques and ALWAYS happy to deepen my understanding of the function of the body. If we'd had teachers like you 40 years ago, my learning curve would have been much shorter. You are providing a very valuable service from the heart.
You give such great lectures and comprehensive demonstration. Great work thanks for sharing your time and I don't see how or why anyone would give a thumbs down to someone that took the time and effort to do something like this. Pity the haters for they are full of Sorrow LOL Keep up the great work and thanks again for your time. Two Thumbs Up. Because I only have two. LOL
Your anatomy teaching is lots more than just the technical stuff. I love how you point out to thinking deeper and rethinking of ordinary things like walking in a new light. I see your passion through your teaching. You make me want to learn more and more. Thank you!!
I love these tutorials you give, thank you! As a yoga teacher I am continuously studying anatomy, and your videos are so clear and the demonstrations are amazing. Thank you for these. The best active anatomy class.
As a Certified Massage Therapist working the lower body constantly this video was so amazing it gave me an epiphany for one of my clients! You mentioned the IT band for lateral knee pain and that was his issue. Amazing
JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING WAY OF TEACHING AND FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SHARE THESE VIDEOS. I AM AN Alexander Technique TEACHER TRAINER AND YOUR WORK HAS ADDED SO MUCH TO OUR WORK . THANK SO MUCH Daria Okugawa
I've been watching your videos to prepare for my state exam and I've found both my husband and three year old looming about, watching your videos alongside me and mimicking your movements when explaining the action of the muscles. You keep it interesting enough that everyone in my house is learning.
Very detailed - extremely essential for my greater understanding (by the verbal explanation/pronounciation of names with physical demonstration provided too) and teaching of Musculoskeletal Anatomy to my senior art students. The delivery of this lesson, does not only prove that you are such an asset, but also an articulate lecturer who has repeatedly demonstrated your skill and ability to deliver your content with sufficient calm and admirable clarity. My compliments to you Sir Webster.
Just the right level for me. You speak with a positive authority. Like I'm getting a lecture, but from someone who recognises that I have a reasonable understanding of the subject matter at hand, which is great for someone like me who was forced to leave a school of biosciences not too far from you only about five years ago due to illness. You're making me seriously think about giving it another shot!
thank you Sam Webster for all theses videos! Started massage therapy school in Canada in January and my anatomy teacher is AWFUL, wish I could pay you my $1500 class fee as you are the one actually teaching me things!
You are absolutely amazing. I have such a better understanding of muscle as a whole than trying to study from a text book. Thank you so much for these videos. Truly the best I have seen. And I have seen a lot!
thank you for you understanding for people who has no background of anatomy at all................... your detailed show and tell truly helps a lot. you beats 10 books trying to tell me what is the basic movement of the hip joint. It should be a rather simple idea, since i am using it everyday! but they sure can invent a lot of terms to make you confuse.... THANK YOU!
no matter how helpful video, and the persons time to make it, there are always a few people who have to dislike something all the time, can you explain them! 😁 I'm enjoying these immensely! Thank you!
Anatomy is probably my most difficult subject for med school (might change but I don't know), these help so much. Thanks for posting and explaining the bigger picture.
This is a fantastic video for someone recovering from hip replacement surgery. After limping around for over three years, I had replacement surgery 3 months ago. Having regained most of my range of motion, I am now finding the last part of recovery is pain in the Glute Med and Min while walking. It would seem they both got very weak over the years of not being used and now are not “Happy Campers” when I am focusing on walking very “level”. Wonderful video describing what is happening.
I'm currently going through massage school and your videos help to understand the muscles and such ! Thank u so much! I LOVE you and your videos so funny and informational! Keep them coming!!
Thank you so much for your videos! You are such a wonderful teacher! You make it simple, clear and entertaining. Even if I am not a native englisch speaker, I can follow you. The presentations, descriptions and repetitions are very helpful. The additional explanations to the biomechanic is very good. Without you I would not manage my exams. Many thanks for you to take this big efforts. Be always motivated and have fun!
