A beautiful machine Ali C really like it mate. Can't go wrong with Orange they've made amazing bikes since I can remember. I had the pleasure of riding a friends Orange back in the day like '99 and it was the lightest mtb I've ever ridden 'til this day.

Very nice, still on tubes myself as well. I might have to give that huck norris setup a try on one of my bikes after seeing your success with it.
If any body proved it to be worth converting you did Ali with your DIY tubeless video and I really like the inner tube used to make the tire a tubular idea! Also I now have a clutch derailleur on one of my bikes and it really is such a smart idea I'm no longer chewing up my chainstay protectors however I have not gone dropper post yet.

awesome bike and your setup will raise an eyebrow or two with the must use all available travel community as they seem to know everything, personally atm I like a good stiff front end but like to feel the back give a little......but I know he haw and more than willing to say so
Do you get a lot of chain kickback when moving through the travel quickly? I was wondering if the high pivot on the linkage means that that is more common than on some other brands and linkage systems?

Cheers Ali that was fantastic! what are top of the range brakes like for wheelies?I have some deore xt's and my friend has some other make I forget now lol.But they are better than mine.The issue is mine don't really lock up anymore which isn't good but as long as I don't go to far bk I can wheelie for ever,but I sometimes fall of the bk, as I have no lockup. My friends bike with the fancy brakeslocks up straight away I can hardly wheelie, soon as you touch the brakes.So lol sorry for the essay, My question to you is do the maguras fade real nice before they lockup. Im defo getting fresh brakes but want to know if there worth it in this respect, thanks 👍

Orange 4 2017 VS Orange 4 2018 - will a better than average / good ride get any benefit from paying extra for the newer model?
Will Hope wheels on the 2017 model be a big improvement on the stock 2018 models?

It's a beauty. You should stick a pair of spank spike pedals on it.
For your weight those psi numbers in the shocks are crazy!
its not about the shock its about the shock and frame conbo, diffrent frames with the same shock will be diffrent
The rear seemed pretty normal to me, but the fork was really high compared to what I've run / seen friends run. I use 80 psi in my fork at 160 lbs (72 kg)
hi Ali, i ride MTB and want to get into trials. I am trying to learn the basics on my MTB before i purchase a trails bike. How much of what i learn will be transferable to the new bike? will it be easier or harder at first?
i was really struggling with my mtb, it is a 29er and really heavy. I bought a street trails bike on ebay and now i can back hop like 6 or so times before loosing my balance. Any plans for how too's in the future?
Bought one year ago best bike I've had. Surprised you have a medium as these come up small. I'm the same height as you 5ft 10'' and the large is perfect tried the medium and it was too small. Also have 50mm stem
Are spank spoke holes staggered side-to-side or are they drilled in a straight line down the middle of the rim?
makes it harder to lace the wheel also spokes are pulled sideways especially with a wide hub - not good
That doesn't make sense. The holes in the rim should point to the appropriate holes in the hub. Pointing at the center of the hub is just plain lazy. Now the spokes are bent sideways. You call that triangulation? lol
What got me started was a rim I bought, forget the brand, there's no label, touted as state-of-the-art, with 32 holes smack on the center line. Now I notice that the spokes bend slightly on their way to the hub :)

He's Got a 44 tooth on the back. My big chain ring on my road bike is only 46! Granted I am on a junior rollout

looks like a slopestyle or xc trail bike to me. really nice bike tho. never seen an orange 4 never knew they did one tbh lol. gonna sub and look out for vids of the bike in action

Yeah you are right. Arm pump can come from anything :(
Ali Clarkson there is a device that is meant to reduce arm pump called 4ArmStrong. Check out there website. There American but I think they post to UK
Running levers more horizontal helped me massively with arm pump, Spank Vibrocore bars might also help.
Arm pump is a weird one... Tire pressure could def drop, 30 would still be ample. Brake lever travel: are you allowing them to pull close to the bar? That’s key. Also, as below, take care to get the angle right, based on where your hips and shoulder are while descending. Suspension setup will play too, no doubt. Btw, I had a Patriot years ago, my favourite mtb I’ve owned; super fun. I’m thinking of getting a trail bike again after only having a 29er hardtail for some time, and the Four is lookin mighty appealing! I’m all about full sus that likes to manual, jump and gives energy back. I’m stoked Orange is continuing to tweak the design and selling lots of bikes!
