    Fairplay Guy a good review . You said a couple of times about the light gauge aluminium and to be honest I think that is one of the negatives of the modern Orange bikes . I've got a Stage 6 and it's such a rapid bike but it's not really robust enough . The Headtube cracked and some other issues . I think Orange need to get back to making bombproof bikes again as the modern Orange bikes just aren't as strong

      daveandmerlin that’s not good to hear, did Orange sort you out?

    • @daveandmerlin
      @daveandmerlin 4 года назад

      @@GuyKesTV Orange have sorted me out fairplay to them but still waiting to bet the bike back after 2 months as the Forks were off under warranty aswell. I love riding my Stage and I'm just a average Joe rider and I love that the" simple Hinge " is a bloody fast bike .....in most cases quicker than alot of bikes . I would be all over the new 2020 stage 6 but kinda of lost confidence . Keep up the good videos and hoping you do one on the Rocket Max .

    I have a 2016 segment which has been bullet proof, the only issue was cable rub on the headstock also where it came up the frame.so I'm pleased to see internal cable routing which will tidy it up. Always fancyed a go on a five just to see how it compares, the longer reach will suit as I'm 6ft+ bird areis , santa Cruz 5010, cotic flaremax, comparable? Just thinking out loud , something nippy and fun

    My local bike shop has a new 2019 Orange Five RS in for £2700 reduced from £4900. Any thoughts? Do I go for it? Nearly £3000 still seems like a lot for a weekend bike?

    Guy (or anyone who has a large)... What are the min and max seat heights (without using dropper post)?
    I'm looking at a stage 5 vs a canyon strive but through bad finishing kit choices it looks as though I can't get the saddle low enough with the dropper post that canyon provide. ... And I have a 26" five from years ago which is too small for me and I really want a stage five anyway.

      Dave Lloyd I cant remember exactly so I’ll check with the lads from Orange when they’re back on Tuesday. If you’ve not heard back in a few days though remind me!

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  4 года назад +1

      Dave Lloyd I’ve just checked the video and it looks like there’s about 4-5cm of post and collar showing with a 150mm drop post. I run 74.5cm from BB to saddle top so as a rough guide minimum BB to saddle should be around 70cm

      Marty See Orange did offer to sort under warranty but I would have had to completely strip the frame and send it back to them, One I didn’t fancy a dull strip down and two I would have been without my bike for a month so just touched up with black paint

      John D it depends what model/wheel size/age. I have a mate who just got an immaculate full Fox factory Alpine 26in wheeler off eBay (legit not nicked) for his son for £600 so anything is possible I guess.

      @@GuyKesTV That's amazing to hear! I've got my eyes on a new 2020 P7! (27.5) £1750 from £2000. Do you have any experience with this bike? I'm torn between medium and large frame I'm 5ft10" and have a phobia of smashing my nuts off the top tube which I do every day on my size XL Scott Aspect 900, I can barely put my feet on the ground. Cheers Guy you're a top lad!

      John D yeah I had one as a long termer for MBUK. You’re basically the same height as me so I’d go large, although it’ll still be plenty long in medium if you’re really worried about your tackle.
