Ant is right about the not looking thing. One of my best friends passed late last year and me and another friend had to identify the body. It has stuck with me since and I remember it at least once a week. I don't know if it was a real quote or not, but the soldier that said "let them fall face down if they must die. It makes it easier to say goodbye." knew exactly what he was talking about.
Sorry about your friend, dude, that sucks. What happened that you had to identify the body? Was he murdered? And how come the family weren’t the ones to do it?
It's on YT as 'Greg Geraldo's final intervention'. Greg speaks about his problems and Patrice is like "why am I learning this about this only now, I'm your friend". Very sad
2 of my favorite lines that I've ever heard came from Greg. 2 - When he said "Lisa Lampanelli was like the octomom. She doesn't have any kids but she has had 80 fingers in her at the same time." 1 - When he said Flavor Flav looked like "Idi Amin had a 3 year crack binge on the sun." I missed so much of Flav's roast after that that I had to go back and watch it 3 or 4 times. Greg Giraldo was a master. Nobody can take his place.
what is great is all of the avenues of access we have to their hearts/thought/material, through all of whats on youtube and the fact that these guys that have passed away namely, I am thinking of Greg and Patrice...They live on through their material being available online...its a beautiful thing... thats all :)
Greg Giraldo was one of the most brilliant and naturally funny comedians of the past 30 years. I only watched the Comedy Central roasts to hear Greg annihilate everyone on stage. I would love to hear Greg's take on Donald Trump's presidency, Covid-19 and all the other craziness that has happened since he died.
Man I miss Patrice, otto and greg.. aside from being some of the best comics ever, even when they weren't joking it was some of the best conversation whether it's on Abbey and Costello or classic movies, women, relationships or how to raise a family.... much love to everyone..keep it funny👍🤘✌
I found him because of his appearances on Fox news pulling no punches, and then I started hearing him more when I would listen to Opie and Anthony and that's where I grew to really appreciate him...great, genuine dude, he was
I like jimmy, Patrice, Colin, Greg...all the guests that have been on here, but I always loved their appearances on the show more than their stand up because it’s like hearing a good story while shooting the shit with friends.
Jimmy said he wouldn't speculate on what happened. Two minutes later he speculates. He was apparently a great friend of Greg but didn't know how old his kids were? Of course, he made a statement to the press about this tragic death. Self-serving worm. Opie is trying for the grave, serious broadcaster but sounds almost gleeful at times discussing it. He cheerfully talks about Greg's OD and then goes, "it's a tough one man" and keeps blowing air through his lips like it's so rough for him. He brings up false rumors and says, "well that's why we don't want to bring any of that shit up." You just did! His sincerity is non-existent. "I didn't know him well at all...He was one of my favorites." Me me me. I would rather they say nothing then be so obviously false.
Yeah. The vibe when Patrice died -- even when Otto Petersen died -- was genuinely sorrowful (Jim went off-air upon getting the text message, Opie + Ant immediately switched to music). This comes off like a weird "I knew Giraldo, but not really, I knew his kids, but not really, I grieved his loss, but, really, we were just trying to figure out how to discuss him diplomatically on our pre-taped show." Patrice saw (and empathized with) something there that the others missed, or didn't care about -- witness him dropping out of the bit, halfway through, when he (Patrice) says "No, man, I feel really bad for Greg, I wanna help him, I want him to get in touch with me off the air." Sad that they died within ~14 mos of each other.
Listening to this right after the Giraldo final intervention clip is tough. He sounds almost desperate to get better. Funnily enough the show he was supposed to perform at was for the NY Recovery Rally and featured Greg and Courtney Love. I'm guessing they don't look that closely to see if these people actually stopped using.
Greg was so funny, but so tortured... and I miss Patrice every single day! What an amazing, funny, smart, and philosophic comedian!!!! It’s ashame that he went out the way he did! Both were taken too soon!!! RIP!!!
Patrice wasn't taken it was his own damn doing. He knew for years that his type 2 diabetes would kill him. Did he change his eating habits? Did he listen to his closest friends and family? No. It's sad but it's his own fault.
Sure...I still think it's harder to fight depression and get off drugs than to say no to a piece of cake. He even could occasionally eat something bad...but kept drinking grape soda and having huge pizzas all the time.
Yeah, you need food. But with diabetes you have to make sure what food you eat. I've had two cases of diabetes in my family, both were almost 80 when they checked out. That is manageable. You watch your blood sugar, you take the injections and watch what you eat. Food craving isn't even close to a hard drug addiction +j depression. They both had a choice...It was easier for Patrice. I give him shit because I like the guy. His laughter alone...
Is there any video or part of a podcast where greg says something positive about Chip Chipperson? I like Jim's stand up but the fucking character...I watched multiple episodes from the animation and it fucking sucked. Is there a big difference between the podcast character and the animation?

We can only speculate, but that's worthless. Best to just remember him for what he did. Same way people like to say 'What would Carlin say about today's political environment?" Who fucking knows? We could only guess, and that's meaningless.
It’s nothing to make fun of. At 13 Jim took a couple pulls off the vodka bottle in his dads cupboard. Ended up in rehab and been sober ever since. Salute to Jimmy from a fellow real addict