I have been active and done Zumba for many years thinking I will always be in perfect health. Now I am older and begin to have hip pain... Your teaching helps me understand my issues much better, so when I visit my doctor, I will be able to know what he is talking about. Thank you for spelling out the names of each part. So considerate!
This video is so great. It has to be one of the best ones online explaining this stuff. Certainly the best one I’ve come across . Thanks Sam! This has been so helpful in studying for my exam- double thumbs up as my daughter likes to say!
Thanks for all your videos! The most important bits with enough theory that that I’m really learning but no to overwhelmed and delivered well. Great teacher.
Sam you are a fabulous teacher. Gosh if only we had you when going through med school.........this was such a great refresh and so informative. One of our registrars referred us to your RUclips page. Excellent!
Thank you! Thanks for taking your time to make these videos. They are really helpful : ) and even if they don't cover all the details, having someone explain the basic concepts is VERY helpful while going through the books. Again, Thanks a ton from a struggling first year medical student lol : )
you gave a very good lecture and i was having difficulty time to understand muscle of the hip and muscle of the knee . So thank you so much your lecture help me a lot . i was straggling to understand took me almost over one week because of English is my second language thank you again for sharing your knowledge with everybody
This is the first time, I walked into your brief but largely informative vlog, that extended and directly penetrated my celebral cortex. I like the relaxed and a little bit comedic approach... less stressful... and so on. I am thankful to have stretched a little bit further on digging in to find answers of my lumbar and sciatic pain... as suspected due to tight hip flexors because of prolonged seating position and having a pretty less active lifestyle. Anyway thank you. I have subscribed and hit the "like button." I will watch more of your videos. Expect, I'll be pounding each "like button" I'll find on your vlogs. Okay, excellent! Stay safe 👍
Thank you for being you. If there is a way to give support for your future videos please let me know. I always watch your anatomy videos right after highlighting the "important" information from my book. You elaborate and take off the boredom out of it. thanks again.
Superb! Thanks for doing such wonderful explanations. I have a question: For a sportsmen - cricketers, footballers, basketball players etc.; it is easy to assume that they create an imbalance in their bodies owing to repeat actions, and since all these sports require standing, running or jumping - these sportsmen bound to have tight/tired - flexors, extensors, abductors and adductors. Beside this all the major training's revolve around endurance - meaning strenuous workouts either on the field or in the gym tiring all these muscles further. Nobody talks about relaxing Psaos and I can't see their hamstrings or quads getting relaxed anywhere in their routine. Not to talk about all important gluteal muscles which are always in action even in whatever they are doing. In my experience sleeping is not enough to give rest to all these muscles especially considering the amount of time we sleep and our sleeping posture! Yes, there is lot of confusion about stretching and, I being a training therapist, have tried to explain why relaxation is so important to sportsmen in one of my articles on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:linkedInArticle:6371200077159075840/ So my question to you is: do you think you can strengthen a tired muscle? And even if you can(little bit - to its limit) then for how long you can continue with tired muscles? The obvious outcome of which, to me, is an injury! And this brings me to my next question: if you can not strengthen (at least in my understanding) a tired muscle, then why they never seek a relaxation specialist? Why trainers never talk about relaxation? Sorry to bore you with this basic stuff but it will be great help to know your views on this! Warmest regards, Umesh
Athletes always have tired muscles. The degree of fatigue changes, but the only time they might be truly fresh is before a competition or in the off season. But you’re better off speaking to a muscle physiologist than an anatomist about this.
i got prolapsed disc at L3/4 about 18 months ago so i have to stretch whole bottom half of body every few hours 24/7. this helps to show what muscles are involved.
Excellent instruction. thank You so much for posting. Just got my laser certification infra red light and visible red light. Anyway it is a must to brush on anatomy. Your videos are incredibly detailed. Thank You so much for posting. I have learned hugely from your videos.
